Posted January 22, 201015 yr http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n99/ashford57/deftones-1.jpg Deftones vocalist, Moreno has said that the yet-to-be-titled new album will come out April 27th and will be more reminiscent of early discs like 1997’s ‘Around the Fur’ and 2000’s ‘White Pony.’ The songs were written and recorded quickly, Moreno says, and the musicians were on fire as they grappled to come to grips with bassist, Cheng’s horrific car accident. While the band ultimately gained strength from misfortune, initially they were on the verge of breaking up. “We honestly thought that after this thing happened with Chi, why even carry on?” Although Deftones had already tracked a full album of songs with Cheng and producer Terry Date tentatively titled ‘Eros,’ they decided to shelve those recordings and work on an entirely new batch of songs with their friend Sergio Vega filling in on bass. They hired producer Nick Raskulinecz to work with them, and in just two months they had recorded an entirely new album. “I honestly think it’s one of the best, if not the best records we’ve ever done,” Moreno said. “My favourite record is ‘Around the Fur.’ It was written and recorded in four months, which was the fastest, easiest and funnest record we’ve ever made. February 23, 201015 yr sounds utterly awesome :yahoo: to be honest though, the last album wasn't that bad at all, it just wasn't like Around The Fur or White Pony which this album seems to be hinting at a return to B)
March 19, 201015 yr i think it's leaked. although the version on a private site i go on has a lot of people commenting saying it's demos or unmastered but a blog i trust has put it up so i'm downloading now.
March 25, 201015 yr listened to this last week and it's more like the earlier Deftones rather than the later which is completely fine with me don't have a problem with the later stuff but I loved Around The Fur and White Pony. Will be getting the CD when it comes out May 18th
April 26, 201015 yr Author I'm pretty sure it will be in shops on the Monday as all new releases come out on Mondays here. Also HMV, Play, Amazon etc. list it as 3rd May release
April 27, 201015 yr yeah they moved the release date up a few weeks when it leaked, should hopefully get the CD on Saturday as HMV are quite good for that sort of thing online
April 27, 201015 yr Dammit, was so excited to see the album from my favourite band be released on my birthday (18th May) Now they releas it earlier. Just doesnt feel the same :( At least I have less time to wait I suppose
