01 (--) Hurts - Wonderful Life (01) [1 wk] went to No.2 in my chart about 2 months ago, very very good song

To think this track made my pre-release top 10 off the back of hearing the track after you charted it. Now here it is in all its glory at no. 1 in my main chart. ^_^

02 (--) Keri Hilson - I Like (02) [1 wk] decent song, love the UK edit

I'm thinking the complete opposite. "I Like" this song loads (no pun intended :P ) but I much prefer the original version to the UK Edit. As I posted above, I can see this sticking around for some time.

10 (--) Example - Won't Go Quietly (10) [1 wk] I much prefer Watch The Sun Come Up but this is good too

I guess I like this about the same as 'Watch The Sun Come Up'. Both tracks have peaked at no. 10 and I don't really see this climbing much further to be honest. Both decent tracks but I tend to find Example's vocals grate on me a little bit.

11 (12) OneRepublic - Secrets (10-05-07-05-03-06-12-11) [8 wks] just heard this finally - fantastic song, far better than All The Right Moves

Just like with Keri Hilson, 'Secrets' is exclusive to Central Europe as it's been used in a German TV programme recently hence the tracks success in a few countries. It's much better than the above average 'All The Right Moves' which in its second week is on the verge of dropping out of my top 40 whilst this track will still be in my top 40 long after 'ATRM' makes its inevitable exit next week.

16 (23) Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina - Stereo Love (03-09-17-22-22-13-23-23-16) [9 wks] finally started charting this

'Stereo Love' has had a really odd chart run for me. I like the track but I tend to get bored of it quickly so don't listen to much leading the son dropping down. Then I listened to it more and it bounces back my chart (repeat process). I don't think it'll return to my top 10 as with each week there's more new tracks ready to dominate the higher reaches of my chart.

20 (--) Stan Walker - Black Box (20) [1 wk] nice to see this enter, a decent reality winners single for once

Like I mentioned in reply to Mikey. why do other countries give their talent show winners original tracks to release as the first single. Yet in the UK we're subjected to fifth rate cover versions not too out of place from your local pub/karaoke night. I think Simon Cowell has proved that you can sell anything to the British public and they will buy it. If Stan Walker had released a cover of 'The Climb' in Australia and New Zealand, I wonder how well his version would've performed in their charts. I almost feel embarrassed for the UK record buying public allowing crap like 'When You Believe' by Leon and 'The Climb' by Joe getting to no. 1!!!

26 (--) Girls Can't Catch - Echo (26) [1 wk] I would have expected it to do better in your chart! decent song but by a pointless group - the songwriters should have saved it for somebody better

'Echo' was never in contention for entering my top 20. I do like 'Echo' but for it to be even top 20 I'd have to think it was at least "great". There's a difference between a good song and a great song. This isn't great, but it's good. That's why I was so baffled last week by all the "this will be top 5" posts I read in UK Chat forum. This song was never going top 10 and there's three words that explain why; Girls. Can't. Catch. :D Let's face it, they're a bit of a non-group. Some overpaid record company executive thought "oh, The Saturdays" and popular. Let's sign another girl group with a terrible band name as their...erm, rival. Again, makes the boggle.

PRE-RELEASE CHART

03 (05) Erik Hassle - Hurtful stunning, old news now but it's at least a big hit in my chart finally despite being in it for a year on and off

'Hurtful' is brilliant. I remember seeing this on the release schedule around October last year and nearly charted it. Then the release got cancelled and fast forward three months it's now in my pre-release chart. If anything, this deserved to get to no. 2 in the UK charts but has no chance of no. 1 because Haiti Relief will be dominating the UK charts throughout February.

04 (04) Inna - Hot really like this, could it be big in the UK? very late 90's-ish

In the UK no. 1s prediction thread, I actually picked 'Hot' out as a potential UK chart topper. If the song gets heavy rotation on the music channels and support from Radio 1 then Inna could well be one of 2010's most promising newcomers. I also really like 'Amazing' which I assume will be the second single. I wonder if Inna will make enough of an impact to follow in the footsteps of Lady GaGa and score a couple of big hits/#1 singles in 2010.

Thanks Simon :D

I've never heard of mp3extreme. The only forums where I've been a member are Cool Clarity, ChC Media, Haven Forums and now Buzzjack. I don't like the idea of signing up to loads of different forums as I know half of those account will collect dust and never be used.

What exactly is 'Zweiohrküken'' all about? I saw another video to 'I Like' on YouTube with clips from the film included. It looks like two men; one dresses up as a women and goes on a date with the other man. Seems really strange.

I don't know but I want to find it out ^_^ I saw it only with clips from the film but I think it could be hilarious, who knows. I think in ''Secrets'' by OneRepublic are some clips too -_-

Thanks Simon :D

I didn't realise 'Secrets' was featured in the same film. :o I thought it was used as the theme tune to another German television programme. If that's the case, then it seems 'Zweiohrküken' has a good OST. ^_^

I did a lot of stuff for ChC but moreso on the sister site Chart Clarity which is still running but it's been changed to suit the Hitstastic European Top 30. It may well change again some time but I'm finding it really useful in its current state. :D

02 (--) Keri Hilson - I Like (02) [1 wk] - Not heard

It's easily Keri Hilson's best track to date. It's been featured in a German film (can't think what it's called) hence why the track is popular in countries like Germany (where it's no. 1), Austria and Luxumburg. Apparantly it's getting a UK released in a few months time but we're being subjected to the inferior UK Radio Mix which pales in comparison to the original. Check the song out below:

I've never been a fan of Keri Hilson, actually this is not that bad, it could easily grow on me after a few more listens

20 (--) Stan Walker - Black Box (20) [1 wk]

Oh Mikey!!! Don't you check out the Hitstastic European Top 30 each week (see my sig :P ). Stan Walker won New Zealand's equivalent to The X Factor. 'Black Box' is a decent track too. Makes you wonder why the British reality TV show winners are given dodgy lukewarm covers to release for their first single. Other countries get original material to release as their winners single. Just makes the mind boggle. Maybe it's because Simon Cowell he can brainwash the gullible British public into buying whatever he wants them too regardless of if it's good ('A Moment Like This', 'Hallelujah') or hidious ('When You Believe', 'The Climb'). Anyways, here's the video to 'Black Box':

I wish all the British X Factor releases were like this, its original, and quite effective, its got a nice melody to it, Simon Cowell should come up with something original this year, instead of using cover versions.

Yes it has, I remember that ''Apologize'' by OneRepublic was a part of soundtrack to ''Keinohrhasen'' - there was aired special video with clips from it. Good promotion! ^_^

To be honest, Keri Hilson has never had any big hits in my personal chart before now. Her most successful was 'The Way I Are' (the Timbaland track). Of her solo singles, 'Energy' got to no. 16 and 'Knock You Down' was a poor no. 34 in comparison. I never charted 'Return The Favour' because I thought that song was hidious!!! :puke:

If Keri Hilson moves away from the non-songs and starts releases brilliant tracks like 'I Like' from now on, Keri could easily become more popular in the UK.

As for Stan Walker, I've thought exactly the same. I was really surprised when I first heard 'Black Box' and expected the song to be ballad. It's good to know that there are other countries that don't follow the same tried and tested (and tired) formulae of a talent show winner's debut single. 'Black Box' has a great video as well whereas the videos to The X Factor winners' are all practically the same. They don't even put effort into the videos anymore. Will Young, Girls Aloud...even David Sneddon ( ) all had proper videos for their debut singles. It all changed with Michelle McManus, and it's stayed that way ever since. ** sigh **

I didn't know that either. 'Apologize' is a brilliant track and is to date Timbaland's only no. 1 single in my personal chart.

Now you know :D. Timbaland does not have any solo no. 1 in my chart :nocheer: But has with Madonna - 4 Minutes and with N. Furtado - Promiscuous :heehee:
