According to Cheryl Cole anyway. Contact Music spoke with One Republic whose working with Cheryl Cole on new music, and according to him, Cheryl feels basically if Britney Spears would sing it, she doesn’t want it.

Ryan (from One Republic) said: “I had a long meeting with the head of her label and he said she doesn’t want kitschy throwaway dance anthems – basically if Britney would sing it, she doesn’t want it

Throwaway dance music? What planet does she live on? Baby One More Time, Oops, Boys, Circus, Gimme More, and I could go on and on how Britney’s music is so NOT in the trash as people are still grooving their slutty hip bones to it 10 years later.

She speaks such truth. Toxic, BOMT, Everytime, Piece Of Me, so $h!tty in comparison to 'Fight For This Love' and '3 Words' :manson:

News flash you came from GIRLS ALOUD.

Someone tell Nadine to shut this bitch AWF.

Grow up child, it's Ryan Tedder who said that originally, talking about the songs he did for Cheryl.

Cheryl is a massive fan of Britney and has always supported her, even when she went through her blackout. So stop believing eveything that's in the paper, that makes you look stupid.

tbh I think it sounds like it's a comment made by Ryan and not Cheryl LMAO!

Please.

And you wonder why people think you look delusional on this forum. The article isn't clear, in fact it could have been said by either one of them. And official statements aren't "the papers", love.

Either way I posted the article and what I think about Cheryl Cole, I like Girls Aloud not her, so God FORBID I have an opinion. My opinion is her album sucks, and to say she doesn't want "throw away pop anthems", whether that was said by her or her camp is STUPID. She is from Girls Aloud. Not to mention her solo album sounds like a collection of Britney Spears and Beyonce b-sides.

I think Britney fans would be more careful about what is written in the press, that's all. Don't need to overact. Just imagine some hater comes in the BS forum, posts some bull$h!t and uses it to slag her off. You can understand it's annoying, that's all. ;)

(and thanks for the delusional mention :/ ...)

And Ryan Tedder isn't her "camp", it's just a guy who proposed a song to Cheryl and who should shut the f*** up.

Edited by Bert for Lashes

(*coughs*)

Can you all please take this arguing elsewhere? This thread is about a comment about Cheryl and Britney, but it is unknown who said it. I personally am a fan of them both, and really can't see Cheryl having said this about Britney, especially as 'Graffiti My Soul' was originally recorded by Britney.

I only said this because you referred to me as "child" and that I came across as "stupid", for posting a reliable source in here. This could have been an intelligent discussion, but when you start you're comment off with a derogatory comment towards the OP, surely you aren't thinking the other person is going to come back and be polite towards you?

Theo: I have said countless times I like Girls Aloud but do not like Cheryl as a solo artist... so the GMS comment doesn't really make sense?

This isn't just about BRITNEY either, she was just an example. But to say that she doesn't want pop anthems... what else is going to work for her? Do you really see her having any success with an urban record? I personally don't.

Yeah, to me as a massive fan of both, this is an off-the-cuff remark made by RYAN TEDDER about Cheryl. Nothing to do with Britney or any real conversation at all.

Fair enough. But the point is that the head of her label saying "she doesn’t want kitschy throwaway dance anthems". Which is basically what she has been doing with alot of her solo work and with Girls Aloud. And obviously I don't think all of it is "throwaway" as I'm a huge fan of GA and Britney.

People take my sarcasm in here too seriously. As I'm sure the Nadine comment is what threw Bert off.

I getchu babe.

I think it's a complete non-story tbh, what's a "kitschy throwaway dance anthem" after all... if you've got an anthem on your hands you're lucky. Poor journalism which is only making Berty very unhappy. :(

THANKS FOR MEDIATING THIS ARGUMENT ANDRE.

Hugs and kitschy throwaway dance anthem's all around.

f*** you too then.

The comment came from the DS interview where Ryan also made the Leona comments.

Anyway:

You've also been in the studio with Cheryl Cole. How's that going?

"I'm trying to get it as personal as possible. Cheryl likes something real. I had a long meeting with the head of her label and he said she doesn't want kitschy throwaway dance anthems - basically if Britney would sing it, she doesn't want it. Actually, there's a song I did with Alicia Keys that was finished too late for her album and I'm convinced it's the perfect song for Cheryl Cole. I'm desperately trying to get the demo out of her label's grasp so I can play it for Cheryl. It's a ballad in my sense, so it's got massive drums and it really moves, and it'll give you goosebumps when you hear it."

So it's Ryan's comment. Not Cheryl's. Cheryl doesnt want throaway songs - yes I lol at that bit - but it's Ryan who implies Britneys songs are that type.

Thank you Ryan! And if anyone has any objections, this topic is closed! :)

Reopened as it'll make me a better mod. :) Much positive discussion here please. :)

What?
