Certainly would've been better than Andy. But I'm certain we could've got quite a good result with either The Revelations or Simona :(

John Barrowman's a proper tard...listen to what the knobsack's been saying now. :manson:

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, he says: "I was asked to sing two years ago, and I considered it, but the reason I didn't do it was because of all of the politics. No matter how good the song was, you'd be nil points."

"Also, a lot of people are trying to treat it like 'The X Factor' and 'American Idol.' But it's Eurovision and we're not going to create a pop star out of Eurovision."

Two words: Jade Ewen. -_-

Wasn't a fan of Simona, but The Revelations song was brilliant, we really missed a trick there, it was so contemporary as it fit perfectly with the soul pop revival of 2008...

I tell you, 2008 was the worst year for the UK public's stupid voting. What was Terry thinking by putting Andy through over Rob? And then the public picked the worst two songs out of the six for the top 2. At least in 2007 Cyndi was 2nd, and I liked Scooch.

JB is adorable tbh

I agree I wasn't a fan of either Andy or Michelle's songs really - in fact I only liked The Revelations out of the 6  The UK always treats these things as a popularity rather than a song contest though, hence Andy's win there :( nothing weird at all.

^ yes, 'thanks' to Chris Moyles :/

I preferred his successful campaign to get Billie's Honey To The Bee back to the top 20 to be honest :heehee:

I really don't think popularity played a part in Andy Abraham getting to represent us. Blame the poor sound from the studio or whatever but Andy and Michelle were the only ones who put in a performance resembling professional.

The Revelations had a good song but I'm including them when I say the rest of the performances on the night were laughable.

Michelle really did deserve to go through rather than The Revelations (to say nothing of rather than Andy...). We wouldn't have done that well, but we might have scraped a top twenty from the horror that is the 2nd performing slot.

Is it just me or do we seem to end up performing 2nd a lot of the time?

Far too often. From my memory we have performed in that dreaded slot in 1996, 2002, 2005 and 2008. And to add to that we've had to perform fifth in 1999 and third in 2000! That must be one of the worst performing records over the past 15 years!

And Jerick, they don't have to be famous, but if we do get someone famous to represent us, public interest within the UK would probably rise a bit. At least a couple more million would probably watch if Cheryl Cole was our singer, for example.

if Cheryl EVER goes to ESC for the UK I would littarly pee my pants :w00t:

and I agree, her video premiers atract milions, so imagine the ESC night ratings if she's in :o :drama:

Michelle's song didn't interest me at all, and I'm a massive fan of hers (Sweetness and Do You Know in particular )! I found it very hollow, it didn't click with me in any way. I agree that The Revelations performance wasn't brilliant but it could have been improved I'm sure. I don't think I've heard a worse selection though. 2006 and 2007's UK finals were stunning in comparison!

We seem to have come 2nd quite a lot, too

Has anybody applied for tickets to YCNY following the booking being open?

I have, but I'm really gutted because I missed the email coming in and didn't check my inbox till half 1 this morning, so applied really quite late. Probably won't get hold of tickets now  .

Keeping up with the BBC Eurovision twitter - info on the six acts will be going out to the press by the end of this week, so that should mean either tomorrow or Friday :D

And they also say people who applied for YCNY tickets will find out if they are successful on either Friday or Monday

I hope it's Friday as I'll need enough time to book cheap train tickets if I'm successful

News from twitter:

The person who runs the bbceurovision twitter is certainly not one of the six acts!

One of the six acts was braving lunch in the BBC canteen.

Final rules for YCNY will be received on Tuesday

YCNY probably won't be broadcast in BBC HD

And best for last.....

We find out the acts tomorrow morning :cheer:

Can't wait :w00t:
