Denmark seemed to forget this word too yet they managed a 4th :( :(

I'm not entirely sure how this happened, I guess 80's American influenced pop >>>>>>>>>>>>> 80's British influenced pop  Luckily the top 3 above it, as well as places 4-7 in the top ten were very contemporary :funky:

At least Ken Bruce seems to be on our wavelength...

This idiot from the Mirror has some points right, stating we had a $h!t song but then ends with just saying everybody "hates us". :manson: http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/shelleyvision/20...-wrong-con.html

He's right. Three words why we came last. TONY BLAIR IRAQ. Oh and before anyone reminds me yes I know we came 5th last year but it's still not First or top 3 is it?

Oh my LORD. Please GTFO until Tyron, David, Rich, myself, etc. get into this (pointless and very old) arguement again :manson:

I just GOT TO say that: the second point is ridiculous. Top 5 =- flop, yet 2 places higher = hit. YAY.

EW GREECE you've failed to reach Top 3 for the second contest in a row, let's write an article about the whole Europe HATING YOU

This has always baffled me tbh. The fact that when you bring up Jade coming 5th as an example of how we can do well when we send a song that isnt baffingly $h!t the response is something like ''well 5th isnt all that good is it?''. Exactly the same as Azerbaijan this year, and people being dissapointed at them coming 5th. There were 39 entries and coming 5th is still considered dissapointing? How does that work exactly....

I think Azerbaijan was considered disappointing not just because it came 5th, but that it came 5th with such a campaign behind it (several million dollars I believe?), with no clear winner this year and as the favourite, pretty much up to the end of the contest.

I don't believe that the UK had any of this last year.

Er, then you pretty much contradict yourself. We sent a dated, but classy song last year, and came top five (still an achievement, considering the four songs above us last year were contemporary and better than our entry) - which surely proves that people don't hate us and that the quality of the song has something to do with us coming last rather than Iraq, you utter fucking moron.

Hmm...Dum Tek Tek and Always might have been more contemporary but no way better than It's My Time in my opinion :o I'll give you Fairytale and Is It True though :P

Well, yes, this is subjective :heehee: But it's easy to see how their appeal would've been more universal than It's My Time's...

True, although more countries voted for Jade than Hadise, 32:26 to be precise, she was unlucky to finish 4th thanks to countries with high Turkish disapora being as over generous as usual. I don't say that Dum Tek Tek didn't deserve to be top ten, but Jade really should have been 4th at least in my opinion, in fact after Alexander/Yohanna, I'd say it was easily the 3rd best performance last year!

Dum Tek Tek was, by 109813 miles, the best song of last year. Fairytale, on the other hand, is one of the worst songs over the past 2 years.

IMO.

It was so non-descript for me, right there in the average section of my rankings, I didn't dislike it but it didn't excite me in any way, it just existed and I was irritated that it beat Jade by a handful of points to 4th place :(

Fairytale at least provoked a reaction be it extreme love or extreme hate :kink: The almost 400 points score for it would suggest that extreme hate wasn't a reaction that many people got from it thank goodness!

I didn't like Fairytale to begin with, and I think I was forced into liking it by the fact everyone else loved it.

Dum Tek Tek was good, but I didn't like her live vocals and so she was my 11th for the first semi-final on the night

It should've been an Is It True?, Always, It's My Time top 3 imo.

At least the top 7 this year were all deserved (Greece in 8th deserved to come last in semi-final 1 imo)

you really are a moron arnt you..

if that was a factor then how come we DID still get 5th last year?...eh?... it aint top 3 but out of 39 its farrrrrr from last! pillock!

besides... we were not the only euro country in iraq... many countries in europe either sent their own troops or supported us in doing so.

thickies believe thickies who write thickie drivvel for thickies to consume with gusto...

So erm, yeah - Ukraine were involved too - yet somehow managed to win the year after and finish in the top 2 a further two times? Granted their involvment wasn't as great as ours.. but surely if it was such a big issue for the people of Europe when voting on a song contest, they'd've penalised all countries involved - not just he UK?

Let's not forget Turkey, who played just as big a role but have had a Eurovision renaissance in their results since 2003! :manson:
