46. She performed it magnificently live, it literally sent a shiver down my spine to hear her singing live - she's an amazing vocalist, very raw and emotional - incredibly talented, I can see why she gets compared to Janis Joplin vocally

17 - Same. I was watching the 1999 contest last night and had forgotten the sheer brilliance of Selma. Poor Cyprus deserved a much better placing, but when sandwiched in between Iceland and Sweden, there was no hope :(

Selma deserved to beat Charlotte in my opinion - Take Me To Your Heaven was so typical for Sweden, I mean it's a decent song but All Out Of Luck felt a lot fresher at the time...my favourite song from that contest, so patriotically (:lol:) was Precious' Say It Again! I hadn't even realised it was representing us when I bought the CD single the week before the final...then I tuned in on the Saturday night and was surprised to see them on Eurovision!

46. I honestly think that if Caroline and Malena had swapped performance positions (2nd and last), Snalla Snalla would have runaway with it, it got 318,000 public votes to La Voix's 322,000, which would have been much fresher in the memory of most...

46 - I remember my friend laughing her head off at the lyrics of numerous entries that year, as we had the red button thing on. I think it was the bad crimes lyrics that made her laugh during Maria's performance :lol: . My friends screamed when Charlotte appeared :rofl: . I remember someone saying "What happened to her face?!" :lol:
