Posted January 31, 201015 yr The Sugababes were at The Outside In Festival yesterday at The Sage in Gateshead, where a huge line up of the UK’s hottest talent took to take the crowds by storm. While freezing temperatures descended outside, the mercury was sent soaring inside by electric performances from more than 20 acts, including Pixie Lott, Sugababes, Alphabeat and H-Boogie The venue’s concourse and bar area was transformed into a festival stage, giving everyone on surrounding staircases a fantastic view of the stars. Onlookers could have been forgiven for thinking they’d stumbled into a luxurious Glastonbury tent as hundreds of the 3,000-strong crowd had draped themselves in Hawaiian shirts, flower garlands, shorts and straw hats. Vests, glittering sandals and plenty of fake tan were also on show in the queues for festival-style food and drink. Organised by Whizz Kid Entertainment, The Sage Gateshead and Channel 4 – which will screen highlights next month – the ticket holders got top access to five hours of chart topping music as well as the opportunity to get up close and personal to some amazing artists. Sadly, those expecting to see Jedward take to the stage were left disappointed when they pulled out hours beforehand, possibly because they’d heard X-Factor judge Simon Cowell was also on Tyneside, for the Britain’s Got Talent auditions. Sunderland-born Malcolm Gerrie, Chief Executive of Whizz Kid Entertainment, added: “It’s always exciting to create a new event of this calibre, but to be able to bring it home to the North East is really special.” Jade also tweeted the following picture when the ‘Babes were backstage at the T4 Studios: http://www.suganet.info/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/sugababes-587416789.jpg http://www.suganet.info/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/x2_98f3551-300x225.jpg Thanks to Suganet!
