I wish the general thread was still open because that would be the best place to put this, but the tickets go on sale at 9:00AM european time on February 8, and will be priced as follows:

Semi-finals: NOK 300/450/600 (about EUR 36/55/73)

Final dress rehearsals: NOK 300/450/600

Final: NOK 800/1200/1600 (about EUR 97/146/195)

Ouchie :snif: I was going to go just for the final, but that is crazy expensive even for the crap seats...

People had even forgotten about the pre-general thread existance of this place!

Well that's got to be more expensive than usual, although part of that is because of the exchange rate I'd say.

the problem was that everything was going into the general thread rendering having a forum pointless, we could had just had the ESC thread in the lounge

that's outrageous! I won't be going :(

How much are they usually? In pounds? Someone gave me their ticket from Russia last year for the final and they had pretty decent seats and I'm sure I worked it out to be £37 or something.
Norway's supposed to be the most expensive country in Europe so it doesn't surprise me
Ok, I will maybe sound stupid here but this prices is CHEAP :o

Really? You normally pay NOK 800 for a show? :o
I don't usally go to shows but I was sure it was gonna be 5000 NOK or something :P

Oh well, that would sort of be OK, but this is nearly 100 Euros.... too much :o

Wow that is a lot more than I was expecting, but then again I would say so many more people are going to be interesting in going to this ESC considering it's the first Western contest in many years!

Shall have to see how it works out with my budget. I was planning on going on a mini backpacking trip stopping in on the ESC final en route... we'll see...

you didn't want to see anything in the final did you? will cost you about £200 for a good seat :o imagine how much re-sellers will charge once this lot sell out instantly!

£80/£90 to go to the final? That sounds pretty reasonable. Hotel prices would be the killer I'd have thought...

I just think it would be nice to experience the ESC live, and for once it's in a country I actually want to visit too, plus Oslo is on a travel route I've been wanting to do for years, so I am definitely thinking about it. Shall talk it through with my friend tomorrow, if she doesn't want to pay that much then that'll be the end of that.

they're extortionate - the cheapest I found was a hostel type place for £60 a night - actual hotels started from about £100 a night I seem to recall - plus I didn't find any that are anywhere near the arena

And this is why I doubt I'll ever be able to go to Eurovision unless we/Ireland win again any time soon :(

I probably should have given MF a miss this year and gone to ESC instead, but I had a feeling that Norway would prove to be horribly expensive/unaffordable

I'll probably only be able to go if the UK win, because at least then, I don't need to buy plane tickets. Or maybe if a cheaper city wins....where would it be cheap? I want to know who I'm supporting this year! :P

And yes, my general thread might have meant there wasn't as much point in a forum, but now we might end up with about 39 threads (one for each country), which I feel is a bit too many to keep track of them all.

Oh, and I had an idea of starting a thread just because each semi-final and the final, as like a "Eurovision 2010: Semi-1 Discussion" thread. Would that be a good idea? I won't be on here at the time, I'll be on the sofa watching, but I'd post my views after, and I feel that would be the best way to post views on the show, instead of scattering different points in all the different country threads, if you get what I mean.

I see Thon Hotel Bristol is on the list of official Eurovision hotels in Oslo. I stayed there and it was really nice, but quite expensive :o (that said, there were three of us). A single room and tickets to the final wouldn't be too bad. Seriously, €90 is actually quite good considering I saw people pay €2 for a banana in Bergen...

With Euros being about the same as British Pounds at the current exchange rate, that is obviously £2. So, seriously, £2 for one banana? I could buy at least 10 for that price in the UK
