May 8, 201015 yr I know this sounds quite belated but i am listening to Bee for the first time. It's SO much better than Satellite! :o I did like it more on first listen too actually, but it got boring quickly and wouldn't have done much at all in Eurovision I don't think. As for the last.fm listens, remember that it's a massive, and I mean HUGE record breaking #1 in Germany, and been a big chart hit in Switzerland (12 points to Germany, thanks) and Austria (we miss you ), so the bulk of the listens come from the fact that it's already a big chart hit in some territories rather than people anticipating it for Eurovision.
May 8, 201015 yr True, but that's just proving that if a song is massive in some countries it will at least be appealing to other ones. Not many songs get huge only in a couple of countries without leaving a trace in others, especially after such global thing like Eurovision! :o Although i think i'm talking about the post-ESC effect, which is most likely to happen with Lena (i.e. her becoming quite massive), but there's a chance she'll receive instantly great reaction on the song so that it could influence the results! Are there songs that flopped in ESC and became huge/massive/big in Europe after? :o

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Satellite went the same way, and if it does go on to become a hit after flopping in the contest, thanks to juries marking it poorly, I think there will be another uproar!
May 8, 201015 yr My 21000th play on last.fm went to that, let's say, *disappointing* 'My Casette Player' song :drama: :nocheer:  I know this sounds quite belated but i am listening to Bee for the first time. It's SO much better than Satellite! :o :nono: This bitch has so many listens on last.fm already (300k)! Rybak has only 4 times more and that's one year after Eurovision. Lena will smash Eurovision to pieces! <3 :dancing: I agree with this one - as long as you don't mean "bitch" in a bad way :kink:
May 9, 201015 yr I'm not exactly blown away by the album although it's very good in places. I said this would be the case! Yet I love Diana Vickers album, whose never had a top 3 hit in my singles chart  The best things on My Cassette Player are the three German final songs and the some of the covers - I'd rate the album as follows after two listens; Satellite - 10/10 - #1 in my personal chart for 5 weeks so far - enough said. My Cassette Player - 7/10 - Breezy but not that interesting. Not Following - 7/10 - Nice enough but I can see why Ellie Goulding gave it away. Forgettable. I Like To Bang My Head - 6/10 - Sounds like it's using a riff from a Chic classic or something, but Lena's additions to it are fairly bland. My Same - 9/10 - One of my favourite tracks from Adele and Lena does it justice I'd say. Caterpillar In The Rain - 8/10 - This is a very pleasant ballad, weird pronunciation of 'caterpillar' though. Love Me - 8.5/10 - My least favourite of the three German NF songs looking back, but still very good in the context of the album. Touch A New Day - 5/10 - I forgot how it went whilst I was listening to it. Not a good sign. Bee - 9.5/10 - My initial favourite from the German NF. I don't think it would have done very well in ESC but this is a very nice, happy song. You Can't Stop Me - 7/10 - The sort of sound that was big in the UK in 2008. But again, this is rather average. Mr Curiosity - 9.5/10 - I have to confess, I'm not familiar with the Jason Mraz original. But this is gorgeous. I Just Want Your Kiss - 6/10 - Nothing special. Wonderful Dreaming - 6/10 - Boring. So everything written specifically for this album is a bit average then basically  The songs I already knew and the covers are great though  Hopefully it will grow though!
May 11, 201015 yr "It's pretty hard to determine this year but with the hype, attention and chart success it's been getting around Europe even before the contest has started, I'd be gobsmacked if Germany fell to their usual bottom half of the scoreboard".
May 11, 201015 yr Who said that, or are you quoting yourself now? It's a comment on "All Kinds Of Everything", on this page to be exact. Said by one Richard Stuart-Turner...I wonder who that is :P
May 11, 201015 yr Author  Awesome, I did that, but I can't have said anything interesting enough... Anyway I think I put Ireland first and Azerbaijan second :kink:
May 11, 201015 yr It rings a bell, I feel like I said it somewhere, maybe in another thread  We predicted the same top 3 :o Richard Stuart-Turner U.K. Germany Azerbaijan Croatia Denmark Turkey Jack Sargeson U.K. Germany Azerbaijan Croatia Romania Slovakia Tom K White U.K. Azerbaijan Ireland Armenia Germany Turkey [is this yours, Tom?]
May 11, 201015 yr Author Oh yeah, that is me :o Where did you see that? I think I'm overrating Turkey btw, but they always do really well, I don't like it much tho.
May 11, 201015 yr http://www.allkindsofeverything.ie/Oslo201...predictions.htm Your quite near the top. I'm a bit nearer to the middle (but still before the middle), and Rich is near the end.
May 11, 201015 yr haha, I knew it rang a bell but couldn't remember how! I always enter that competition but have never come anywhere close to winning :drama: I love how my comment was deemed interesting enough to publish on there!

Oh I never noticed that page before. I did it sometime in the first week, so I knew I would be up there. I got excited when you said I was near the top but then I realised we don't know the result yet
May 13, 201015 yr I entered as well, although I put Germany 5th which I'm now pretty sure isn't going to happen. I've had quite a turnaround in the last few days regarding Satellite, and contrary to what Rich predicts, I would now be pretty gobsmacked if it manages to finish in the top half.

Really? I don't think it'll win, but I wouldn't go THAT far.
