Let's hope that Mikey doesn't just get the top public vote because of his name then, because the song really isn't up to much at all

imagine if Mikey wins now

the other three have no chance - I think it will finish like this

1. Niamh

2. Mikey

3. Lee

4. 40's tribute

5. Europop thing

You might be forgetting that Lee was absolutely horrendous in the live vocal department last year, I hope for 5th but 4th is probably a bit more realistic for him.

Haven't heard any of the songs (except Niamhs which is quite nice, but I think I need to have a few more listens) but if Lee's last live performance is anything to go by I don't want him setting a foot near eurovision.

Mikey is kinda the least well known member of Boyzone though (although that's not saying much). I think Niamh will be fairly close enough to him in the "vote for name" stakes and then hopefully her performance and song will be enough to send her over Mikey.

Does anyone know where I can hear the songs?

I suppose Niamh would get quite alot of votes based on name alone too. The Irish are very proud of the glory days, and alot of the general Irish population seems to be convinced they'll win again if they just send Johnny Logan back

So I'd say that way of thinking will apply to Niamh as well.

I'm also getting quite impatient to get mp3s.

I only want one MP3, not interested in the other four :P somebody send Niamh's song my way when they get it please :D
Actually, I just heard Ecstacy In Heaven or whatever it's called, loved it  very early 00's cheese-pop  easily my second favourite overall :drama:

I think I'll be voting for Niamh....although I haven't heard the other songs yet.

Listening to Niamh's song again, I'm getting the feeling it will be 1000 times more enchanting and emotional on stage (one of those songs that aren't done justice on audio files)

Considering she got €50,000 worth of recording equipment when she won You're A Star, the production is awful. :P Leanne will get the Limerick vote, but that's about it.

It's hard to tell what the production's like on a low quality radio stream :( it can't be any worse than the production values of most of the Icelandic entries

Niamh sticks right out of this final five just like Hera Bjork did out of Iceland's final - it's an incredibly professional great song up against four forgettable cheap productions. She'll surely win by a landslide?

This. Although the celtic bit reminds me of Titanic.

Lol, true!

I hope she wins, but I can see the public voting for Mikey just because he was in Boyzone...

If anyones interested I've found Mikey on youtube:

Boring has a new home :/

and here's Does heaven need much more:

Quite surprised, wasn't expecting it to be uptempo...

Poor Mikey, I've always thought he's underrated (he's better than Shane and Keith at least vocally!) but he is the epitome of forgettable isn't he :(

Here is Lee Bradshaw - River of Silence

Not commenting on this until I see the live performance, no doubt the live performance and this song will sound like two different songs altogether...

Can't find Fashion Queen :(

Wow, Lee has my vote :kink:

Seriously though, it HAS to be Niamh, or it's another year in the semis for Ireland...

This is the country that sent a puppet over actual talent in 2008. :kink:

The one about heaven sounds quite nice.

Fashion Queen is too old-fashioned - even by this year's ESC standards, which have a few retro sounding songs.

River Of Silence is very average - I'm getting bored.

Mikey - the chorus is nowhere near powerful enough. A minute in and the song seemed to be going nowhere, and I think it's only 2:22 long :o

"It's For You" - not amazing, but the best in the selection, and if sent to Oslo, I certainly can't see it missing the final. About the comparisons to "My Heart Is Yours" - I can see a similarity, but this is better :P

Lee has a nice chest - but that doesn't make up for the average song

But in my opinion, they did manage to send the best song last year ^_^

Yes but the difference is most of the songs this year aren't intentionally dated (Denmark, Macedonia, Malta off the top of my head), whereas this song is going for that 1940s retro type of feel. It's not a case of the writers being stuck in the past!

That said, it doesn't make the song any better, or change that fact that it's a criminal rip-off of Candyman.

I hope we don't have to sit through a Jerry Springer interview for twenty hours again this year. :nocheer:

*prays that the juries don't all give Mikey Graham the top vote*

tbh I have a feeling Niamh will be endorsed strongly by the juries.....at first I was worried cause I thought she'd have an unfair advantage since I thought they juries would vote for her because of her standing in eurovision. Now though it's looking like a blessing in disguise :P

I'm just thinking what an injustice it would be for Mikey to beat Niamh tomorrow....

Just like how I thought it would be an injustice for Dustin to beat Leona

and like how I thought it would be an injusice(somewhat) for Et Cetera to beat Out of Control

:(

Just found Fashion Queen I wanted to post the vid here, it's not the best their are a few gaps in the audio but it's all I could find:

I quite like it although I think it needs more work done to it.....

Ok I've heard all the songs now I'll order them based on my favourite to least fav:

1. Niamh Kavangh - It's for you

2. Leanne Moore - Does heaven need much more?

3. Monika Ivkic - Fashion Queen

4. Lee Bradshaw - Rivers of Silence

5. Mikey Graham - Baby, everything's wrong with this song (although it might jump ahead of Lee on the live show....)
