I loved her song the most so I'm really happy she won!

She really can do without the backing singers though tbh, It felt like they were just getting in her way rather than adding anything to the song :(

I hope this qualify.. but I think it's another DNQ for Ireland... :(
I'm SURE it will qualify. But I think it will be bottom 5 in the final :snif:

Niamh had by far the best song but i agree the backing singer especially near the end of the song are pitched far far too high and sort of over shadow niamh in a bad way so i hope that toned down.

I hated that fashion queen song, the leanne moore song was quite good but would do nothing in eurovision, mikey graham song was ok but bland and forgettable at the same time.

I hope Niamh qualifies, but its so hard to know as i still think the irish entry last year deserved to qualify and i still enjoy that song so its hard to know but id love niamh to win again.

lol it's funny how before she won everyone seemed to be going: Omg she's going to do it again for ireland!!

and now it's like she'll be lucky to get past the semis

As long as we're not stuck in the semis I don't think people care after that. :P But I do think she'll do quite well in the final. The titanic bit will ring in the votes. :P
Yes getting out of the semi's is now like a victory in itself for ireland, i hope niamh has the chance to do alot of promotion around europe before eurovision as it will benefit hugely if she does, jade ewen did it last year for the UK and it paid off so i think Niamh needs to do the same.

I think Niamh will benefit greatly from the judges, kinda like how France benefited alot last year from the judges (they got 8th overall but ranked like 17th on public vote alone)
Ya very good point, Niamhs song will definitly go down well with the judges and could well the wild card they pick in the semi.

The judges now have a complete 50/50 say in the semis as well remember.

I think this will get out of the semis no doubt and will get at least mid-table in the final for Ireland.

Yes I know it's similar to Norway's song and it's predictable, but Niamh can really sell it, and I think it'll go down great in the hall.

No I don't think Niamh would be a wildcard, I think she could get to the final on her own merits.......however in the final I think she would need help from the juries to get higher...

Why do you think this will do so much worse than My Heart Is Yours?

I love both songs and I'll be the first to admit they're incredibly similar, so I don't understand how you can see them both getting such different results. Is it just because you're from Norway and you're hoping that Diedrik does well but you don't actually think he will, or is it something else?

Because to be honest, apart from if they're drawn close together which would be a nightmare for both of them, I actually think Niamh could cause trouble for Norway. Both songs are great, and similar, but Niamh definitey has the edge vocally and in terms of performance.

Oops...double post! Happens to the best of us.

I think Monica should be proud of her result getting 3rd being the outsider in the odds. :)

I think it's a song I might listen to again. ^_^

Right choice, and glad she got all the maximum points. It will 100% qualify, and I could even see it winning. Come on, if you don't think this has a chance of winning, then who do you think does?

I thought the backing singers were ok until near the end, so something has to be done about that

I hope this qualify.. but I think it's another DNQ for Ireland... :(

Juries have 50% say in the semis. It's performing in the second half. UK can vote in it's semi.

How could you think that? :o

The negativity towards the entry is bizarre. I'm not being patriotic or anything, but this is the best song we've sent since 1996 (in my opinion, of course!) and people still aren't happy with it. We've tried everything and people still aren't pleased. :P (This isn't directed towards anybody here, but towards the ESCtoday community). Don't even get me started on the "she's too fat" comments. -_-

Last year people were complaining about Et Cetera and how they all wanted to see Ireland with a strong ballad, and now that we have an amazingly strong ballad they want an up-tempo song.

The only thing I would change about it is the backing singers, but they aren't even in the recorded version, so they can afford to leave them out. And it has some similarities to Norway's song. So what? Norway's song has more similarities to You Raise Me Up than It's For You has to My Heart Is Yours! (I'm not anti-Norway here, I just can't see what the big fuss about a few similar notes is about. And I'll probably vote for Norway in the final anyway!)

Will it qualify? Yes. Will it do well in the final? Not sure, but getting to the final is good enough for us so we don't care after that.
