Glad we didn't send justin collins :S

Anyway, they were playing the Irish song on the radio when I woke up :) They also played bits of the Norway, Armenia, Azerbaijan and iceland songs and they probably played others that I didn't here....

They likened My heart is your to My lovely Horse :kink:

How ironic, were they also likening It's For You to the same song in that case? :kink:

If Ireland gets slot #24, I think it wouldn't be a disadvantage to Ireland, just Portugal. People would see how much better Ireland is compared to Portugal
True, but Filipa and Niamh both have big clear voices, and arguably the Portugese girl is better looking :heehee: :nocheer:

You can't argue with that but Niamh has such a charming face/look (just like Hera) it's almost impossible not to fall for the song she sings

She had some strange facial expressions on Tuesday night.

And this is a song contest :P Portugal has a language barrier and have never won. Ireland have no language barrier, and have won 7 times. I never even expected Portugal to qualify, but I fully expect Ireland to make it through

Did anybody hear Marty Whelan's comment on Macedonia's song on Tuesday? "It's called 'I have the strength' or 'Jas Ja Imam Silata' if you are from Portmarnock"

I hope you're right. I love her, but I think 80% of the ESC viewers outside the UK are straight

The tingling sensation of nervousness is starting to kick in already :P

I hope we can do it, two Dnq's on the trot and the last time we were in the final we came last. We need some eurovision joy to happen!

edit:

A tip for all of you, DO NOT read youtube comments on Irelands song, they are full of depressing Wogantastic comments from fools who believe ballads are a thing of the past in eurovision even in the face of the fact that Serbia won with a ballad, the uk came 5th with a ballad and Portugal has qualified in the last three years with two balladlike songs. I hate how people seem to assume that eurovision is just about people dancing around in skirts....I bet the people making those comments don't even watch eurovision anymore or very much and are just basing it on what all the skeptics say. :manson:

Also Belgium, Croatia and Azerbaijan are quite ballad like, and they're considered favourites.

Ireland's second dress rehearsal that took place today...watch at your own peril!

Let's hope she gets the last note spot on later. :D

she will perform better tonight im sure of that, that blue dress she is wearing i wonder is that what she is wearing tonight as if so she looks terrible in it and does her no favours. Still all i can say is she is a great singer its a great song and we IRish deserve to qualify tonight,im just so nervous we wont though, i will be so happy if Ireland name is read out tonight in the qualifyers list.
That's the frock that she is wearing tonight. That video doesn't do her any favours at all, but she looks stunning in the more professional pics. :D

I hope if we qualify we get called out fairly early......if we're called out last I'll have already gone into sad sulky mode. :(

For a second, I thought you were on about the running order for the final, and I was confused

Remember, Iceland were last to be called out last year, they had a ballad, and came 2nd in the final. Maybe it would be a good sign for Ireland

Not only last year lolz, i must check if Eurobandið were announced at the last moment

Maybe a good sign for Ireland but not for my health! :P

Why? What's the point in sulking if you still have a chance?

I know what you mean. When Iceland were announced last, my mum was literally screaming "SAY ICELAND!" at the TV :kink:

Yeah, all my favourites were read out last in SF1, hope it doesn't happen this time...
