:o at the ongoing Boyzone/Ronan connection with ESC

1997 - Boyzone interval/Ronan presenting

2009 - Ronan writes Danish entry

2010 - Ronan writes Irish reject/Mikey gets to NF with own composition

looking forward to seeing what Ireland pick much more than usual, I notice Ralph Siegel and Bernd 'John O'Flynn' Meinunger are writers in this selection too - will they ever give up?

We get to hear the songs tomorrow :w00t:

Yeah, can't wait! I hope there's a song I like, if there is, then vote vote vote :)

Ireland couldn't have done much worse in the 00's, particularly compared to their utter domanince in the 90's...I hope this decade brings them some more success (and better entries!).

Absolutely.

"RTÉ reversed an earlier decision to allow the songs into the public domain, in order to create as equal a playing pitch as possible. With Monika Ivkic based in Austria and Mikey Graham spending a large portion of his time in London, working on the "Dancing On Ice" television show, neither would be in a position to promote their Eurosong enties. Instead, it will be Derek Mooney and guests that present the five songs to the public between 3pm and 4.30pm on Thursday. You can hear the show, through RTE's website and if you miss them, there will be a podcast on the site, later that day."

Is Irish time the same as UK time?

Is Irish time the same as UK time?

Yeah, it's the same time.

Anyone listening live to this?

Song 1 - Lauren Moore - Does Heaven Need Much More?

Horribly produced europop mid-tempo plodder. Sounds like a UK entry from the mid-naughties. Rich will probably love it :kink: Commentators compare it to Aqua. Scores from the jury, 3/10, 4/10, 7/10, 3/10. My score 5/10.

It's gone all Gaelic now

bah, forgot - tuning in now!

so I've missed generic identity free pop (we have Sugbababes for that now :kink:) and something gaelic?

The Gaelic thing was just the news I think

It's the Ralph Siegel song now...

This song is quite average and dated sounding...sounds like something from one of the Icelandic semis...would do NOTHING in ESC

When i heard Gaelic i got a bit scared :(

Song #1: Horrible. End of. 1/10

Song #2: Hideous. 2/10

Doesn't look well does it?. :(

Song 2 - Lee Bradshaw - Rivers Of Silence

Mid-tempo pop rock, weirdly Ronan tbh. Bit of a hottie :kink: Pretty well written, but it doesn't sound like a winner. 7/10.
