Loved the performance, Rolando's comment about needing to work a bit more on his upper register,

I don't think they could give him dancers or people to relate to as all of them are short. Having someone who only comes up to his armpit probably wouldn't work. Cyrus must be about 6 ft now.

They have been saying over on DS that two people will go out next week leaving only two for the final (male and female would be good  :D ) and that they will sing a duet with the mentors - maybe that is why D would love to sing a duet with Katherine!

I would hate Darius to duet with Katherine. In the X factor finals, when Rhydian sang with her, she seemed to do her level best to drown him out!

Madame cholet you have said exactly what I was going to post. She did her best to annialate Rhydian and that takes some doing, she did not try to make it a duet it was going to be all her.

It'd be great to have two men singing together and two women. I just hope Darius is in there.

that would be perfect, it would be not so good with two women finalists, totally unbiased view of course ;D

There's a much loved duet from the Pearl Fishers for a bass baritone and a tenor - it's called Au Fond du Temple Saint.

 

Although their voices would work together, I'm not sure it would work performance -wise with Rolando and Darius - it's about friendship ...............and Rolando does not seem friendly to Darius at all. Firstly accusing him of not learning his words and then of playing games and trying to in Meatloaf's words, hustle them.

 

The show went back up slightly in the ratings and in percentage share of its time slot last night.

 

I really can't think what Darius and Katherine might sound like - She has such a different style and loves trills and vibrato. Darius is more fluid and smooth. I think the strongest part of his voice is deeper than Rhydians.

 

This one from 1982 but I love it.

 

It is a lovely piece

 

French though -even if Darius did it perfectly someone would still say he hadn't.

Rolando certainly wasn't happy abouy Danny going. I feel all the judges were hoping Darius would be in the bottom two and then they could get rid of him. I know we will always favour Darius, but surely others can see how things have been stacked against him and things made easier for other contestants. I also hated the duet between Rhydian and KJ. Thought it helped him to lose X Factor. I still would like to know how the voting will be done next week seeing 2 people are going. Will it just be the two who have the lowest vote from the public? I really hope it is and the judges have no say. Sue

What happens in X Factor/BGT - they appear to be a big part of the template.

I expect it will be the lowest two, if D goes at least he ownt be on his own, all we can do is vote again ! all he can do is his best.

 

I wonder what Rolando was saing to Danny when they were on stage with him, I cant see any reason why they would prefer Danny, unless they have big bets on him winning..

I really really would love for Dairus to win this, if only to stick two fingers up at them, i wonder if it ever even entered their heads that Darius would be any more than a novelty factor..hey come see Darius mess up again sort of thing

Katherine jenkins drowned Rhydian when she sang with him. There was no thought for the other singer like the girl who sang with Mika last night who tempered her performance to fit with him even though she was so much stronger.

I don't think Darius always does what he's told. That annoys some people but since it's going to affect his life, thaen he should have a say.

Had a chance to watch it back again now and the judges faces at the end were a picture. KJ looked in shock at the final 2 and LLB's body language said it all, also his statement 'neither of you should have been in the bottom 2.' According to his comments he wouldn't have put Kym there, nor would he have chosen Bernie so that only leaves Darius! So worried that like someone else has already said, they are going to try to make things impossible for Darius next week with their choice of song. Sue

we must muster all the votes we can tbh, then we know we and darius did our best, we know he got more votes than marcella,and she is fav to win. prays they dont scupper him, it will be obvious if they revert to tenor aira after what they said.

I was forwarding frame by frame trying to make out what rolando was saying to danny on the stage with KJ

is there something about meatloaf and danny dueting, or working togehtr - perhaps they wanted danny in for a duet with meatloaf. LOL

I have to say that I am worried about the choice of song next week, feel they wont give him the chance to put on a performance as he did this week, I agree with all that Sue says . They said D was good but no chukka chukka..

You know, I'd never noticed they weren't supportive of D.
