He still does that when he's really unsettled and unsure

he is so sweet, that does take me back a bit,liking his hair at the moment, I felt like hugging him when LLB was laying into him. but I suppose he must have known it was coming,

He did that during pop idol.

His "tells" as poker people would call them - signs that he's got his defensive shield up and isn't as confident as he's letting on.

 

He used to bite his lip on PI too.

 

If the VT hadn't been shown, LL-B wouldn't have had the ammunition to fire for those ridiculous comments. In the time he wasted we could have had something constructive from katherine Jenkins.

 

This show has shown that LL-B's gloss is a bit distressed looking, a bit threadbare.

I don't know if it'd help him if others saw the lack of confidence kept hidden most of the time. All this was about the past, the beginning of this series and his doubt about whether he'll be good enough. You can tell him as much as you want that he has a fantastic voice, he just hasn't the confidence to believe it. Never stops him trying though.

Darius has to start giving himself some credit for his successes instead of thanking Tom Cobley and all. It just gets misunderstood, described on Friday by Titchmarsh as grovelling.

 

He should start acting like the star he is.

I'm not keen on the thanking for and begging for votes either, but maybe it helps, I'm not sure either way. I don't remember seeing it from D before, so maybe it shows how much he would like to win this.

 

When Bernie said after her first perfomance week 1, it means a lot to get such comments from one's peers, I thought how conceited she was, putting herself on the same level as Katherine and Rolando. I'm still not over impressed with her, although she has certainly developed. If D made a statement like this, it would be much closer to being accurate than Bernie making it IMO.

If he acted like a star he wouldn't be our Darius, would he? That classic gesture says it all.We know just how vulnerable he is and that's why it hurts when others are so nasty to him. I think he really is amazed at the amount of support he's got, and I hope he's just got his head down now rehearsing and he's not listening to any negative comments.

Wonder if he will be on any programmes this week promoting the final? Sue

If he couldn't sing, I'd be more prepared to let it go but he has the greatest potential there. How come no one ever says anything about Bernie's breathing> Vanessa was pulled up for breathy vocals. Having said that, all round, Bernie was my favorite from the girls.

I agree, Megham, I do take offense that some are putting D's votes down to fans voting whatever, fi I thought he wsnt up to it, I would be embarrassed to push him into the final, as it is I really think he is showing something special, all it needs is more training tbh. I really think people can see his vocals etc are good. comments on twitter from people who are into opera and classical reassure me that, as some were convinced a two girl final was being pushed for by the producers, and comments were so much as to say voters had heard a good voice regardless of the'shafting' as someone put it. all I ask is he really gets on with it in the final, pulls out all the stops so he knows win or come second he knows he impressed.

Darius can't be half hearted. He always has to do a job to the best of his ability - probably what caused the trouble last week. If he were more secure he'd trust the choice of aria but having had to slog at an aria for a tenor a couple of times, he really doesn't feel at ease.

Darius should be proud and confident of his talent. He's the only one who looks really comfortable performing the songs and he really is like an opera star!!

It's incredible that when he's acting he comes over as confident. It's just when he isn't and is being himself that the vulnerability comes through.

OMG!Its already less than a week to go now till the final!!.........................I will be completly $h!tting myself and hiding my face behind the cushion when the results start!!!GOD,we're all going to be complete nervous wrecks!!!!!

Marcella has a wonderful voice but it's exactly the kind of voice which turned me completely off opera when we had to do musical appreciation in school. I always skipped any tracks from opera on the Classic experience CDs.

 

On the whole, Bernie's voice sounds more pleasant to me except for all that breathiness which Vanessa was slated for when she sang Mio Bambino Caro, which I thought was lovely.

 

I just don't like high voices. That's why I found myself in the modern music wilderness since Darius went to the US. I've still to work out why I couldn't take to Rhydian's voice on CD.

I never could watch him. Again, I don't know why.

 

I think this is going to be a very quiet week because they have to learn 2 arias.

 

 

agree, i am on tender hooks, am sure darius will want to just get on and get the arias and duet right, at least he has experience of duets...i hope he can really make sure he isnt drowned out, lol i drempt they switched off his mike last night.

 

i also dislike high voices, not many women vocals i like, barbara streisland i loved.

 

same for me, i cant take to rhyidans voice..i could appreciate he could sing, but no pleasure for me in listening.

 

i would just like to enjoy darius singing without the constant rubbish he gets for just doing something well.,
