I can't see any ware that says Bernie is going to sing with Rolando. I'd be surprised if she didn't but I can't see an announcement.

glad its that one, as I think that won a fair few fans! plus if the veiwing figures went up 600000 the next week, a lot wont have seen it..just last weeks one.

 

I couldnt find any announcement re bernie and roland..but its a fair bet, I wonder if they will may them do a proper opera scene while performing the duets? hang on - Katherine has she ever done any acting, I think sh e is just a singer?

 

just had a reply from SB, saying he has been 'supporting Darius from the beginning, he's a good baritone and we like those' and would swap votes, I hope he does vote LOL I said we should swap votes Blake for Darius and us for their brits nom..LOL

Wouldn't be surprised if Bernie did the one in which she dressed as the young boy because Rolando commented last week that he thought that was her best performance. As you say Meg, what other choice had Darius, although I enjoyed that one. LLB said last week, Darius was at his best during that performance so wonder what he'll say tomorrow to counteract that. Sue

mm, I didnt like that one much, I didnt feel that one at all, she was supposed to be a boy wasnt she -

I think her breathing has only been out in the last two performances.

her voice sounded tired tbh last week, it must be quite gruelling on them both. good job Darius' seemed one he managed easily..well made look that way!

If they have to do the duet as a full scene, Katherine or not, I think Darius will have the edge.

 

He has much better stage presence and seems to know more intuitively where everyone else on stage is. They're not judging the mentors, they're judging the finalists.

 

Darius has moved around on stage and sung in character at the same time. He even had to remember to pick up his 'list' from the little wine table last week and get hold of the goblet again before he finished. He's always made it look very easy to sing well, breathing properly and give a complete performance.

Only 24 hrs to go.

too true, will be interesting to see what they do - afterall it is opera star..and that entails acting out the opera arias.

wonder what the other contestants will be doing? or ar they just 'there' toorrow, well except Jimmy

I sincerely hope the judges will show some restraint for once an d speak objectively . Last week meatloaf told bernie i.e. everyone watching that she should be in the final and Rolando said the bad news was he didn't have his phone to vote ofr her! I thought that was outrageous during a semi-final.

it was really bad tbthey have been desperateto swayopinion.

bernie says darius is singing with rolando, she with katherine, thn they are signing with both. and boh doing week 4 arias.

i didnt like that one she did week 4.. although the clip they showed this morning made my ears bleed, god she looked very strained....lets hope darius's nerves are better than hers....

Well, I'm sorry folks.... I got it wrong again!!lol, but I'm really glad that D is duetting with Rolando. I have not got a clue what the'Pearlfishers duet' is, but anyone who knows anything about opera seems to think it will be really good for Darius and hopefully that is what it will be! 60/40 split in favour of Bernie in the voting so we'll have our work cut-out but I'm feeling a lot more optimistic now!! :D

Win or lose, it's worth every penny to hear and be able to record a dvd of Darius singing a duet with an internationally renowned tenor and more especially so, if it's the cream of the crop re bass baritone/tenor arias - Au fond Du Temple Saint. I hope they don't cut it a lot.

 

A lot of the charm in the Pearl Fishers/Temple Saint is the way the voices blend when they countersing.
