If Darius hadn't been good, then it would have been an insult to him and the other contestants to vote for him to win. I was more than happy to vote for him voting and felt the result was the right one.

I'm not sure I'd agree it would have been an insult to D to vote for him if he hadn't been good. We all know he has a wonderful voice, but if he'd had a really bad cold or had forgotten the words to an aria, I don't think it would have stopped me voting for him, or indeed most others on this site, though this is only my opinion of course.

 

I'm just glad that when it got to the final, he got a fair crack of the whip, and when that happens, win or lose(but hopefully win ;) ) I can handle the result, just as D can :)

I'm very glad D won, I think he was very deserving for the quality of performances he has given the audience during the series. He had his bad patches but he isn't a professionally trained opera singer as he has been singing pop for years and I always felt that the judges were quite over-critical of him sometimes because of this?

 

Anyways, winning this series is exactly what he needed and I certainly contributed to that. My, my o2 will be very happy with their bonus when my bill comes in at the end of this month! I really enjoyed everyone who was on the show and I felt Bernie deserved her place in the final but her first performance of the night was SO shaky compared to D's - but then that must have been nerves!

I agree, aninvasion, I felt D deserved my votes, if he hadnt I may not have voted as much..I for sure wouldnt have voted for anyone else.. only he makes me pay over good money, usually rather a lot...But I know he deserved to win, and it means so much more to him than Bernie

I know, even though I don't ever vote on TV things as a generally rule (as it is just me supporting my own phonebill) I really felt the need to vote for him from the third week until the final.

 

I dunno, Bernie is talented but I just felt that D deserved it more especially as the judges were so quick to bash him all of the time!

I agree with the last sentence Baytree but I think she has realised that D performing his aria as well as singing it was popular with the audience and maybe she is looking to change her style.

I didn't watch. I haven't seen Katharine act, so I don't know how she'd do. As I said before, I like her. No one else appeals to me as much as Darius does though. He deserved to win but he was well aware that he stood a good chance of losing.

He's lucky to have such a supportive family. It's lovely to see them so close.

I was watching an interview with John Barrowman the other day and his philosophy was work creates work and it's better to do something rather than nothing.

 

I think Darius should adopt a similar attitude. I'm not saying do things he's really dead set against but perhaps just get out there as often as he can whether it's his ideal role, event, show and whether his part in it is large or small, just keep showcasing his many talents.

Yes, apparently she did sing it on JR show. I quite enjoyed her performanc of it on DOI. Mind you I always find it hard to concentrate on the singing and skating at the same time. Didn't some one say she is a good friend of ALW and that's why she got to sing it Carolina? Sue

It wasn't KJ who sang it on JR. Can't remember who did sing it but def not KJ

I believe it was the lead actress from the show who sang it on JR, I did see it and the melody stuck with me immediately and again after KJ sang it on dancing on ice. What is odd I have read that the leading actress is releasing a single of that song and KJ is also releasing that song as a single.

I read a while ago that KJ was releasing it before the official one. IF she does, she'll drop considerably in my opinion.

Just read an interview from the Scotsman with KJ. where she discusses crossover music, she is the l3th highest paid musician un der 30 and she is have lessons wih Placido Domingo with a view to doing opera at some stage.
