I am positive - just not in the way you'd want me to be. It'll not discourage me and will actually guarentee that I'll watch and that I'll vote. I couldn't stand him to fail because of other people's actions.

I hope this rumour is NOT true - Meatloaf is singing Bat Out Of Hell on this Friday's Show.

I heard Meatloaf singing at some festival on tv a few years ago and he was awful. His voice seemed shot, like many people's seem to with the advancing years. Even with his baffoonery as a judge on this show, I still like Meatloaf and have loved some of his music, so I hope for his sake he doesn't embarrass himself :unsure:

 

I have had an idea about sponsoring family to vote for D on my behalf, paying them for their calls. I am in two minds about this, as I am not sure if I want D to win as a result of doing this and also the fact that I don't have an infinite supply of money at the moment. I do definately want D to win though, so I'm stuck here in two minds right now :unsure:

 

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this please?

I would do it, but then I am so desperate for D to get to the final - I am telling myself this will only be one or two weeks of voting at most..after that I start saving again, LOL, plus I havent had my hair done for a while..and havent bought a new dress..any excuse really to say I can spend that on the phone bill, I have recruitd a couple of relatives - then I did for PI..LOL

 

this could be the last voting thing he ever does.and its for charity.. right, thats enough excuses for me.

Can't believe that I forgot about the charity contributions :rolleyes: That's certainly one big plus for me to recruit, and it's looking unlikely that I'll be able to attend the final, so that's a couple of hundred pounds that I won't be spending I guess. It's just this feeling of is it a real win for D and is it what he would want us to do?

We're all just getting a wee bit panicky.

Rolando's album is just outside the top ten of the main chart in the mid-weeks. It must be much higher in the classical chart.

Its difficult to be positive when the consensus of opinion on DS also gives the champagne aria the thumbs down.

There's no point in worrying about things we can't change.

 

If he's been given it, he has to sing it or quit. I can't see Darius doing the latter. However, I can't help him in any way with the interpretation or performance. That's up to him.

 

I don't use facebook and I don't tweet so there is absolutely nothing I can do for Darius until the phone lines open immediately after the last person sings on Friday.

Ive just listened to all the performances of this aria on utube and all I can say is dear god - Half of them are to me having difficulty in keeping up and I do wonder about the orchestra on the show itself..It hasnt got what I call money notes .

Worrying. Why couldn't they give him an emotional song to really show his talent and move the viewers?

1) Darius sounds more impressive in stripped back performances?

 

I love to hear him sing unaccompanied or with one instrument.

 

2) He's too good an actor?

I agree with this but I also feel it would be nice if D could go on and win something, rather than just being a bloody good loser. He's settled for mediocre results in his music sales, certainly compared to the quality of his work produced, and I want him to win this not only because it's what I want, but because I genuinely feel he has been the most consistent and best performer looking over all of the weeks, even with the curve balls he's had to deal with.

 

It's time D got what he deserves, huge success, so even though this isn't the platform I would have chosen, I want him to succeed here and go on to great things. If GWTW had been given anything like the chance it deserved, he would most likely be featuring in another key musical theatre role right now, though once again, that's not really what I would choose for him.

 

I want D's success for D and for all of us who've been there from pretty much the start, and have kept faith and been exceptionally patient!

 

I want him to be appreciated without people having great fun trying to pull him down. It's hard for us to see, his family must hate it.

I wnt him to win, I odnt feel guilty that i am voting a lot - if he was not deserving I may think twice? but he is IMO the best, His voice has a tone and richness whihc is so goood, and he delivers a great performance and gts the character.

Kym has shown no colour in her voice, and has sung nothing with any gusto, she even sterilized teh Carmen song.

marcella I just dont like her harsh cold notes, there is more to opera than that

and Bernie, well she keeps slipping into pop voice, breathing wrong and her timing was out last week..and gets gushed over coz she hit a high note, I pthink I like her the best form the females, but tbh I genuinely am enjoying Darius, plus he has had the most journey..form tenor arias to dicovering his true register etc, the girls have stayed the same form the start IMO.

 

I shall be glad when this show is over tbh, my nerves are all over the place come friday

Darius has at least achieved one thing with this programme and that he is the best male on it.

I think we already knew that though. He's the only one with a voice that could be trained operatically. Two of the girls are as well but they are too old to start the training now. Really, they are shooting themselves in the foot by putting the only possible one at a disadvantage all the time
