I was standing in the queue at IMAX Glasgow waiting to go in to see Avatar when I checked twitter. After laughing I then used the very useful Sky+ app to record the show. I knew it would come in useful. I'll need to set it to record every day until he is on.

My phone is 3rd hand. I doubt very much it'd let me do that. Well done for managing.

great news, Pam. He'll still have your vote.

Great that you found someone to vote for you Pam.
We get two more songs from Darius on Friday and we know he isn't going to be on the first flight back to LA this time :D .

yes, and the experience of dueting with kj or rv, something i bet non of us would have expected.

i know he will give it everything, and in my mind he is the wnner already, i genuinely do not think berne will be the rightful winner if she wins on votes, cant help be biased, but i think he has entertained more and has teh better voice for listening to,i cant take hers for very long..

But then you don't like sopranos very much. It's like people who don't like baritones not liking Darius. All that is fair enough. As long as what they are given to sing is equally tailored for their type of voice and vocal range.

I think the right two got into the final. Marcella was extremely good but couldn't relate to the subject physically - I think that's the only reason she didn't go through. Kym was just not at the same standard the other three had reached. Probably because she didn't take it seriously.

More people have seen Darius sing and act in the last 5 weeks than in all his time in MT and I think at least some of his stage presence has made it over on TV.

And even the judges have had to say how good he is at performing.

I've just read a blog complaining that pstos was making out that it was easy to be an opera singer - and then complaining bitterly that they hadn't reached operatic standards in the 2 months they've had. Now, either it's hard to sing opera and takes years of training, or it's so easy any singer should pick it up in a couple of months and be pefrfect opera singers. You can't have both in a genuine programme.

No, it's just that Darius makes it look so easy.

He had half a week to master Finch'an al Vino, one of the trickiest baritone arias and practise choreography with eight others all moving around a good area of the stage, with Darius himself moving and having to pick up and hand over props.

it is a ripe for the operatic purists moaning that it takes years to train, months to learnone note, to get the muscle memorylung capacity,,, then griping that the contestants werent as good as opera singers, as said you cant have it both ways -what is nice is that there are plenty of these people saying that of all the contestants, darius has potential, a lovely voice to work with, and hoping he would do some training towards classical etc
if he doesnt use this as an opportunity to release a cd,or even a download..it would be a crime. i really want him to use this as cv for mt as well. i am so scared he will miss the boat again, especially as the others are really milking this show to their own endsregarding albums etc, hopefully new management is a good sign
What does the winner actually win at the end of the programme?

David over on Facebook (i.e. the one that likes to cause heated debates!! :D ) did post a while ago that he had heard on a radio programme (don't know which one) that the winner would perform at Covent Garden but in what or for how long for, he didn't mention!! I just hope that if D does win this show, he doesn't get too involved with whatever will follow and the album and tour will get sidetracked again!! Whatever he does, I just hope he keeps the momentum flowing after all this publicity!!
