The girls all came down to London for the weekend and we went along to the studio with no tickets, on the off chance and YEAH we got in and it was fabulous.

Thanks to Sue H and two other ladies who were kind enough to let the 6 of us have some of their spare tickets. The audience was mainly made up of production guests and only appx 50 public tickets got in.

Thankfully we were all encouraged to vote during the add breaks, so all 6 of us voted like crazy.

It was lovely to see all the family, and Jacqui, who couldn't more pleased and spent a long time after the cameras had stopped rolling taking photos of D in the chair then D with Cyrus and Aria.

After a few celebratory drinks in the pub opposite we were then lucky enough to be ushered into the foyer of the studio to spend some time with Darius. We greeted him with a round of applause and he joined in our cheers :cheer:

I will try and post some photos tomorrow, it would have been tonite however my car is stuck in a car park that closed at midnight, I will be asking D to pay the fine :naughty:

Darius did say he thinks he will be on Alan Titchmarsh show again next week, 'singing the winning song' but D did say that when he spoke to Alan he didn't know anything about it !! so watch this space.

Its now 2am and I am having to sneak in the girls hotel room until 7am when I can rescue my car

It was his third appearance in the final of a reality show, and third time lucky for Darius Campbell as he claimed victory over Bernie Nolan in Popstar to Operastar.

The 29-year-old received the most votes from the public in a final which saw impressive singing from both singers.

In fact, it was a close call between the two throughout the show, with both putting their all into their performances.

Winner: Darius Campbell embraces Bernie Nolan after he is announced as the victor in the final of Popstar to Operastar

Both finalists were required to sing three times: Once on their own, secondly in a duet with their mentor and finally in a group performance.

The odd couple who are the best of friends: The original Mr Nasty Nigel Lythgoe on his old adversary Darius Campbell

Popstar to Operastar: Kym Marsh weeps after performing song that reminded her of 'someone special'

For their first song, the stars were given the choice to perform their favourite number from the series so far.

Darius chose Non Piu Andrai, from the Marriage of Figaro, which he sang two weeks ago to a rousing reception.

Strutting around the stage in his military-style jacket, the reality star, who shot to fame on the Popstars talent show, gave it his all - joined by a group of dancers dressed as

With an almost flawless run of performances so far in the series Darius Campbell took on the final of Pop star to Opera Star with zest, and a confidence that disguised his nerves at having to sing in front of his family.

And, obviously buoyed by his choice of song, the 29-year-old received top marks from the judging panel.

Cheeky: Reality star Darius impressed the judges with his confident performance of Non Piu Andrai

Favourite: The singer chose to sing the Delibes number after being filled with confidence during his performance two weeks ago

Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins told him his style had settled much more into the bass barotone of his voice.

While an impressed Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen said: 'You're back on form. It was a very sexy, very cheeky, very Darius performance.'

A beaming Darius couldn't hide his pleasure at the feedback, despite being spooked by Meat Loaf jokingly telling him the seat of his trousers had ripped.

Bernie Nolan followed Darius' performance with her take on the French classic Les Filles De Cadix, by Delibes.

A firm favourite of the Nolan sister, she launched into the song with vigour, reaching the kind of high notes that would crack even the most sturdy of wine glasses.

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen: 'You are bringing a new audience with you, making opera the new rock 'n' roll.'

Impressed: The judging panel gave Darius plenty of positive feedback

Katherine Jenkins: 'Every time you sing, you make me smile and I'm sure your mum is smiling down on you too.'

Bernie has previously admitted that her appearance on the show is dedicated to her mother.

She said: 'My mum was a trained opera singer. She's the only trained singer in the family. She won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in Dublin, but she didn't go because she wanted to do musical theatre.

'One of the reasons we're doing this is because my mum would have been so proud.

'She always wanted one of us to follow in her footsteps. Of course, we never did, we all went into pop.

'Not only would she have been so proud, but she would have been able to help me. She's not with us now so I'm doing this for her, really.'

French fancy: Bernie took hold of Les Filles De Cadix with due aplomb

Smashing: The Nolan sister reached the kind of high notes that would shatter even the most sturdy of wine glasses

Next up was the duets round, with Darius singing The Impossible Dream from the Man Of La Mancha with his mentor Rolando Villazon.

In the lead up to the song, he announced: 'It's an honour to perform with a vocal hero'

With a steely gaze in his eyes, and wearing a blazer with gliterring lapels Darius matched his mentor with a deep, bass-driven take on the song.

He embraced his mentor at the end of the performance.

Holding back tears and visibly moved by the duet with one of his heroes, Darius told Myleene Klass, who was also fighting back tears: 'I just found out today that, ten years ago, I had my first ever final in this very studio in Popstars. Then I had my second final, four years later.

'It's been an honour to perform here in front of my family. That was a dream come true.'

Dream: Darius said his duet with mentor Rolando Villazon was a dream come true

Embrace: The singers share a hug following their amazing performance of The Impossible Dream

While the two remaining judges, Meat Loaf and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen were full of praise for the duo.

Ms Nolan and her mentor Katherine Jenkins followed Darius and Rolando with a rendition of Somewhere from West Side Story.

A powerful duet ensued with both ladies giving the song their all, Ms Nolan matching her mentor note for note.

When the song had finished, Bernie told presenter Myleene Klass: 'To perform with Katherine Jenkins, I looked over as she sang the first verse and thought "On my God, I've got to follow that!"

'I enjoyed every second of it.'

Although, not as emotionally charged as the previous couple, the performance was still a solid one, as acknowledged by the judges.

Nerves: Although she was worried about performing with the talented Katherine Jenkins, Bernie showed no signs that was unnerved by the performance

Strength: Bernie's mother was an opera singer and she has dedicated her appearance on the show to her

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen spoke for himself and Meat Loaf when he announced: 'Throughout the show you've been one of our most popular contestants, Bernie.

'To have the confidence to perform like that, all of our hearts are with you.'

An incredible four-way performance featuring the finalists and their mentors closed the show.

And, slightly worried that singing in a group of four would hinder their chance for one last chance to impress the voting public, both singers joked that they would like to kill one another before the hit the stage.

However, they both stood out with solo stints throughout the song.

The close brough the house down with Darius, Bernie, Katherine and Rolando harmonising in unison.

The end: Left to right, Katherine Jenkins, Darius Campbell, Bernie Nolan and Rolando Villazon perform the final song of the show

It was the perfect end to the show, and was met with a standing ovation from the audience.

And so, finally, Darius and Bernie stood side by side, as Myleene announced the winner of Popstar to Operastar.

Darius appeared shocked and emotional after his name was read out by the presenter - while, Bernie proudly cheered him for his win.

She said: 'It's been a ball, a privilege.' Before thanking everybody who worked on the show.

While Darius had no time for a speech, heading off to get ready for his final song - Non Piu Andrai - which he sang with a renewed zest.

Inspirational: The final song led to a standing ovation from the studio audience

I was so pleased that there was no bias against Darius in the VTs or otherwise in the final.

It was the duet which changed some of those who had really appreciated Darius throughout the competition into voters although they never vote in any of these shows.

I was wrong about their voices - they worked very well together.

I'm glad Darius got to sing with Rolando. Earlier yesterday I thought he'd just fallen lucky but after watching both duets a few times, I don't think Bernie's voice would've been strong enough to match Rolando singing like that.

Rolando's arrangement gave key solo moments to Darius - the start gave him a chance to sing very low indeed, the laid to my rest lines gave him one of the most emotive parts and a chance to sing more pensively and Rolando's work at the end really highlighted what Darius was singing. The part where they were quite close and facing each other was fantastic with Darius showing some of his power.

I sincerely hope the VT of HMBOMT will never re-surface. It's taken Darius ten years to shake it off.

I see it's reported that Colin Firth is tired of D'arcy following him as if it was the only role he'd played up to then. He'd been acting for 10 years before he did P & P. That was seen as a great triumph. Can you imagine what it's like to have one song you sang ten years ago and viewed as your nadir following you in the same way.

Glad those who managed to go to the show were able to vote as well.

Sorry you weren't able to get your car....but I'm sure you'd rather have spent time with Darius.

So pleased you were able to spend some time with him.

Looking forward to seeing your photos.

Darius Campbell has been crowned the winner of Popstar To Operastar.

Campbell reached the final alongside fellow singer Bernie Nolan. The pair performed in front of the previously evicted contestants as well as a live audience in the race for first place.

Following their songs, the two lined up for the result as host Myleene Klass prepared to reveal the public vote. In the pause prior to the announcement, several audience members called out for Nolan to win.

However, Campbell was named victorious, looking shocked at the news as Nolan congratulated him.

After the result, Nolan seemed unfazed by her defeat, saying: "Thanks everyone... it's been amazing."

Campbell then closed the show with a final rendition of 'Non Piu Andrai

someone on another site has suggested a PSTOS tour.

I was having quite a miserable night last night :( I watched a really sad episode of House, straight over to Eastenders to see Bradley's demise, and finally onto Corrie to see Joe's body discovered. I was on a real downer, but got excited when D started to sing and ended up over the moon  He's some pick me up that man :D

I'm not sure I'd want to attend a tour of PSTOS, and I certainly wouldn't want it interfering with a Darius tour, but If it came after I might just have to nip along :) DVD makes more sense IMO, as you're not going to have the expense of putting on a tour and the risk of not selling enough tickets. At least whatever happens, D is on a winner :yahoo:

a DVD would be great, now if they could edit out everyone else just for me..

wouldnt go see a PSTOPS tour, but if Darius did a tour of classical crossover etc would love that, loved Maidstone so much.

and he really ought to get back into MT, I do so see him in Phantom!! he sange 4 times last night, not including rehearsals..and still didnt look at all puffed!!!

I would like a tour of classical crossover also and would enjoy the aria from marriage of figaro which he chose last night on the album would remind me of the show and sort of made it his.

OMG! OMG! OMG !OMG! and just 1 more OMG!!!!.....DARIUS WON, WON ,WON!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :cheer: :cheer:

OMG! Soooooooooo Totally Awesome!!Sooooooooo Happy and soooooo Proud of our Gorgeous SexGod!!!! :cheer:

OMG! Soooooooo cant wiat for this tour that he promised us now!!Sooooooo Exited!!!! :yahoo:

Darius Campbell wins ITV's contest

(UKPA) – 1 hour ago

Pop singer Darius Campbell won ITV's Popstar to Operastar contest, beating Bernie Nolan of the Nolan Sisters in a close contest.

Nolan hugged Campbell to congratulate him on his win on Friday night and he said: "I've had a ball, it's been a privilege, I've enjoyed every minute of it, I'm going to carry on with opera."

Then Campbell repeated his performance of Non Piu Andrai from the Marriage of Figaro by Mozart and called out his thanks to the viewers.

After his first rendering of that song earlier in the evening, panel member Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins told him: "It was your usual standard, brilliant."

Designer and critic Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, another panel member, told him: "I think that was you back in form. That was a very cheeky, very sexy, very Darius performance."

Nolan performed Les Filles de Cadix by Delibes and Llewellyn-Bowen told her: "I thought that was absolutely wonderful, I think you are bringing a new audience to opera."

Former Pop Idol contestant Campbell also performed a duet with another panel member, the tenor Rolando Villazon, of The Impossible Dream, from Man of La Mancha, while Nolan and Jenkins sang Somewhere from West Side Story, prompting the fourth panel member, rock star Meat Loaf, to declare: "Bernie just rocked! Unbelievable!"

Campbell, Nolan, Villazon and Jenkins joined together to sing Brindisi by Verdi from the opera La Traviat
