Just heard Bernie and K's duet again, and although K sounds a little nasal in her performance, her voice is just so silky smooth compared to Bernies. Bernie does have a higher voice, but not in the same league as K IMO. I'd like to think whoever D sang with, that he would have won, but I think it was a slight advantage(for once) that he got to sing with Rolando.

 

 

Rolando expressed the difference " I want him to shine" and his arrangement encompassed many chances for Darius to do exactly that. I'm sure Katherine did Bernie but Rolando gave Darius more showcase moments

 

He started it really low

 

He got the "gulp" line

 

He got a good shot at harmonising with Rolando and then at the end countersinging.

 

If Darius didn't have such a good strong voice he'd have been swamped and it would have been a train wreck but I think Rolando knew that voice inside out even if at times he didn't understand the man at all.

Someone has posted that in the last quartet Darius' microphone was turned down and funnily en ough I thought he didnt sound as loud as the others especially compared to his other arias.

lol, well I did say I had dreampt someone turned the mike down, I did wonder at one point, as his voice sounded different - as if the volume was down, not that he was singing softer, LLB in a last ditch effort no doubt

I hadn't noticed but then I wasn't particularly keen on Libiamo (Brindisi) so didn't bother replaying it.

 

It's the one aria where I thought Bernie had the edge on Darius, because I could hear her voice coming through clearly. However I think it was probably too late in the show for her, to build up a massive number of votes on the back of it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

yup, I didnt take too much notice of the quartet, sounded like a cats chorus to me,

 

on the rerun I did laugh at Danny, if ever someone looked as if they wanted to be somewhere else..LOL

 

it was nice to see Lemar supporting Dairus, I seem to recall he said Darius was a star and had met him during fame academy,

only noticed Jacqui on the rerun...I suppose she knows the family well, perhaps she wants a second bite of the apple...

You know Darius. They're friends. They met again at that thing recently. He probably said she'd be welcome as a Guest of Darius ( Harry Hill joke!) if she wanted to come to the final.

 

The last thing Darius needs right now is a relationship to tie him down.

Someone tweeted that Darius looked like Captain Scarlet in that jacket. Now there's an idea. They did a live action Thunderbirds on film.

 

I think he'd make a fine Bond villain looking like that.

LOL loved captain scarlet as a kid.

Just change the colour of the tunic.

 

Darius could also double as the Voice of the Mysterons.
