Well that was just unbelievable tonight. No-one would do what Peter did (the pillock!) And how dare he say 'SIT DOWN' to Norris! Norris should have said 'just beggar off - bigamist!' And does Leanne enjoy being a doormat?

No I was disappointed with the whole 'blessing' thing tonight! Thank goodness that the Webster family kept it worth watching (apart from the dire Sawphie!)

I agree 100% I was disappointed.

I was surprised that I like Friday's episode with Peter tracking down Leanne to the train station as it's been done to death, but I was glad to see them get back together and seeing Manchester Victoria getting some screen time!
The scene at the Train Station at the end last night

shame Eddie is going soon.

Corrie is absolutely shocking at the minute. So many of the storylines are laughable, particularly this Liz vs Becky thing (I can't stand Liz) and the ridiculous Chesney and Katie trying for a baby (?!?). The only decent things going on at the minute are Janice/Trevor and the stuff at the factory.

Good performance from Maria just now. She's very underrated.
LMAO oh my god, that ending

I disagree I think the storylines are pretty good - and the acting is brilliant (certainly the best acting in any soap at the moment.) I love the guy who plays Trevor (and the character himself is good) but the story with him an Janice, for me, is THE most laughable thing about Corrie at the moment. The only good thing about him coming back is that when he leaves he's taking Janice with him (good riddance!)

I can't stand Becky to be honest - and as much as I detest Liz - she's right - Becky ruins anything she comes into contact with. She's a bloody awful mother ... and that child Max would be better off with his foster parents (or even Kylie & David) than with a drunk with a seriously bad temper.

I honestly don't know how anyone can say the storylines in Corrie are ridiculous when the stories in Eastenders are absolutely preposterous. I mean - how many 'long lost' relatives can a soap have turn up? Frigging hell - surely there's a reason that they stay lost is the thought of coming back to a minging mess like Albert Square.

But we're never going to agree. You think EE is brilliant - I think its total rubbish. I think Corrie is brilliant - you think its total rubbish. But I stay out of the EE thread now. I don't go in there telling everyone how sh/te it is. If you don't like Corrie - don't watch.

She's another of Soaplands worst actresses. Seriously Jark - I'm not trying to be argumentative (you even make my top three in the rate) but obviously our ideas of good acting are poles apart. The best acting tonight (in fact any time in Corrie) comes from Simon Gregson - an actor that can easily turn his hand from Comedy to Tragedy in seconds - and he is the only (constantly) underrated actor.

Kath

LOL well as we have already concluded, we'll never agree. Personally I don't rate Simon Gregson particularly. He's far from the worst in Corrie but I hate that he only seems to have one mode. He behaves in the same manner when he's angry as he does when he's joking around. It's very bizarre. He always has a mental grin on his face even when he's supposedly furious. I do feel sorry for the character of Steve though, surrounded by two pretty terrible women, although I don't agree that Becky is a bad mother - I think that's the one thing she really has going for her. The lengths she went to to keep hold of Max prove that.

Well if we're talking long-lost relatives how are you going to explain away the arrival of Tommy Duckworth next week LOL? Although I'm not actually sure who you're referring to in EastEnders. It's a basic fact that soaps are over-reliant on long-lost relatives though, they're all as bad as one another for it. It's just something you have to except.

I also fail to see how the acting in Corrie is 'the best in any soap at the moment' - the only quality acting I've witnessed this and last week has come from Alison King, Samia Smith and the always-reliable Sue Cleaver (plus of course supporting characters like Julie, Gail and Hayley). I don't rate the acting of characters like Liz, Kylie, Frank (very wooden attempt at 'menacing' businessman - right down to emerging from the shadows to put the frighteners on Carla like a bad b-movie!) etc. Whereas over on EE at the minute you've got Charlie Brooks stealing every single scene she's in, some wonderful stuff from Lauren and Whitney, and of course the on-going performance of the year from Shane Richie who's been an absolute revelation throughout this baby swap storyline.

But I don't think Corrie is 'total rubbish' (and kindly don't tell me what I think!) or I wouldn't bother watching. What I do think is that Phil Collinson isn't realising its potential with some very lazy storytelling (for example having Liz suddenly turn on Becky just to give her an exit storyline - totally out of character) and some very poor writing. The tram crash week was fantastic from start to end but they haven't planned the aftermath especially well.

I will openly admit im not corries biggest fan and think eastenders has and is miles a head of it especially in the acting stakes. However, my girlfriend is a fan and i have seen quite a bit of it lately, i do like becky and i hate the way Liz is treating her at the moment and its somewhat out of charactor but i guess they need to build up Liz exit storyline, never liked Liz myself so am glad she is going and Jim likewise. I disagree Becky is a bad mother as she was great with steves daughter(cant think of her name) and Max and for me she is misunderstood at times and i can see why she does some of the things she does.

I agree about the comment they didnt plan the aftermath of the live episode well as corrie is all over the place in some ways but coherent in others but whats totally bugging me is the complete over use of tracey, she is there to pick up on every single conversation in the street to turn to her advanatge or mouth off and its getting so tedious now and deirdre defending her each time when she knows she is a cold blooded killer is ridiculous.

Eileen and Julie i do like and eileen is very under used, for me sally webster is turning out great work and i truly enjoy watching her although her daughter sophie and her girlfriend and rosie wreck my head and are terrible actresses as is Dev, and why they brought sunita back is beyond me as she and dev are just pointless and dull.

As for the long lost relatives, all the soaps do it again and again and its something i just accept now as a way of introducing new charactors, i think every soap is very guilty of that. Overall i dont think any of the soaps are turning out their best work at present but at the same time they have been in worse positions in the past.

I have been watching Coronation Street a lot recently and i'm losing all intrest in it, I prefer Eastenders now as it's improving but Hollyoaks atm is VERY underrated and i wish people would give Hollyoaks a chance.

What's wrong with just introducing a new character - without having all this nepotism. It just isn't true and its the biggest farce and as far as I am aware - Eastenders is the biggest offender. Now we're to have Tanya's 'long lost mother' who appears to have a face that would frighten a police horse - Tanya must have gotten her looks from her father ... doubtless he'll turn up after being lost in the wilderness for years.

No (with the exception of a few duffers who need culling - Becky, Fiz, Maria, Janice) Corrie is miles ahead of anything else at the moment with Eastenders as the worst of all the soaps (even Home and Away beats Eastenders.)

Lee - much to my chagrin - my husband likes Hollyoakes better than them all!

Kath

I dont watch all the soaps so i cant comment which is the worst but i do know from what i do see eastenders isnt!!

If corrie is to axe charactors i would say llyod and his girlfriend, maria and her boyfriend, rosie webster, dev and sunita, pointless emily bishop and possibly fiz, john and chesney.

Corrie is just as guilty as eastenders for long lost relatives, ken barlows long lost son/grandson on numerous occasions, beckys sister kylie, emilys nephew guy a few years back, julie been eileens long lost or unknown sister, norris brother, the baldwins were famous for long lost relatives, sons etc, the upcoming duckworth, gails father etc, as i said all soaps are guilty of this.

I'm sorry but Corrie is every bit as guilty for this - like Aphrodite said we've recently had Becky's sister (never before mentioned), and we're getting Jack Duckworth's grandson (ditto) and Roy's mother in the next few weeks. Tanya has actually mentioned her parents on numerous occasions so they're not 'long lost', and Ann Mitchell is a pretty good-looking woman for her age?! Certainly nothing worth being rude about. The woman's almost 72, she scrubs up bloody well for my money.

Chris Fountain appears in Corrie next week as Tommy (Jack & Vera's grand-son.) He takes a shine to Tina and annoys Kevin at the garage. I think he's moving in with Tyrone or something.
