Yesterday's episode of Corrie was hilarious! Absolutely loved the rat storyline, one of the funniest things I've seen in ages!

My favourite bits were when Tracy was showing Simone around and Simone said "is that a rat?" and Tracy said "it's just his mother"! Steve jumping up onto the chair when he heard about the rat and of course Beth thinking the rat was her phone! :heehee:

Made an episode which would have been very downbeat with the Marcus/Sean story absolutely brilliant! The rat storyline may have been very contrived, but it was still hilarious!

If I see one more scene with Roy and Mary playing chess, I will rip my f***ing hair out. Like, seriously?

Jane Danson continues to be the absolute highlight, although her being back with the DREADFUL Nick is rather lame.

The Sunita and Karl unraveling of the affair storyline i believe will be great, Stella will go absolutly mental when she learns of everything. I would say they will go with this storyline for the Christmas storyline.

They get found out in a week or so.

I disagree about the chess scenes, I love them I could watch a whole episode of them playing chess

...and they continue with this UTTER horseshit.

I 50/50 agree/disagree. Although I find the situation a bit uncomfortable (for Roy at least) anything that gets Mary to deliver her one-liners is OK by me. She's the funniest character (genuinely funny - not forced) in any soap (in fact any tv show) at present.

:teresa: The Slap was good shame Stella is going she is a good actress. Does that mean the whole family are going Karl and the daughter.her comment about Sunita's airbags was funny.Saint Leanne is so annoying she would have never got Simon ex prostitute non blood relative etc.

I agree about Leanne! Just when Stella had done a good job of bringing her and Eva together (and needing them to be together) and Eva had made an effort herself to talk to Leanne - Leanne pipes in with 'I would have said something earlier!' TWICE!!!!

Her character makes my blood boil. The writers always seem to do her smelling of roses and erase all her misdemeanours.I mean ddint she sleep with Carla's ex hubby years ago.

Stella's leaving? Where is this confirmed? And isn't it a spoiler?

Yup The actress said it on tv missing her family or something. Maybe I should have spoilered it I dont know how though my bad :teresa:.

Stella's not leaving.

Yep she is check digital spy I saw a interview with Michelle Collins 2.

No, she's not. Believe me, Digital Spy forums would be breaking open the champagne if she was! The only thing I can find is something where she says she 'almost considered quitting' because of the criticism over her accent. She hasn't left.

I have to admit I don't mind Stella. There's certainly a *lot* worse on Corrie and Michelle Collins is a better actor now than when she was Cindy Beale (but Cindy will always be the more iconic character!).

Cindy's character on Corrie is ok - but why did they feel the need for her to have a northern accent (hers is awful). People do locate from the north to the south and the south to the north - you'd think scriptwriters would realise this.

By the way - the worst actors/actresses on Corrie are streets ahead of any on other soaps (with the possible exception of Emmerdale - which has some fine players).

Why has Corrie's Denis storyline been stolen by another soap. At least Corrie waited 40 years to bring a character back (by way of two young do-gooders) - there's one on another soap who's barely been missing a couple of months and he now comes back looking like Yosemite Sam (oh if only he could act as well!)

I don't mind Stella but it's as if shes thrown into every scene offering people a chat in the back.

Sweet Kath, your memory seems to be getting more and more selective! I suppose you've forgotten that Leanne Battersby's return storyline in 2004 was a carbon copy of Sam Mitchell's from 2002? :D There's no such thing as originality in soap anymore, and I'm quite sure Corrie isn't the first to feature a tramp or homelessness...

I would argue Coronation Street has some of thw worst actors from all the soaps, that said they have some great actors too, but so many of the charactors are contrived far too strongly and it doesnt come of well. The whole affair reveal was disappointing to say the least, the scene where Stella caught them was just so bland.

I agree that Corrie does have some bad actors (although the characters a good - I'm thinking for example Anne Kirkbride - yet Deidre is a wonderful character, William Roache - awful actor - but he's Ken and he has to stay). The good thing about them though - they know their limitations and thats why they'd never leave the Street. Awful actors from other soaps have thought they were bigger than the show they were in and failed miserably - proving what awful thespians they were for the world to see (and then you find them crawling back to that soap because no-one else would have them  ) By the way - when is Sharon coming back to EE?

I have to agree with you on Stella though - but I found the whole Stella/Karl/Sunita storyline awful and unnecessary. No way on god's green earth did Sunita convince as a sex-siren and Stella's accent is just too off-putting (even though I like the actress who plays her).
