I think Mary is the killer.

If it'd be David, I'm sure Tracy would've just tried to seduce him again.

Tracey's not dead ... but I think the person to give her a pretty good headache is

Claire

.

It is

Claire.

I'm loving Tracyluv's return. Her dire acting makes it all the more funny.

I agree. But give Kate Ford her due ... in interviews ... she NEVER claims to be a good actress. For me ... her hamming it up just makes Tracey even more watchable. And Anne Kirkbride ... bless her ... she is a pretty bad actress too ... but my goodness ... no-one could play that character the way she does. It seems, along with William Roache, that all of the bad actors in Corrie have been constrained to just the one family. A bit like the Slaters in Eastenders (until Lacey Turner arrived and spoilt it by actually being a good actress.)

Back to Tracey's 'accident' though ;) the outcome is going to be quite complex as

Becky

becomes embroiled in helping

Claire

getting out of the country.

I'm confused why they make Tracy so rude to EVERY character she meets. I'm guessing there will be a few celebrations for her attack.

I'm confused how this will pan out, because the spoiler I read says that Tracy blames Becky, if so, why wouldn't she blame Claire? She wouldn't particularly care about doing her a favor? I know Tracy is quite vindictive, but would she really go that far to get her kid that she doesn't even seem too interested in?

Well you have to remember that Tracy has been brought back so they can advertise a big name return. She doesn't actually have any purpose or motivations whatsoever.

Tracy blames

Becky, despite knowing it was Claire, because she hates Becky more than anybody, presumably because she has Steve rather than because she has Amy and she has some deluded fantasy of her, Steve and Amy lauding it over the rest of the street. Becky helps Claire escape town and go on the run though so I guess Becky manages to convince the police it wasn't her and then attention turns to Claire somehow.

Graeme is leaving the show. Last screen appearance will be in July.

Shame really!

It really is the only way to go though isn't it? I mean

Mrs Warboys dies on him next week

. Its becoming a very enjoyable 'One Foot In The Grave/Fawlty Towers' sort of theatre of the absurd! Bloody hilarious to watch but you still have sympathy for the guy.

I'm loving the Kevin/Sally storyline and love the way they're going to progress it.

Are you thinking of John Stape there  his real name is Greame Hawley or something

I wondered what Kath was on about there

It was Graeme Hawley I was referring to, as for me ... I'll miss his character of John Stape more than I'll miss Craig Gazey as Graeme. After a truly promising start ... (character) Graeme has become truly dull and lifeless ... the sooner he leaves the better (his bloody voice drives me up the wall too.)

Mary - "It was a very long time ago and I haven't touched a chainsaw since!"

That was classic! Pray they never, ever let Mary leave!

I thought that line was a bit try-hard personally. Mary is funny enough without throwing in silly references to chainsaws and a past life of crime.

I think that's why it depends on your sense of humour. For me ... Corrie gets its comedy right 95% of the time and its drama right ... well not so successfully. Eastenders for me - although I must concede it is better 'drama-wise' during the course of the year, it never hits the comedy bulls-eye. I find its humour very forced .... sometimes with characters laughing at absolutely nothing ... whereas Corrie does it with just a throwaway line. And I think you're taking it too seriously ... no-one thinks for a minute that Mary had a life of crime with a chainsaw ... it was just funny ... for the moment.

The John storyline has gone awful again

Gone awful? It was bloody ridiculous from the beginning ... but I still love the comedy of the absurdness of it. How many other dead bodies is he going to have on his hands? I'd love them to go the whole hog and have him killing (or finding dead) Charlotte's parents.

I've been thoroughly enjoying the Stape storyline up until now but tonight's activities weren't gold. The whole story might be ridiculous but smothering Joy and then being surprised when she was dead was beyond absurd.

Ken and Becky really brought the comedy for me tonight. I'm not sure why but Ken's little 'Stalingrad! I've been looking for that!' line really had me in fits.

What? I missed the second one (change of quiz night). I knew Mrs Warboys Fishwick died ... but I assumed she'd just had a heart attack! I'm like you on this ... I've found this whole storyline very enjoyable ... but a bit like watching an episode of The Office, or Fawlty Towers ... you're watching between fingers ... and cringing at the same time. John Stape is becoming the Basil Fawlty of Coronation Street.

I also love the casual way Claire said 'I know you didn't do it. I did!' to Becky.

I'm going to have to watch the omnibus on Saturday aren't I? Its something I never do ... watch omnibuses but I'm going to have to.
