Has nobody read about the return of Tracy Barlow as she attempts to get out of jail by making Gail Platt confess to murder?

I did but there wasnt really much to say lol. It sounds rather lame and absurd.

Oh and first pic of Tracy back on set - that smile has reminded me why I was glad to see the back off her.

Yeah her smile is rather freaky :(

Like you, I just found the storyline to be extremely absurd when I read it this morning...

Coronation Street couple Roy and Hayley Cropper are to tie the knot later this year, it has been revealed.

The Weatherfield favourites, played by David Neilson and Julie Hesmondhalgh, will finally make their partnership official in one of the soap's 50th anniversary storylines, according to reports today.

Roy and Hayley previously had their relationship blessed in 1999, but were not able to marry officially due to legal restrictions. Hayley was born as a man named Harold and could not wed in her new gender after falling in love with Roy.

However, the law was changed in 2004 and the Croppers are now expected to take advantage of the opportunity in December.

It is thought that the pair's wedding plans will initially cause friction as Roy only wants a low-budget ceremony at a registry office, while Hayley wants to splash out for the occasion.

A source told The Sun: "Thankfully, Roy relents after Hayley puts the pressure on and it's a day for all the street's residents to celebrate."

Reports suggest that Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) will also marry as part of Coronation Street's 50th anniversary celebrations.

:cheer: excellent idea for the 50th ^_^

I've gotta be honest ... I wish they'd kill off Hayley! I don't see what use she is at all. I think I've said this before ... but I'm sure if someone had gone through all the emotional and physical pain of having a sex-change from male to female ... you'd start to act and dress feminine! What was the point in Hayley's sex change when she still walks round like a docker and has worn the same bloody coat since she joined. I'm sure they'd make Roy more interesting if they got rid of her. Seriously ... I only know one trans-sexual and she does her utmost to look as feminine as possible ... and succeeds!

BBC

EastEnders favourite Bianca Butcher has been voted 'Most Popular TV Mum' in a new poll.

The Walford newlywed, who is played by actress Patsy Palmer, pulled in 26% of the votes in an online Yahoo survey carried out ahead of Mother's Day this Sunday.

Yahoo's TV editor Paul Johnston commented: "We are overwhelmed by the number of people who have voted for Bianca as their favourite TV mum.

"As loud and garish as Bianca can be, she also has a huge heart when it comes to her children and would do anything to protect them. You certainly wouldn't want her turning up on your doorstep if your kids had been fighting with hers!"

The Royle Family's Barbara Royle (Sue Johnston) came second in the poll with 24% of the votes, while Neighbours matriarch Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) took third place with 12%.

Gavin and Stacey's Nessa Jenkins (Ruth Jones) and outrageous Absolutely Fabulous character Edina Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders) followed in fourth and fifth respectively.

The top ten most popular TV mums in full:

1. Bianca Butcher (EastEnders) - 26%

2. Barbara Royle (The Royle Family) - 24%

3. Susan Kennedy (Neighbours) - 12%

4. Nessa Jenkins (Gavin and Stacey) - 10%

5. Edina Monsoon (Absolutely Fabulous) - 9%

6. Peggy Mitchell (EastEnders) - 7%

7. Deirdre Barlow (Coronation Street) - 4%

8. Viv Hope (Emmerdale) - 3%

9. Myra McQueen (Hollyoaks) - 3%

10. Gail McIntyre (Coronation Street) - 2%

Corrie is coming good again! Eileen tonight ... classic line!

Why were they on Jeremy Kyle? :o That's one big long scene isn't it? It was very good/realistic!

They were on for the whole show (I think you may be able to watch it again somewhere ... otherwise I think the whole show is on youtube in bits.) The actors were on 'in character' to celebrate the 1,000th Anniversary of Kyles' awful show. I thought they were very realistic ... especially David and Michelle (the guy who played Nick seemed to just want to keep a low profile as he just couldn't improvise as well as the other two.) The only unrealistic thing ... and this is a pedantic quibble .... they all had clean hair! Now if you do occasionally watch JK ... you know that all his guests MUST have dirty, greasy hair!

It's making me cringe, I hate Jeremy Kyle.

It is a double-edged sword! I hate Kyle but I love Jack P Shepard.

Finally - Kim does something right:

Amy Barlow has been recast!

Coronation Street producers have decided to recast the character of Amy Barlow for the fifth time.

Amber Chadwick, who played the Weatherfield youngster for almost four years, has been replaced by another actress, named Elle Mulvaney, according to The Sun.

The decision ties in with the return of Amy's twisted mother Tracy (Kate Ford), who is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence for the murder of lover Charlie Stubbs. It is thought that the show's chiefs felt the plot required "a really good little actress" in the role of Amy.

A source said: "Amber was lovely but Elle is a very natural little actress."

As well as Chadwick, the part of Amy has previously been played by Holly Bower, Rebecca Pike, Louisa Morris and Madison Hampson.

Tracy will be seen on screen in May for the funeral of her grandmother Blanche before making a full-time Weatherfield comeback towards the end of the year.

Used to hate David, but these past few months he has been great in this role ^_^
  • 2 weeks later...

Tonight's (first episode) Corrie was excellent, particularly the last two minutes. Nice when two 'older' females in a soap have a great piece of script to work with. And not an Albert Steptoe impression in sight!

Apparently Teresa is leaving in either April or May, I'm annoyed she had so much potential and yet we still have the likes of Kirk, Chesney & Sean.

Coronation Street veteran Bill Tarmey is to leave the soap after three decades years playing Jack Duckworth, it has been confirmed.

The 69-year-old expressed his intention to leave and to spend more time with his family last year, but his wife Ally and the then-producer Kim Crowther and convinced him to stay for the soap's golden anniversary in December.

Storyliners are currently working alongside the show's new chief Phil Collinson and executive producer Kieran Roberts to pen a "fitting" departure storyline for the character.

Speaking of his decision to quit, Tarmey said: "People often ask me if I like Jack Duckworth and I always reply 'Like him, I bloody love him!' I have had the most amazing 30 years playing Jack. Because of him I have made some fantastic friends and travelled all over the world and I will be sorry to say goodbye to Jack.

"I had originally wanted to retire last year but producer Kim Crowther and my wife Ally persuaded me to stay for the show's 50th anniversary and I am glad that I made that decision."

He added: "I have had some great storylines over the past three decades and I am looking forward to seeing what Jack's final story will be."

Kieran Roberts said: "Bill Tarmey and Jack Duckworth have been a huge part of Coronation Street for 30 years and, like his many millions of fans, everyone who works on the show with Bill will be sad to see him go.

He continued: "That said we fully respect Bill's decision to retire and when he leaves Coronation Street at the end of this year we will make sure his character's send off is fitting for one of the show's all time greats."

Tarmey's final scenes are expected to tie in with the 50th anniversary celebrations in December.
