This is a very good track. I've always had a soft spot for synth rock, or whatever you want to call it. A shame this wasn't a bigger hit in the UK singles chart. There's a new track by Phoenix called '1901' which is similar to this which I'm also starting to like a lot too.

It seems slightly odd in retrospect that Ash's most successful single in my chart was 'Star Crossed' which got to no. 2 in my chart yet I wouldn't regard that as classic Ash. One of those momentary tracks that are brilliant for that particular time, but after a couple of years you wonder why. :lol: Their most successful single from this current project is 'Arcadia' which got to no. 12 in my chart.

Good to see someone else charting this one.

 

I mentioned in my chart last week that I'd initially had this down as a top 20 contender prior to writing up my chart. It ended up missing out by some distance. However, I have played this a couple of times over the last week and it's a really good soft rock track. I'm unsure now if it's got what it takes to climb into my top 20 - I can't rule out anything as my mind changes quite a lot with regards to where I think a track will chart and where it does eventually peak.

02. I love ''Hollywood'' more and more ^_^ Expect her next week in TOP10 ^_^ I stll prefer ''I Like'' though. Hope Keri will stay at number one :)

08. I have not heard ''Amazing'' yet :kink: But ''Hot'' is overplayed in Czech Republic! ''Hot'' didn't peaked TOP20 by me, but still I like to hear ''Hot'' at the disco ^_^

11. I love Danish music scene :heart: I like this track, a bit strange but great! ^_^

13. My favorite track is ''Join Me'' too, I used to watch HIM on Slovakian music station :heehee: I like lot of their singles but Join Me is the excellent one!

Whilst I haven't even started thinking about my next chart, there is a good chance that there will be some big new entries so whether Keri can hold off all competition again is left to be seen.

The strange with 'Hot' and even 'Stereo Love' is that it's a very different style of dance music. At first it sounds brilliant and exotic but yet the interest wears off soon and they start to sound empty after a while. That's why I tend to like these tracks more if I play them less. Otherwise I get bored of playing them.

I find 'The Balcony' so endearing. Just something really nice and uplifting about this track. They do sound a lot like Fleet Foxes who have also enjoyed a couple of top 20 hits for me. Can see this sticking around in my chart for some time to come.

If I had been compiling a personal chart in 2000, I'm sure 'Join Me' would've been a big hit for me - possibly even a no. 1 hit. It's all about that haunting piano melody. ^_^
