Posted February 7, 201015 yr terrible film - cheesy and boring!! the bit with the plane was simply baffalling!!
February 7, 201015 yr I really want to see this. I know it's a serious drama, but Matt Damon + Rugby kit = WIN :kink:
March 1, 201015 yr I completelly dissagree that is is terrible. It is anything but imo, and the opinion of the majorty of critics who have praised the film and the Oscar nominated performances of it's two lead actors .. Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman. If there was ever someone born to play Nelson Mandela it is him. Ok so the accent wasnt perfect by any means but it was a bloody convincing performance. Why did you think it was terrible? If you ask me it is an impossibility for the mighty Clint Eastwood to make a below average film. Invictus is by no means up there with his timeless classics such as Unforgiven but it is a very solid film that is made by a masterful filmmaker who gets better with age. I'd say this film easily deserves a 7 or 8/10. I felt linking the politics with Rugby was a great way of telling a certain aspect of the story itself.. and as someone who has little interest in Rugby I was totally captivated during the scenes due to Eastwood's excellent direction. One thing I will say though is that the score was not up to Clint's usual standards. Edited March 1, 201015 yr by Jack Bauer
March 2, 201015 yr Author did you not think the bit with the plane was cringe worthy? and the rugby games seemed to go on forever (im a rugby fan) without getting anywhere or being tense at all. the bit where they explained the world cup format to freeman to aid the audience about who is good at rugby was also laughable - I came out of the cinema laughing as did my mate. i just thought it was very cheesy and 'hollywoody' - clint doesnt mean its a good movie!!
