I'm thinking it's more likely Croatia and Azerbaijan will cancel each other out leading to a German victory.

I was joking - it was mainly in reference to the election

Same actually, it's been one of the more enduring songs. As much as people criticise it, it's one of about 6 or 7 songs which has a 'winner' vibe to it, and had Didrik been performing near the end, I think he still would have had a shot. I still think top five isn't out of the realms of possibility.

Finally :drama: :heehee: someone who understand me

if all the ballads is draw to the end I think Didrik will have a good chance

This will be my final ranking until Eurovision week. No categories, but 01 - 26 are my favourites this year. Everything under 26 is good, but I'd be pissed if any of those won. :kink:

I agree with the above.

Make sure you have the tissues ready on Thursday night :kink: As much as I'd also like to see the Netherlands making the final, I don't see it happening this year :(

The Netherlands has the potential to be this year's surprise qualifier, especially going on after Ukraine. If you watch the "recap" video for SF 2 on Youtube, it sounds like a winning entrant :o

My ESC 2010 CD came through the post today [thank you HMV ], so these are in fact the first full rankings I've done this year.

Finally got the album and giving it a listen. Will make comments as I go along:

Albania; Juliana Pasha - It's All About You

This isn't bad, I spent most of the time trying to work out what it reminded me of. I think part of the production reminded me of Girls Can't Catch's debut. Typical Eurovision really. 6/10

Armenia; Eva Rivas - Apricot Stone

Ooh, Tyron has shown me this before, I remember laughing at the title. I actually like the song, it's the sort of Eurovision production I love. 8/10

Azerbaijan; Safura - Drip Drop

I think I've heard this before - "Battlefield" clone wasn't it? :heehee: Yeah, it's nothing like it, but it's quite nice I guess. I have a feeling that, as the compilation goes on, I'll look back on this and love it a lot more. 7/10

Belarus; 3+2 - Butterflies

Oh, I'm not sure. Is it bland, or is it beautiful? It was going quite well until someone who sounds like Artie from Glee came in. Could be a grower. 6.5/10

Belgium; Tom Dice - Me And My Guitar

This guy sounds like he should be in a typically MOR group that national radio loves. Inoffensive, but not exciting. 6/10

Bosnia-Herezegovina; Vukasin Brajic - Thunder And Lightning

Bosnian rock? No thanks. 2.5/10

Bulgaria; Miro - Angel Si Ti

I like the production on this a lot, but I don't like the vocal. Should have got a female to sing it etc. 6/10

Croatia; Feminnem - Lako Je Sve

Are these the girls who insist on wearing peach, despite it being a bad look for them? This would probably be my favourite so far, if it were in English, but it's pretty good anyway. Their voices could be better though. 7.5/10

Cyprus; Jon Lilygreen & The Islanders - Life Looks Better In Spring

Has Ronan gone in disguise for Cyprus this year? Eh. Not great. Don't mind it, but don't care if I don't hear it again. 4/10

Denmark; Chanee & N'evergreen - In A Moment Like This

Was expecting to like this a lot more, for some reason. Disappointing. It sounds a bit dated, but I like their voices together, kinda. Oh dear, key change, minus 0.5. 5.5/10

Estonia; Malcolm Lincoln - Siren

Well this doesn't sound like a Eurovision entry at all. Could pass as something from a failed Sound Of 2010 artist. Not bad. 6.5/10

Finland; Kuunkuiskaajat - Tyolki Ellaa

Oh ffs. For the first 30 seconds I was like "OMG THIS WILL BE AMAZING" and then it went into typical cheesy folk music that makes Eurovision crap. 4.5/10

France; Jessy Matador - Allez Olla Olé

This sounds a bit like it could be a Kat DeLuna song translated into French. It's a nice, upbeat, song if nothing else. 6.5/10

FYR Macedonia; Gjoko Taneski - Jas Ja Imam Silata

*face falls* Only better than Bosnia because it has a bit of a rap to shake things up. 3/10

Georgia; Sofia Nizharadze - Shine

I'm such a sucker for the slightly bland ones, it beats offensively cheesy. This isn't bad, could be a grower as well. 7.5/10

Germany; Lena - Satellite

Rich showed me before, really like this a lot. The vocals are infectious. <3 Sounds a bit like a cross between a Kate Nash and VV Brown song. 8.5/10

Greece; Giorgos Alkaios & Friends - Opa

This is exactly what I thought it was when I saw the title. Bring back Kalomoira. 3/10

Iceland; Hera Bjork - Je Ne Said Quoi

Already heard this one as well. *SYNTH SYNTH SYNTH* It basically is a bit like "When Love Takes Over", but not as good, isn't it? 7.5/10

Ireland; Niamh Kavanagh - It's For You

BITCHES. They've clearly been taking notes from us last year. It's probably not as good as "It's My Time", but it's by far the best Irish entry in the three years I've been listening. (not exactly hard tbf, though last year was good) 8.5/10

Israel; Harel Skaat - Milim

Make sure you've got some coffee at the ready if you want to get through this one. 4/10

Latvia; Aisha - What For?

Mmm. I don't like accordians usually, but I quite enjoy it on this. I feel like I should be bobbing my head and clapping out of sync. 8/10

Lithuania; InCulto - Eastern European Funk

The idea of funk in Eurovision got me all excited. But, um, no. Go away. 2.5/10

Malta; Thea Garrett - My Dream

This is what an X Factor winning song would sound like, if it wasn't a cover. Seems like another country likes what Jade did. This is alright. 7/10

Moldova; SunStroke Project & Olia Tira - Run Away

When this first started I was hoping it'd be this year's Aysel & Arash. It certainly isn't. :( Not bad, not particularly great. 6/10

Norway; Didrik Solli-Tangen - My Heart Is Yours

At first I wanted to sing "we are sailing" and then it turns into "You Raise Me Up". Ugh. Clash of the awful. 3.5/10

Poland; Marcin Mrozinski - Legenda

Well it's fair to say that it doesn't live up to what the title suggests. Far from legendary. Pedestrian blandness. 4/10

Portugal; Filipa Azevedo - Há Dias Assim

Inoffensive female = I don't mind it. At times she sounds a bit like a Portuguese Leona Lewis, at times she sounds nothing like her. 6.5/10

Romania; Paula Seling & Ovi - Playing With Fire

I feel like I should properly love this. I think it's good, but it should be better? Saying that, it's very much enjoyable. 7.5/10

Russia; Peter Nalitch & Friends - Lost And Forgotten

Geesh. Well, they said it, this will be lost and forgotten indeed. 2.5/10

Serbia; Milan Stankovic - Ovo Je Balkan

I can always rely on Serbia to produce an entry I won't like. I don't even know why I both listening to them, 3/10

Slovakia; Kristina - Horehronie

Slovakia in 'not awful' song shocker! This sounds like something that could be enjoyed on a windy summer's day by the sea? 6.5/10

Slovenia; Ansambel Zlindra & Kalamari - Narodnozabavni Rock

Ah well, looks like it's Slovenia's time to let the side (of Slovenia/vakia) down this year. Not as awful as some of the other rock entries, but still bad. 3/10

Spain; Daniel Diges - Algo Pequenito

Apparently this means 'something tiny'? Way to open yourself to jokes. What's up Spain?! This sounds like something you'd expect from one of the crazy countries. 3/10

Sweden; Anna Bergendahl - This Is My Life

I'd also heard this one. I'm sure you've seen a pattern emerging. I like the inoffensive females, so this is one of my favourites as well. I prefer it to "Kom". :x 8/10

Switzerland; Michael Von Der Heide - Il Pleut De L'or

Bland males, however, are an instant 'next plz'. 4.5/10

The Netherlands; Sieneke - Ik Ben Verliefd (Sha-la-lie)

How circus-y. I want to hate this but it's quite charming. 6/10

Turkey; maNga - We Could Be The Same

Oh, what a complete and utter let down. I thought the artist and title looked promising. 3.5/10

Ukraine; Aloysha - Sweet People

Haha, Ukraine trying to be all srs this year? I quite like the sound and production but, going on about 'the message is true', I dunno. I suppose it's fairly decent. 6.5/10

United Kingdom; Josh Dubovie - That Sounds Good To Me

LOL bless us. It definitely sounds like a bit of lost, dated, 80s cheese. I want to like it, but it's just a bit of a poor showing. 5.5/10

I haven't ordered them yet, but I'm thinking Germany, Ireland and Sweden could be my favourites? Lots of dirge and lots of inoffensiveness.
