Thanks for the pictures. Do you know I watched fly with me and I have to admit I missed the power of his voice singing on popstar to operastar and him interpreting a part rather than just standing there.
It was hardly a performance. You couldn't hear him through the talking and couldn't see him much at all.
It was hardly a performance I agree but I do love the base voice. To follow up that there are a couple of complimentary pieces from an unlikely source!! not realising he had suh a great bass voice and now a fan. I think he needs to keep the bass going for the future somehow.

How difficult is it to swop between top, middle and bottom? I'd hate it if classical style robs us of the versatility we've always enjoyed from Darius.

Mind you that was a seriously wonderful bass note he finished with on Friday.

His voice was lovely. It's a lot harder to get tickets for the opera than anything else. If he did go that way, it'd be harder to see him performing.
That other report said classical rather than opera, perhaps he will have a go at both.

Op-eh-ra? - leave it to Rolando etc. who have given their lives to it.

Darius can make classical albums if he likes and I'd probably buy them because I love his voice though tbh, the studio album which will mean most to me is the next one of his own songs. I know he puts a bit of himself into anything he sings. however that's never the same as hearing a songwriter sing his own songs.

If he wants sing and act on stage, Darius can stick to sung through musicals and how about some Gilbert and Sullivan? I bet he'd love some of those roles.

We can always hope he ends up doing phantom as well.

I read that as 'We can always hope he ends up doing PANTO as well!!' Now that's a novel idea. He'd make a great Prince Charming. ;) Sue

Lots of fantastic actors and singers do pantomime and I could see Darius doing it just to tick a box on his checklist of experiences. However, he'd need to be undoubtedly at the top of his career at the time or it would be heralded as a sign of the depths he'd sunk to.
The media would have a field day. They don't seem to understand that panto is just another form of musical theatre
