February 10, 201015 yr Brief comments on the Top 10 & highlights on what I like below: 1 - A Town Called Malice / Precious JAM - A great Motown pastiche with modern Ray Davies social commentary lyrics; Precious was nowhere near as good. 2 3 Golden Brown STRANGLERS - An olde to an illegal substance. Great track though. 3 2 Oh Julie SHAKIN' STEVENS - One of his few tracks I can tolerate. Perhaps because it was an original song. 4 1 The Model / Computer Love KRAFTWERK - Absolute class originally recorded in 1978. 5 5 Dead Ringer For Love MEAT LOAF - An awful wracked. I never liked Meat Loaf. 6 6 Maid Of Orleans ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK - Cue famous pub gag when this comes on the jukebox "Is this Joan Of Arc? Nah, it's Maid Of Orleans" Well I find it funny. 7 7 Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do) CHRISTOPHER CROSS - Dreadful AC rubbish. Bland, bland, bland. 8 29 The Lion Sleeps Tonight TIGHT FIT - An appalling cover and record; featuring a male model who did not sing on the record & the brunette became a future Mrs Pete Waterman. 9 4 The Land Of Make Believe BUCKS FIZZ - A rather good pop Abba pastiche track. Ahem, I actually bought this when I was 10 and helped it get to #1. 10 9 Drowning In Berlin MOBILES - A brilliant goth new romantic track. 11 27 I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES 12 36 Love Plus One HAIRCUT 100 15 13 Waiting For A Girl Like You FOREIGNER 16 10 Being Boiled HUMAN LEAGUE 17 15 Senses Working Overtime XTC - A very English yet genius pop song written by a slightly eccentric yet humourous former pop star whom I last saw in Swindon's WHSmith about four Saturday's ago flicking through the monthly music magazines! 18 20 Say Hello Wave Goodbye SOFT CELL 19 11 I'll Find My Way Home JON AND VANGELIS 26 - Centrefold J. GEILS BAND 27 17 I Could Be Happy ALTERED IMAGES 28 22 Don't You Want Me HUMAN LEAGUE 29 41 Fool If You Think It's Over ELKIE BROOKS 31 26 Here Is The News / Ticket To The Moon ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA 32 44 Landslide OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN 34 24 Yellow Pearl PHIL LYNOTT 35 37 Trouble LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM 38 31 European Son JAPAN 39 64 Mickey TONI BASIL 40 - See You DEPECHE MODE

February 12, 201015 yr I like these... 1 - A Town Called Malice / Precious JAM 2 3 Golden Brown STRANGLERS - despite it's subject matter this was very much "our song" between me and me ex. 3 2 Oh Julie SHAKIN' STEVENS - I loved this to death when it came out. I was 5. 4 1 The Model / Computer Love KRAFTWERK - one of the best number ones ever. 5 5 Dead Ringer For Love MEAT LOAF - his best song. 6 6 Maid Of Orleans ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK 8 29 The Lion Sleeps Tonight TIGHT FIT - ultra-cheesy but I've always loved it...guilty childhood pleasure. 9 4 The Land Of Make Believe BUCKS FIZZ - ultra-cheesy but I've always loved it...guilty childhood pleasure. It's actually a perfect pop song. I don't known #7 or #10 but this is close to being a complete top 10 that I like. 11 27 I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES 12 36 Love Plus One HAIRCUT 100 14 8 Get Down On It KOOL AND THE GANG 16 10 Being Boiled HUMAN LEAGUE 17 15 Senses Working Overtime XTC 18 20 Say Hello Wave Goodbye SOFT CELL 24 16 Mirror Mirror (Mon Amour) DOLLAR 25 19 I Wanna Be A Winner BROWN SAUCE - wasn't think Swap Shop or Tiswas or something? 26 - Centrefold J.
