Posted February 12, 201015 yr http://i49.tinypic.com/adok6s.jpg PINK will be revving up the V8 Supercars championship as its ambassador for the next three years. In the biggest sports branding coup since Tina Turner belted out The Best for rugby league 20 years ago, V8 Supercars Australia have signed Pink to a multi-million dollar campaign themed by her hit Get The Party Started. The American pop superstar filmed the Transformers-style television ads at the end of her record-breaking Funhouse tour last August. Pink insisted on working with award-winning music video director Dave Meyers, who has shot most of her clips including the hilarious mini-movie for So What. The Greatest Show On Wheels campaign was unveiled at a star-studded launch at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter last night. “We filmed it there at the end of the last tour - thanks again for that, by the way,” Pink said. “It’s been a really fun ride and I’m excited for this new race season.” Pink and her motocross champion Carey Hart test drove the cars during their extended visit of Australia last year. “We got to test drive the cars … I didn’t have to drive with Carey Hart so I am alive.” While in Australia last June, Hart signalled that he would be keen to make the transition to racing V8 Supercars here. The Greatest Show On Wheels campaign was brokered by V8 Supercars boss Tony Cochrane with Roger Davies, the Australian music industry manager who looks after both Pink and Tina Turner. “So why Pink? She’s the greatest female artist on the planet in my books. She’s not afraid to be different. She’s bold, she’s outspoken and she’s unapologetic. She’s the most popular modern day artist in this country by a country mile. She’s cool!” Cochrane said. “For all of those reasons V8 Supercars and Pink are the perfect DNA match.” Pink’s superstar presence also casts the sport’s big names in a sexier new light, with her commercial co-stars Jamie Whincup, Will Davison, Rick Kelly, Mark Winterbottom, Fabian Coulthard and James Courtney perfecting their best blue-steel looks.
