IIRC GB got 1 medal last time :P. Surely there are at least 3 on the cards this time :kink:?

I'm so annoyed this is 3AM in Norway -_-

Well.. at least Norway have the chance to get some gold medals :kink:

Starts in 40 minutes!

Not that Britain's likely to do all that well but I still love it!

:o It's all going pretty badly for the hosts so far, the glitch with the cauldron, the tragic death, the questionable safety of the luge track and the 'warm' temperatures. Looks like it's gonna be a tough one for the officials.
Yeah, it wasn't the best set of circumstances. They're still determined to win gold in their own country though, how do people reckon it'll go?

Canada has hosted the Olympics (1976 and 1988) twice prior and failed to win a gold medal, but that looks inevitable this time around considering there performance in Torino (3rd in overall medals)

These series of unfortunate events are terrible, the death of the luge athele, lighting of the cauldron (although it seems rather minor now), and the warmest winter on record for Vancouver, but I'm sure after a few days we'll be caught up in the sporting events

That's true, I think they should come through. And they really are determined to do it after being the only ones not to twice!

But they clearly haven't benefited from the home advantage so far.

After 34 years, the drought is finally over for Canada!

Alexandre Bilodeau won gold in the Men's Moguls Sunday evening, giving Canada its first gold medal on home soil after failing to do so in its previous two hosted-olympics. Bilodeau ironically beat Dale Begg-Smith, Vancouver-born, but now competes for Australia.

Congratulations to him!! I can't stand that Begg-Smith guy.

Overall I think Vancouver is doing well. Every Olympics has its problems.

Silver for Norway in Alpine Skiing and skating and bronze in woman's cross country 10km! :D

Norway have 98 golden medals, I hope we can get our 100th golden medal this year

Anyone else going to give the Brits a miss tonight by watching this far more exciting event in the calendar?

The Portuguese skiier was last. :kink:

But so far, I've been enjoying the Olympics. Nice to see some athletes I like winning gold like Didier Defago, Charlotte Kalla, Seth Wescott, Simon Amann and the Chinese figure skaters Shen/Zhao.

The snowboarding last night was brilliant ... probably even more exciting than the ski-ing. Slalom today!

My God! Did anyone catch that Chinese couple figure skating to Man of La Mancha tonight in the Olympics! Bloody and Sand ... I haven't seen anything like it! Pure Brilliance!

I can breathe a sigh of relief after Canada defeated Norway 8-0 in men's hockey....I was so worried Canada would have another disastrous start and quick exit like the 2006 Olympics, where they finished 7th place! How embarrasing! :drama:

Norway played a great game and had a very competitive 1st period against Canada, their goalie really made some incredible saves throughout!
