October 14, 201113 yr NBC is one of the five main [four 'big'] channels, and at the minute I think it ranks 4th out of those main channels in terms of ratings. The good news for P&R is that it's average is right in line with NBCs scripted average and at the end of this season it should be just one season away from 88 episodes, which is where shows tend to need to be in order to be 'syndicated', so they won't want to cancel it this year.
October 14, 201113 yr 'Parks and Rec' is certain to be renewed - it rates well (in terms of NBC) in a competitive slot. 2.1, 2.1, 2.0, 2.1 may look shabby but comparing it to 'The Playboy Club' 1.7, 1.3, 1.2 or 'Free Agents' 2.1, 1.4, 1.0, 1.0 means it's very unlikely to be cancelled :P by the end of this season it'll be at 68 episodes - so we should get at least one more 20 episode season. Fans of 'Community' on the other hand might have a reason to start getting worried - if this season's order is only 13 (it might be 22) then I can't see the show surviving to S4. October 18, 201113 yr Just gave the first 2 episodes of Community a go because so many people here seem to like that too but I just couldn't get into it :( Senor Chang is all sorts of amazing though.

Community changes the type of show it is on an almost weekly basis. It's really quite bizarre. I really like it though.

Sometimes they get it horribly wrong though, like the Christmas episode last year. I'd probably rate my favourite comedies at the minute like this: Parks and Recreation 30 Rock (come back please) Raising Hope Community New Girl The Office (really declined over the years, finding it hard to stick with this season) I'm not really keen on the shitty CBS laugh-when-you're-told comedies.

October 23, 201113 yr It means there will certainly be another series of 'Parks and Rec'; joint second highest scripted rated show on NBC for the week in a very competitive time slot. Even though the figures are poor - NBC has literally nothing atm. S1 - 5.35 2.4 S2 - 4.68 2.1 S3 - 4.75 2.4 S4 - 4.15 2.1 Series averages for 'Parks', very consistent it obviously has a small but loyal fanbase. Edited October 23, 201113 yr by xxxxxx

October 29, 201113 yr This has become my faveourite show on TV, can't beleive it doesn't get shown over here, Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson are brilliant TV characters, such good actors!
