Rod Stewart Higher and Higher on March 15th... if that is a physical release it will be his first such single since 2001 and his first on J records. In fact, he has not even released singles for download, not to mind physical in nine years..seems strange that he would now.

That's true. It does beg the question though - why not put out Same Old Song when he was doing that all over the TV pre Christmas? Better song, more PR and tied in with the album release.

The timing of this one is strange - album has sold pretty much what it can, his tour was already announced. I hope it's not just a cynical move thinking that younger music buyers have heard of him through the Haiti single so they might check out his new single.

I dont post on here often but just to clear things up .com admin told me today that HMV had the wrong information and that nothing had being confirmed as yet as to what the new single is to be.

 

Im presuming the are contacting HMV to rectify the problem.

The wikipedia page for 'Rude Boy' says there is a CD single release for the UK on the 22nd, but it is disputed, so it seems nobody knows!
