'born of frustration' is the outstanding class track there imho... the rest is pretty lame, the i like the wonderstuff, pearl jam and one or two others.
I'm Doin Fine Now by The Pasadenas - I like this version - much better than the original

Ahhh! 92! Here goes...

1. Wet Wet Wet - Goodnight Girl Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! Cannot abide this inspid Scottish quartet!

2. Shakespear's Sister - Stay First ever single I bought as a little nipper, would be number one the next week...

3. 2 Unlimited - Twilight Zone Liked them at the time, almost unlistenable now though

4. Pasadenas - I'm Doing Fine Now No thanks

5. Curtis Stigers - I Wonder Why Oooooh gotta love that sax! Seriously though, vile!

6. Michael Jackson - Remember The Time Didn't like Jacko by this point, but this isn't too bad.

7. Kylie Minogue - Give Me Just A Little More Time Love Kylie, but not this uttetly pointless cover version.

8. Kicks Like A Mule - The Bouncer Yer names not darrn, yer not carmin' in... OK enough track.

9. Ride - Leave Them All Behind Don't know this.

10. Jesus & Mary Chain - Reverence Nor this

And of the remaining, I like...

11. Primal Scream - Dixie-Narco EP "Movin On Up" is the lead track, bloody great track from great album!

18. James - Born Of Frustration Don't like James at all, but don't mind this

23. Prodigy - Everybody In The Place EP Not their best, but still good enough

30. Sounds Of Blackness - Optimistic Massively over-rated piece of gospel soul. Sublime!

31. Ce Ce Peniston - We Got A Love Thang It's no Finally, but still a top track!

36. Son'z Of A Loop Da Loop Era - Far Out RAVE was 92s saving grace, just brilliant!

40. Dream Freqency - Feel So Real By far and away my fave track on this chart, one of my fave ravey old-skool tracks of all time! You make me feeeel sooooo reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-aaaaaaaaaaaalll!

1. Wet Wet Wet - Goodnight Girl....not their biggest fans, and being Scottish doesn't help them

2. Shakespear's Sister - Stay....was number 1 for far too long

5. Curtis Stigers - I Wonder Why :puke2:

16. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody/These Are The Days Of Our Lives...think this charted just after Freddie Mercury had died

18. James - Born Of Frustration....best song in the chart

22. Julia Fordham - Love Moves (In Mysterious Ways) :)

33. Manic Street Preachers - You Love Us :)

38. Madness - It Must Be Love...not sure why this was back in the charts in 1992  still good though

My thoughts on the top 10 and what I like from #11 - #40:

1. Wet Wet Wet - Goodnight Girl - Without doubt their best song. After two consecutive flops from their 4th album the dumper was beckoning, but then they unleased this beautiful sad song about an estranged father mising his daughter from his former relationship. It subsequently went on to win an Ivor Novello award for its music and lyrics.

2. Shakespear's Sister - Stay - A brilliant torch pop song. But why have I got the French & Saunders parody stuck in my head.

3. 2 Unlimited - Twilight Zone - An appalling dance track by one of the worst acts in musical history.

4. Pasadenas - I'm Doing Fine Now - A bland insepid cover by that years answer to JLS of a 1970s Philly soul track.

5. Curtis Stigers - I Wonder Why - A two hit wonder. I wonder why this American cross between Michael Bolton & Kenny G wasa success back then. Dull.

6. Michael Jackson - Remember The Time - Taken from MJ's worst Epic album Dangerous, this is nowhere near as good a rewrite of The Way You Make Me Feel.

7. Kylie Minogue - Give Me Just A Little More Time - OK. But an unneccessary PWL photocopy of the Chairman Of The Board original.

8. Kicks Like A Mule - The Bouncer - An unremarkable rave anthem.

9. Ride - Leave Them All Behind - These indie shoegazers did much better material.

10. Jesus & Mary Chain - Reverence - The Scottish duo released far better material before and after that did not do as well.

11. Primal Scream - Dixie-Narco EP

12. Simply Red - For Your Babies

13. Temptations - My Girl

15. Genesis - I Can't Dance

16. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody/These Are The Days Of Our Lives

17. Pearl Jam - Alive

18. James - Born Of Frustration

22. Julia Fordham - Love Moves (In Mysterious Ways)

23. Prodigy - Everybody In The Place EP

30. Sounds Of Blackness - Optimistic

33. Manic Street Preachers - You Love Us

37. Wonder Stuff - Welcome To The Cheap Seats EP

38. Madness - It Must Be Love

39. Buffy Sainte-Marie - The Big Ones Get Away

Not a great chart at all!

38. Madness - It Must Be Love

Hmmm. Agreed, not a good chart, can barely remember most of these

1. Wet Wet Wet - Goodnight Girl I hated everything they came out with - never has a band name been more apt

2. Shakespear's Sister - Stay Great song

3. 2 Unlimited - Twilight Zone Guilty pleasure!!!!

4. Pasadenas - I'm Doing Fine Now The JLS of their time, just wish JLS would f*** off like this lot did

5. Curtis Stigers - I Wonder Why This ever get recorded let alone in the top 10

6. Michael Jackson - Remember The Time Ugh!

7. Kylie Minogue - Give Me Just A Little More Time Ok for PWL era Kylie

8. Kicks Like A Mule - The Bouncer No thanks

9. Ride - Leave Them All Behind Brilliant and criminally Ride's only top 10 track

10. Jesus & Mary Chain - Reverence Another top notch track from the Brothers Reid

I like these as well:

11. Primal Scream - Dixie-Narco EP Lead track was Moving On Up

16. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody/These Are The Days Of Our Lives

17. Pearl Jam - Alive

18. James - Born Of Frustration

23. Prodigy - Everybody In The Place EP

33. Manic Street Preachers - You Love Us

35. Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart - Visions Of You Featured Sinead O'Connor - excellent single

37. Wonder Stuff - Welcome To The Cheap Seats EP

38. Madness - It Must Be Love

Definitely my era - and I remember this chart so, so well for the top 10 new entries for both JAMC and Ride in quick succession. Back in the days when decent songs actually could hit the top 10. Here's what I like, with some comments.

8. Kicks Like A Mule - The Bouncer

This was such a heavy rave track. The "name's not dahn yer not comin' in" samples were pretty pointless garnish, but the beats and the gigantic sub bassline were amongt he heaviest we'd heard. Still have this on 12".

9. Ride - Leave Them All Behind

Where the culmination of Ride's namedropping by everyone (hello Rob Newman etc) finally resulted in a big hit for them. The first single off their second album and it still sounds an immense breezeblock of shimmering noise pop today.

10. Jesus & Mary Chain - Reverence

I actually didn't like this when it came out but my tastes were still forming. This was one of the heaviest records to ever hit the top 10 I reckon...what's been heavier?

11. Primal Scream - Dixie-Narco EP

'Movin' on Up' is fine but it's the brilliant 'Screamadelica' which ironically didn't appear on the album of the same name that you'll want to check out first.

18. James - Born Of Frustration

Where James turned into Simple Minds if you ask me! I much preferred 'Sound' which they relesed off 'Seven' before this one. Good indie pop tune though.

19. Cicero - Love Is Everywhere

I loved this. Cicero was going to be the Pet Shop Boys Scottish protege and this record with synth bagpipes and the worst lyrics ever (check them out!) was nothing but simple pop fun. I bought it off iTunes recently - still love it.

20. Wedding Present - Go Go Dancer

One of their 12 singles for the year, can't actually recall it...they all kinda merged into one for me.

23. Prodigy - Everybody In The Place EP

The sound of a rave in a fairground, still love it. Much better than Charly and a contender for their best record ever.

24. Orbital - Mutations EP

A great idea to revisit some of the Hartnoll Brothers earlier dance hits and give them a rave makeover. Ray Keith's mix of 'Chime' is brilliant.

33. Manic Street Preachers - You Love Us

A re-release of one of their earliest singles (from late 1990) found the boys at their peak...yes, their peak!

34. Definition Of Sound - Moira Jane's Cafe

This was fun but nowhere near as good as 'Wear Your Love Like Heaven'. I remember my mate really loved it though.

35. Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart - Visions Of You

Superb song from the ex-PiL bassist with Sinead O'Connor on haunting backing vocals. A brilliant bassline, Wobble's ethereal vocals and Sinead's caterwaul - listened to it on my iPod the other day and I was transfixed.

36. Son'z Of A Loop Da Loop Era - Far Out

A real rave classic from Danny Breaks. The label Suburban Base would go on to have one more Top 40 hit in the summer.....anyone remember Sesame's Treet?

37. Wonder Stuff - Welcome To The Cheap Seats EP

A real, real quality EP where the title track actually paled in comparison to the other three tracks. The best of all is the band's classic collaboration with Spirit of the West on their cover of 'Will the Circle Be Unbroken'.

38. Madness - It Must Be Love

Can anyone remember why this was re-released? Glad they did though, it brought about a Madness revival which culminated in their Madstock gig in Finsbury Park.

40. Dream Freqency - Feel So Real By far and away my fave track on this chart, one of my fave ravey old-skool tracks of all time! You make me feeeel sooooo reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-aaaaaaaaaaaalll!

Sorry, you're right. I read this as being Love Decade for some reason - and they were awful! Yeah, Dream Frequency 'Feel So Real' was immense and there was a Prodigy mix on the flip too.

10. Jesus & Mary Chain - Reverence

I actually didn't like this when it came out but my tastes were still forming. This was one of the heaviest records to ever hit the top 10 I reckon...what's been heavier?

Ummm... Metallica (off the top of my head)
