February 16, 201015 yr I think she sacrificed live singing for a performance instead. Britney does it all the time in her tours. I'm no great fan of Cheryl Cole but she CAN sing! She proved it on the Children In Need gig. For me ... it was as disappointing as when Take That chose a 'spectacular' entrance over live singing last year. Norma Then she makes bad artistic decisions.
February 16, 201015 yr Then she makes bad artistic decisions. Well we've all done it haven't we? Just ask Gordon Brown! Norma
February 16, 201015 yr I don't see what the big deal is about miming? -_- I'd rather watch a dance routine performance like Cheryl's than listen to her sing live, guess that's just me though...
February 16, 201015 yr Robbie's performance was fan-f***ing-tastic in so many ways - I was shocked he got so many tracks in and then EC and Rock DJ/Rudebox on ITV2 - talk about proving himself as a performer - brilliant stuff :D Apparently he didnt want anyone to present it to him which is a shame as I would've liked Kylie to present it to him. No video either - although I can't recall if there usually is? Overall it was good but not great as a show. I enjoyed Lady Gaga actually - it was nice to see her voice more clearly - a very good performance. I am glad Oasis won best album, but why did Liam bother showing up? Noel should've accepted it instead since he wrote the album soley and would've had more respect. And what was with Liam's outburst on ITV2  I like Peter Kay but most of his jokes fell flat on their arse which resulted in him being a dissapointing host imo :(
February 16, 201015 yr Then she makes bad artistic decisions. Indeed after tonight's debacle of a performance by her, here's the reason I've laid off criticising her singing abilities as I think this is brilliant. lVjQYbX-F7k

I did catch GaGa's performance and I thought her vocal was absolutely fabulous ... as well as being a dance queen she has a fantastic voice ... plus ... you just cannot take your eyes off her. I love Peter Kay but he was a crap host tonight ... he played it like he was a compere in a Working Man's Club. Bring back Russell Brand ... the best host bar none that the Brits has ever had. Norma
February 16, 201015 yr Gagaolala was the highlight for me, but I already knew that before the Show had begun! What must they think over the pond watching our version of the Grammys :drama: :kink:.

Norma There are strong rumours that he may return for 2011 (just a matter of whether it is with Katy Perry or Jonathan Ross helping out).
February 16, 201015 yr Overall, It was quite good, if not groundbreaking No surprises at all with the winners though- everyone who was bookies favourite to win won, Gaga deserved the three awards, but her performance was weird, I think the best performance was Jay-Z or Florence and Dizzee (worked really well!) Glad Florence won best album- and should have won breakthrough too- JLS have done well, but they were very lucky to be up in two categories where the public vote- I dont think they won on merit, they won because of their good looks and large fanbase and I think the BRITs is meant to be about rewarding music I actually really liked Peter Kay as a host- although not as good as Russell Brand Edited February 16, 201015 yr by chart wizard
February 16, 201015 yr There are strong rumours that he may return for 2011 (just a matter of whether it is with Katy Perry or Jonathan Ross helping out). I just hope ... and I know I sound a bore bringing Take That up all the time ... that Take That realise that they are 'persona non-grata' at the Brits ... and even if nominated ... they never, ever attend again. After all the bloody fuss the Brits made about 'dropping certain categories' to make way for 'special' ones ... the 30 year performance was over in the blink of an eye! The ONLY reason they dropped the live act category is they knew Take That would win (deservedly) and they do not like Take That. For God's sake Take That ... show some dignity next time and DO NOT show up ... whatever! Norma
February 16, 201015 yr Im so happy fo jls they deserved all 3 but i guess 2 wasnt to bad Edited February 16, 201015 yr by Kathyswtheart.X
February 16, 201015 yr Can someone explain how Cheryl Cole is anything other than shocking? She mimed and didn't do it well. I'm in the minority who doesn't rate Cheryl Cole as a singer. She has a very plain and ordinary voice not too dissimilar to that of Victoria Beckham in fact - just with a Newcastle twang. The best bit about her "performance" who the first 10 seconds when she jumped onto the platform although Lady GaGa did the same thing at the Grammies last week. After that it went rapidly downhill as I don't even think 'Fight For This Love' is that great a song. Well, until some unknown session singer stole the show with two lines that grabbed my attention. Then it went into a lukewarm mash up of 'Show Me Love' with Cheryl Cole singing 'FFTL' over the top. It didn't work for me and was a musical fail. :( Even when it went back into the proper version of 'FFTL' the mix sounded really odd. Erm, the backing dancers were great though. ^_^ Edited February 16, 201015 yr by Hitstastic
February 16, 201015 yr JLS winning Best Single shows why the public SHOULD NOT be allowed to vote. They are a disgrace to the UK music industry and make me ashamed to be British. well Im ashamed that you think jls are that rubbish you dont see me complaning. <_<
February 16, 201015 yr I'm sorry but I can't agree with all this 'the public should not be allowed to vote' sh/te! Would you all rather be directed to what 'is the best' by a panel of experts. For Christ's Sake ... its like saying you'll only go and watch films that Mark Kermode thinks are 'great' ... without realising that a lot of what he says is great ... the general public thinks is sh/te! Frigging hell ... do you all want to be told what to think? I bet half of you ... if shown re-runs of The Old Grey Whistle Test would say ... 'what the f*** is that $h!te about?' I'm no (great) fan ... but JLS deserved their awards tonight! Get over it! Norma
February 16, 201015 yr It goes without saying that voting by the public should not be allowed. So you're one of those who'd like your mind made up for you are you? By a 'panel of experts' of course. Are you an automaton? Public votes are the only votes that are worth anything as far as I'm concerned. And what if that 'panel of experts' doesn't agree with your choice ... what do you suggest then?
