I think Darius wanted to win this more than any of the others and perhaps the panel didn't like this. Whatever, he was certainly disadvantaged throughout, with comments/song choice etc! Up until the final itself IMO.

Definitely. I just kept thinking of what they did to him in 'Popstars'. They wanted to do the same to him in this. He was just too good and too many people voted for his talent than didn't vote because of the bad choices of song and the dreadful vts.

Bernie and Marcella also openly said that they were competitive and thought/hoped they had a chance of winning.

They however never questioned what they were asked to do or we didn't get to see any of their concerns, whereas Darius's misgivings were highlighted blow by blow every week in the VTs.

I've been told that Saturday's Lincoln event wasn't confirmed until Friday. Please understand that even though a news article or tweet may mention Darius as being at an event it doesn't mean it's been officially confirmed and it would be wrong of him or his management to say he'll be somewhere and then it doesn't happen as you could have a situation where fans book tickets, travel etc for something he isn't doing. Unfortunately the news about Lincoln wasn't added to his sites when it was eventually confirmed on Friday and I've made them aware that some fans are unhappy about this oversight. Hopefully you'll hear about any events in advance from now on once they are confirmed, but please keep in mind that these type of events are quite often only confirmed a day or two in advance.

So did Darius, but the sounds he produced although absolutely spot on were not the notes people expected until he got to the final 4 and did an aria written for his range.

Baritone is D's proper range but he has very little experience using it. If he's going to continue with it, he'll need more time to rehearse new songs in that range than he would have for the style of songs he's recorded/sung up until now. He may still need some vocal coaching to produce his best.

Thanks, Delphi, for clearing that up.

I'll expect some update on the website very soon then.

His mangement should realise that Darius's fans are not limited to a tight geographical area of the UK. So wherever events are, there's a chance that some fans can be there - for example B.P. has posted that he could have made Lincoln at very short notice. it upsets fans if they've waited for years to see him and then find out later that they'd missed him because they weren't told at all. Darius, that is. not B.P.

For any fans that were disappointed at not meeting me, I am available for bookings and functions, and have been known to attend the opening of a crisp packet, so pm me for my rates :D

Thanks Rachel :) It's good to know we should hear about gigs in the future.

Maybe there could be some way of listing possible gigs/appearances so people in and around those areas are aware, just in case D does attend. We could start a new thread once something is officially confirmed.

Prettyinpink and spamfritter have started a pinned thread here but what of others who're keen to know what Darius is doing? They wouldn't look for the information tucked away on a small D forum on a general music and leisure forum, would they?

That's a date, then. I'll have to take a rain check for the moment though.

We can always put the dates through facebook, myspace and twitter. We can ask for it to be re - tweeted. We can start a discussion thread on Darius' facebook but I really don't feel we will need to once Darius' team get up and running. I don't think they, or he, actually thought he'd win at all.

It wont hurt to consider the best way though. If we make sure we write blogs, they may be picked up in google searches. I'm quite looking forward to watching what happens as Darius comes out of limbo and into the light.

Just added. Pam and I were lucky enough to meet Paul in London. He didn't sign any autographs though. I didn't see any crisp packets either.

  Please, please no autographs B)

Berni Nolan was on This Morning reviewing the papers. She is touring in some production, can't remember what, but it's not a musical. They congratulated her on PSTOS. Also, apparently The Priests were on Loose Women promoting their tour, but there was no mention of The Prayer. Now wouldn't you have thought it would have been an ideal time to promote that as well ? Strange how there's no mention of it at all.

Thanks Rachel, that sounds much more positive, so also do your comments Meg. Sue

It's called Mum's the Word and is apparently a comedy.

I've just been looking for it in the Glasgow Theatre Guides with no luck because I'd seen it in passing.

I've now remembered where I saw it mentioned - on the Lincoln Theatre Royal site.

I think it's there some time in April.
