I think the word 'history' will be a turn-off for many people.

Why not Big Band Bonanzo or something similar?

I hope it's a success.

- I think the word history is wrong also, makes it sound stuffy = do wonder if these PR people know their job - promotion promotion with DS name included is what is needed and drop the word history.

They were part of the era

How to Burlesque Dance...a warning about what not to do:-

Try not to look sleazy or slutty, as this is not a part of burlesque dancing. It's all about being sexy and seductive with class and elegance.

video

Although this would put me right off.

No I'm really looking forward to it.

It's all part of the era :)

Same here, but I agree that it will all be down to good promotion if it's going to succeed, and we know what a let down that's been in the past. Sue

It was the burlesque that would put me off and people I know who are thinking about it.

Yes, the burlesque thing is off putting, i find the whole swing thing sleazy as it is, if iam honest

I find it ironic that in his video, he describes what he finds sexy in a woman, and states that if if she is comfortable in what she is wearing, he's happy

Not sure i'd be that comfortable in a burlesque outfit, lol

I always associate swing with gangsters, playboys etc - put that down to the rat pack - the swing set men were always mens men, real men - I took that was what Tony (cig always in hand) Bennett meant when he said Rod sounded female singing swing. that kind of act just doesnt exist these days - the banter and humour and dark side seemed to give it all much more interest. jamie cullum and Michael bubble just are hollow boy cutouts singing swing and tbh leave me cold- that is what I like about D singing swing - he actually has that twinkle in his eye - the banter and humour and that deep manly voice - all he needs is a couple of men to banter with up there.

or did she misunderstand 'met'.. intrigue - perhaps TB would like to appear in D's big band show??

and a writeup about the grand prix ball stating darius sung a song form his forthcoming album..WHAT WAS IT!!!

Whatever turns you on ;)

Personally, i fing gangsters and playboys are a real turn off

I don't like my men dangerous, unreliable and mean :drink:

One 'type' of person doesn't sing 'swing'. Don't blame the music for preconceptions. Good or bad can sing it - but they have to be confident - and good at it.

And Darius is! I think he's brilliant at portraying this type of music. I don't find swing music sleazy at all, I love this era of music.

Meg, how do you know which venues are selling well? Sue

Edited by surrogatemum

Some of the venues you can pick your seats, so if you go to 'buy tickets' and 'pick your own seat' you will see what has been sold.

Sue I'm with you, I can't wait. I love this kind of music.
