It's not one that Darius would come into my mind for - a bit too light and frothy. I hope he doesn't because I'd feel I'd have to sit through it at least once.

not sure if I would go and see it, even for Darius..not the sort of film I liked, let alone a musical. I would love to go to others though

IMHO Darius needs to be free to get about the UK entertaining and preparing for the release of his album, not to tie himself down in one West End venue or a handful of regional theatres for months on end.

In my opinion he'd be bored within a week with Duncan's part in LB. There's no challenge there.

IMHO what he should accept in the West End, is one-off concerts or concert versions of shows........... that way he could keep his show tune voice in good nick and show more people something of that riveting stage presence.

IMHO any takeover MT role can wait

If it's the old Phantom, he'd get a few column inches and then nothing for the time he's in it. It's like rubbing out the time between GWTW and now. He was good enough for that role then.

I wouldn't even like him to take over from Ramin when he goes to Broadway. There'd be a certain cachet but that's all. It would still take him out of the main public's view for months on end.

So far the gigs he has done have been for charity. There is a show on tv this weekend I think its music from the movies or something like that KJ is appearing. I think duncan james and others who have appeared in classical crossover. Also there is a Classic response concert in april with a number of the ones including Rhydian who appeared with D on Haiti cd. Yet there is no sign of D being included.
I think who was doing what was decided before pstos. I wouldn't be surprised to see him added but it may be just too late. He is very busy at the moment.

Thanks, delphi

Sounds good. What a shame I can't get there.

We will.

Darius is at this one - only as a guest though.

IM A CELEBRITY GET ME TO THE FATE AWARDS!

This year’s Fate Awards in association with Diet Coke will see the largest turnout of homegrown talent and celebrities from across the UK arrive in Belfast to showcase the very best the Northern Ireland entertainment and hospitality industry has to offer.

Now in its fourth year, this year’s Fate Awards will celebrate the dedication shown by those working in the industry in one of the toughest years and the celebrities will be out in force to recognise their achievements.

The Party of the Decade will be hosted by the King of the Jungle himself, Christopher Biggins and he will be assisted on the biggest ever Fate Awards stage by former Miss Great Britain and Fate Awards Media Personality nominee Gemma Garrett while Northern Ireland voice of the ‘X Factor’, Peter Dickson will be heard announcing the winners throughout the evening.

Roger Taylor Duran Duran

Duran Duran legend drummer Roger Taylor will make his Irish DJing debut at the aftershow party and partying the night away with him will be Eamonn Holmes and his partner Ruth Langsford, who will be joined by her ‘Loose Women’ friends Denise Welsch and Carol McGiffin.

Recent winner of ‘Popstar to Operastar’ Darius Campbell and ‘Apprentice’ runner up Kate Walsh will be there with fellow contestant Philip Taylor and our very own Ben Clarke.

Gavin and Stacey star Margaret ‘Doris’ John, Pamela Ballantine, Nicola T, Paul Rankin, Rory McIlroy and Michael Deane will celebrate the Fate Awards winners with Michelle Heaton and celebrity make up artist Gary Cockerill and DIY expert Phil Turner.

Kim Woodburn and her jungle friend Sam Fox will be partying with Gail Porter who will make her second appearance at the awards. Gerard McCarthy will line up with Pete Snodden, Julian Simmons, Zoe Salmon and Gemma to find out who’s won this year’s Media Personality Award as voted for by Sunday Life readers.

Michael Mervyn-Jones, Publisher of Fate Magazine, said; “I really can’t wait until this year’s Fate Awards. The excitement is building for the sold out event which is really shaping up to be the Party of the Decade. With the Europa Hotel completely transformed, we’ll celebrate those who have worked so hard through one of the most difficult trading years of recent times to contribute to Northern Ireland’s thriving entertainment and hospitality industry.

“With the economy showing green shoots of recovery, the Fate Awards will bring together our largest turnout of celebrities and home grown talent to reward those who have made an outstanding contribution in each of the 17 award categories.”

Last year’s winners included Belfast hot spots Muriels, No 27 Talbot Street and Apartment, alongside regional winners Sallys in Omagh and The Plough in Hillsborough.

:snif: Just realised I can't wait about outside this now as I start back to my pre-Christmas job this weekend for the next 5 months. It's just sodding typical.... I'm totally cheesed off! <_<

This event lists Darius as appearing on 30th May - Burns An' A' That Festival 2010

Thanks.

:( Guess where I'll be? Over the Atlantic on my way home from Canada. So near in time, so far away.

Burns? I wonder if he'll sing Ae Fond Kiss again. I thought it was really beautiful.

That's the sort of thing should be on the official site. All I can see is some sort of repetition of twitter. That's not good enough.

Anything Darius is doing which is public including TV and radio should be put on there as soon as it's confirmed.

What kind of official site gives you less information than fans can pick up themselves?

It's always been a major weakness with every official site Darius has ever had.

I hope it changes but then I doubt it. It's always been a struggle to find out what he's doing. It'd be good if he just put it on facebook - he can do that from his mobile easy enough.

People have to know where to go to get the information be that facebook, twitter or the official site. Everythingshould be there and with as much advance notice as possible and full information about venue, time and tickets information. That much at the very least should be on a Darius site not just on links to other sites.
