Keep On Walking was a bit of a massive missed opportunity :snif: I guess Manboy would have definitely done well too judging by the reaction Eric got just from presenting the votes :lol: Tone was unlucky really, I wish she'd sent Butterflies to MGP 2010 to beat Didrik :( Fairytale was just too 'DEFINITE WINNER' for it not have won by a landslide. First time I heard it when the MGP songs leaked I recall thinking 'this is the Eurovision winner, let alone just MGP!'
August 5, 201014 yr She should have gone to MGP 2010 with I Love You :wub: I reckon that may have crashed in the semis/second chance/first half of the final like Maria and Mira. It's a decent song but it does feel like a 'I'm trying to recrate Butterflies with this, but not quite getting there', imo of course :heehee: I maintain that acts should never go back to a competition like that unless they clearly have what would be perceived as a stronger song. By the same token, I don't think Alcazar should have come back straight away after Stay The Night as they were obviously not going to top it...Headlines was great but b-side quality compared to its predecessor... I don't think the wrong songs went to the final. Make My Day was obviously massively inferior to most of Maria's stuff, I'll Take You High was great but clearly Mira's too marmite for every competition :lol: If they were after pure fem-pop, they couldn't have gone wrong with Venke Knutson's Jealous 'Cause I Love You but the A1 song was my clear favourite and was honestly a whole lot better than Didrik and would have got them far more than 21st or wherever they flopped in at in the ESC final :lol:

It's far far far inferior to the brilliant Hold On Be Strong album. Precious To Me and the lovely Extra Mile are the best tracks (there are only 9! :drama:). And when the 'quite good' title track is the 3rd best track on the thing, you know it's lacking. Nothing comes within sniffing distance of Hold On Be Strong or Mine All Mine :( I'll PM you a link anyhow. Timoteij looked like one of the easy frontrunners for a few weeks until Anna locked herself at #1 on iTunes for weeks on end and then it became pretty obvious who was going to win... Not that pre-final chart success helped E.M.D. or Caroline to overhaul Malena the year before though I guess... Still, Stay The Night is my favourite non winning national final entry of all time, by a mile. I remember watching that performance live, that dance breakdown was EPIC :wub:
August 21, 201014 yr I'm sort of glad that it didn't go to ESC in a way. I have a horrible suspicion that it would have been the fan favourite that DNQ'd :snif: I'm struggling to think of the last time an uptempo cheesy pop/dance track did well in the contest.

The promo video is also pretty slick all things considered. It really should have won, it was the people's choice, but the jury gave it 1 point. The most sensationally obvious fix I've ever seen as it's plainly obvious Moldova don't want to be sending a potential winner these days.
