I just wish Darius would feel it, write it, and sing it in his own unique style. This is the very first song written by Darius that I didn't feel, maybe it was because I didn’t understand the lyrics I’m not sure.

It could be this is the right way for Darius to go and gain many new fans but I think he may lose some of the old fans in the process. That can’t be helped I suppose but I for one will feel I’ve lost the most individual unique artist I’ve heard in my 55 years.

I am thinking it was a difficult call for D tonight, interviewed re the show, he couldnt really do a pop songwith guitar promoting a new album..as people would be atuned and expecting something worthy of someone who just won an opera based show, and he couldnt really do opera unless he did a cover, or song from the show, I felt he walked a good line, showed he wrote his own songs, that was what he was about, and what he was getting back to,but kept it connected to the PSTOPS theme without looking as if he was showing off in Opera.

I dont expect the album to be in italian or opera based. but more a natural follow on from Live Twice, which had really grown up since dive in..

I just got home from work in time to record this :)

I think pip is right. If Darius had come on and done a pop song, people would have thought he didn't appreciate the experience nor all of Rolando and Katherine's time and guidance.

If he'd sung an operatic aria, it would've been "look he thinks he's an opera singer just because he won that show".

I think Darius will find a way of squaring the circle to deliver the best album he can for all of his fans.

OMG wasn't Darius sooooooo Bloody Fantastic again :yahoo: !.......and looking as Gorgeous as ever too mmmmmm  !

OMG i soooooooo loved that song, its sooooo Beautiful  !loved the harp playing along too!

I missed it! :( My friend sent me a text to tell me Darius was on, but I wasn't home from work in time.
 I've just got in from work.....is it repeated and where :(

it should be up on the itv player tomorrow, just click on the link that I posted earlier, I am the same, becasue STV have got their own tv shows now and I cannot remeber what channel to go on to on cable to get ITV channel.

Did Alan say b-wonderful, as if he was going to say beautiful and then changed to wonderful?

The song was beautiful and the performance was wonderful, a huge contrast to anything he did on Friday and yet clearly informed by his experience on the show.

One swallow doesn't make a summer and one classically influenced song in Italian doesn't mean Darius will never strap on his Gibson again and let his hair down.

Thanks.............................but I want to see it NOWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Loved the song, and the more I hear it the more I like it, but, yes, I wish it could have been in English. It's difficult to relate to something you don't understand, and yes, in a funny way, I also missed the opera voice. Definate shades of RGWT, which is understandable. He did say he had been approached to do something, wonder what that was? Sue

I definitely missed the opera voice and the performing.

I think we have to accept that PSTOS was a unique experience and be grateful that there are so many clips available. It would be unfair to expect Darius to recreate it. I'm pretty certain he won't opt for opera as such.

I do know what you mean though. That deep controlled bass baritone can be just as thrilling as the falsetto on Mercury Rising and personally I'd be quite disappointed if I went to a concert and I didn't hear him singing something live in his lower range.

I think he successfully walked a fine line on AT - his own song with respect to PSTOS and sung without the comedy or drama of the PSTOS songs/arias but with similar emotion, sung with one instrument rather than an orchestra.

To be quite honest I will find it hard to come to terms with him just sitting still to sing especially if it was song after song as have enjoyed him performing so much. Agree the baritone does it for me, its such a great tone.

I've always preferred deeper voices and I've never been able to work out "why Darius?" when there weren't any real indications that that wonderful baritone existed.

Maybe it was the smooth tone that attracted me. I just knew straight away that this was a voice I would never tire of hearing.

I would like to think Darius would build some choreographed performances into his concerts. By that I mean something like the original Non Piu Andrai not a stage full of gyrating bodies and flashing lights and/or pyrotechnics.

Well that was clever I managed to quote myself.
