Posted February 25, 201015 yr According to esctoday, this is the chosen entry for Belarus! JLW61qHHjWY A little dull, but at least it's not another male "rock" soloist :D
February 25, 201015 yr I rather like it. It reminds me a bit of Prime Minister - Northern Girl (Russia 2003 I think?) I have heard much worse this year, it's probably in my top 5 :o
February 26, 201015 yr Not as bad as most of the others that have been selected so far, but still pretty dismal. :( I really hope the UK, Ireland, Greece, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia deliver the goods...
February 26, 201015 yr It's very good! Even better than in 2007 even though who could've thought they could choose something better?! (I'm not a fan of Work Your Magic btw) The accent is HIDEOUS though. There is NO excuse in this world to pronounce the 'th' sound as 's'... oh wait there is ... only if you are dumb :D All those who tell 'oh i can't do it no matter how i try  ' are lazy $h!ts. February 26, 201015 yr Work Your Magic was a #1 in my chart :heehee: amazing song, always thought it sounded like a long lost Bond theme, albeit sung by somebody with a tragic English accent (like all Belarusians it seems :drama:)
February 26, 201015 yr It wasn't until 2008 when I became a massive ESC fan, so in 2007 I hadn't heard the songs before the semi-final, and on the night, Belarus was my favorite on the night (since Andorra didn't qualify), and the song I voted for. But since then, I've developed more favorites from the year
February 26, 201015 yr Author 2004 is still my favourite entry of theirs, despite the bizarre live vocal, followed by 2005 and then 2007.
March 19, 201015 yr Apparently Belarus have changed their song and it is now this: Butterflies http://naviny.by/rubrics/culture/2010/03/1...video_117_3999/ I think it's very nice and it's your typical boy/girl teen pop group album closer song. It's another feckin ballad though, so hopefully Ukraine will redress the balance by choosing an uptempo!
March 19, 201015 yr Oh I replied to your message before realising they'd changed their entry! This is far far better than their previous entry - would move them from average to good at least and sounds like a big grower too!
March 19, 201015 yr Better than "Far Away", but now they've ruined the "Far Away" & "Run Away" in the same semi thing (last year, we could've ended up with "Lose Control" for Finland, "Out Of Control" for Ireland & "Out Of Control"* for Greece) I didn't think they've qualify with their first song, but I love the chorus on the new song, and they could just have booked their place in the final *May not be the exact title
March 19, 201015 yr Author Beautiful  Far Away wouldn't have qualified, but this almost certainly will. Malta have no hope in qualifying now.
April 2, 201015 yr Massive grower alert, seems Peter was right - I do love it  The way it builds up is great one minor niggle still 'and im-ay-gine, just im-ay-gine' :drama: hopefully they'll correct this on the live performance but it's no worse than Anna Bergendahl and her 'eye-ron' I suppose...
April 2, 201015 yr When it comes to English pronunciation, you can't get any worse than the lovely Lena. It might be her singing style and done on purpose, but when she says "toenails", to me, it sounds like she's saying "toenaits" :kink:

It might be her singing style and done on purpose, but when she says "toenails", to me, it sounds like she's saying "toenaits" :kink: Very true. And Tom Dice's cover of 'Bleething Love' was priceless :heehee:
April 2, 201015 yr This whole 'im-ay-gine' pronunciation thing is quite common in russian speaking countries so no surprise here. It's the only thing that annoys me in the song, to the point where I want to hurt myself really badly actually. :( The song is indeed a massive grower! Not that i disliked it when i first heard it. Belarus are back on horse!
April 2, 201015 yr I have it down as one of seven potential winners now - blog promo time; http://poplovedance.blogspot.com/2010/04/o...s-esc-odds.html If it qualifies and gets drawn anywhere after 15th or so, I reckon it will do very well in the final.
April 2, 201015 yr I really like it, and I love the music video, but I don't think it's strong enough to win, and I think it needs a late draw to do well, as I see it as being a little bit forgettable
