LOL at Paul Potts  He's got a reasonable voice, not exceptional IMO.

Lyn met him when she appeared live on ITV in the first series of Britain's Got Talent with our dog Jerry Lee, and she said every other contestant was friendly and lovely but that he wasn't very nice at all -_- Lyn's a lovely person, far more polite and easy going than I am, so for her to say this, he must have been a pretty miserable fella.

I hope the charity single does brilliantly. It shocks me, that in this day and age, when an enormous disaster like this occurs, how long it seems to take to get supplies and shelter into place, and how much disorganization there always seems to be. People fighting each other for food, water and other basics :( but we would all do the same if it meant the difference between our own family surviving or not!

On one hand I realise the scale of this horror and the logistics of co-ordinating the rescue/supply efforts must be mind blowing, but with all the machinery, equipment and experience available in the world today, you would think we could all do a little bit better for these people in desperate need :(

Haiti isn't like anywhere we know. It's not that easy there. The culture and way of life is so different to here, it's hard for us to understand. Life is incredibly hard without natural disasters and survival is the prime motivation. So many people there are helpless all the time, this disaster must make it impossible for thousands. We just can't relate to it.
it becomes the same as for any other animal, survival of the fittest..they always say we are three meals away from anachy...so many live in areas that will be prone to natural events, it follows more will suffer. Big earthquake in Chili today, and one in japan I read. unfortunately our way of life is very unadaptable, it isnt the earthquakes that do the damage, its all the concrete and bricks we build around ourselves. more and more people is fine when all is going well, but when it isnt, it is impossible to cope -

Starvation is quite normal in Haiti for the poor, survival will be very difficult for them now.

Nah, Jedward copies him remember.......badly! They all sang their own lines but everyone sings together at the end apparently.

Rhydian, Natasha Marsh and a couple of others seemed to be with the musician "names".

Maybe there were too many to get best quality sound in one studio.

There is quite a long article in the daily mail about this and mentions D saying he rehearsed his part in the car on the way to the studio. Sorry havent brought it across, quite long but interesting.

exert from mail - They are Britain's finest 'classical crossover' music stars, gathered together for the first time under one roof.

Now they have recorded a single to raise money for those devastated by the earthquake in Haiti.

The result is a hauntingly beautiful cover version of David Foster's The Prayer - the first classical charity single.

The 23 artists who donated their services included Aled Jones, boy band Blake, Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts and X Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts.

Also present were female operatic ensembles All Angels and Opera Babes, newcomer Camilla Kerslake, soprano Natasha Marsh and teenage prodigy Faryl Smith. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra provided the music.

The atmosphere at the Metropolis Studios in West London was one of organised chaos, the floor of the artists' waiting room strewn with laptops, song sheets and stray shoes.

In one corner Faryl Smith listened to the piano on her iPhone, matching its notes with her pitch-perfect voice.

In another, Paul Potts and pop star turned West End singer Darius Campbell posed for a picture, while the trio of Irish clergymen The Priests captured the moment excitedly with their iPhones.

For all the camaraderie, their staggering collective talent became clear when they started to sing The Prayer, originally performed in 1999 by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion
