Only just heard the song and it's beautiful. Obviously I would prefer D to sing more throughout, a bit like that Marsha(I think) woman seems to, but it really was quite moving to hear. Not sure I can face the other youtube vid, but will probably have to take a look a bit later. Thanks for the links guys :)

I think the arrangement of The Prayer is so good.

 

I don't like sopranos usually. However I like all of the soloists voices on this. Possibly because they aren't pushing it to operatic sound until near the end.

 

The only thing I can't pick out is Julian Smith's sax solo. I can hear Charlie Siems' violin at the beginning and Julian LLoyd Webber's cello a couple of times but I just can't hear the sax.

 

When you look at it, Darius gets a good bit to do.

 

I think I'd feel more disapponted if I was a Rhydian or Blake fan.

 

Rhydian's voice only comes through clearly when he's harmonising with Gardar Thor Cortes. I can sort of hear it with D but I think the balance is more in D's favour.

 

I don't understand why one of Blake was given 2 solo lines instead of the group doing it.

I couldnt really make out who was singing, apart form Darius, oh and that go compare guy..unfortunately his voice sounds as it does on the ad, so all I coulod hear was go compare...

I like the start and the end, but in th emiddle after Darius there is a bit where it seems to build to a muddle of voices to me, and I find it unpleasent on the ear, but them I dont like high voices, the bits where I can hear Darius deep voice amongst the voices is OK, but one bit where lots of high voices are together really I could do without

I liked Gardar Thor Cortes' voice. I'd never heard of him before. I might see if there's anything by him on youtube.

 

I liked what I heard of Camilla Kerslake on The Prayer but I wasn't impressed with her guest spot on PSTOS. Maybe she was just nervous that night. However her voice is probably too shrill for my taste.

I've just realised JS's sax playing is the intro. He's playing the straight sax which has a different sound.

 

There's a piano solo too. I wonder who that is.

I juast saw advert on tv the main one showing Fariel smith then followed by the group picture. Should have had D as he main one, good as Fariel might be she is not that well known.

Mum has seen it but, though we sat through Piers Morgan, the only time it was shown, we were out of the room and haven't managed to see it.

Blake were on at 7.25 am this morn ing talking about the single. tney were asked who else was on it nd they said Rhydian and Darius. I didnt think the timing wa a good PR exercise after all 7.25 this morning half the nation are still in bed.

He also got a mention on Lorraine on friday when she had Bernie as a guest and Lorraine said she would like to hear them do a duet.

err, I wouldnt like to hear Bernie in a duet with Darius...I really didnt like her "operatic voice'. how was she in the interview, did she mention Darius at all,

I've just got back with the paper. Don't buy papers usually and got a shock as it was £1.50 :o Haven't looked at it yet, but will probably download and buy a cd.

Well that's flaming annoying! Just registered and clicked to download the song and it says service unavailable :angry:

 

Has anyone else tried and got the same message, or is it just me?

Do we need the Sunday Mail to be able to download, I've just been on HMV and itunes and it's not there, I thought we could just download it as we can any other song?

 

editing to say I run out and got the paper, managed to download the song and I'll send off for the CD :)

I saw the TV advert last night, it showed Faryl and had just a mention of Darius whicb was unusual as I though they would have said "and featuring winner of PSTOP Darius" or something along those lines but there only pic was of him with the whole group singing the song.

 

Pathetic really, whoever is doing the PR for this is useless!
