Well, it had to happen sometime I suppose... A Horror film remake which actually hits the target with a fukkin' bullseye.... I was worried because I was expecting another hack to ruin a Romero film, but, well, firstly with "The Crazies", it was a BIT of a case of "good idea, shame about the end result", the original was never in the same league as the classic "Living Dead" trilogy (all of which have been absolutely ruined by pointless remakes...), and secondly, I think even George himself actually wanted to get it right this time, so he produced it...

Some will maybe say he should have directed, but I wont, Breck Eisner isn't exactly known, but if he makes more films like this, it wont be long before he is.. There are scenes of gut-wrenching horror and tension here which even Romero himself would be hard pressed to top... In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this is probably even better than stuff like "28 Days Later" and its superior sequel as well....

And, unbelievably, it's been given a '15' cert.... But that just lulls you into a false sense of security, trust me.....

Yep, I thought it was a really good remake. One of the best I've seen! It was tense throughout though, had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Thoroughly impressed though, the acting was pretty good too and it's not as predictable as you may think.

The scene where there tied to hospital beds and the man comes in to stab them with rakes is particularly terrifying/well done!

For an unknown director with no real history of horror films, I'd say Eisner did a far more creditable job of updating this than Rob Zombie did of those two "Halloween" films, the second one in particular just being absolutely awful and pointless.... The Crazies is one upgrade which is more than welcome in my book... I'm just a bit scared that they're gonna ruin it with potential sequels.... I hope Romero can perhaps resist the temptation, or at the very least make sure the conditions are in place that any sequels would be of a similar good quality......

Spend the 11 bucks! It's worth it. I see the crazies pulling anywhere between 25-35 million this weekend, easy

We use 'Pounds' over this side of the Pond mate.... :P

Mind you, I really dont see how the hell $11 translates into £11 or £12, which is what it costs to see a film in London.. I'm not aware of any situation where the pound/dollar exchange rate is 1:1.....
