Sabine from Holland just posted this on d'S FACEBOOK.

Hey D, guess what... you were just on Dutch television! ;-) They showed how you won the finale as they had two dutch singers (Lange Frans: a rapper ;-) and Do) who were giving the opera-singing a shot. They were really impressed by you... YEEY!

Nice to see other countries appreciating him.

Thanks meg. I think if I was his management I would try and cash in on that somehow.

I'm hoping the franchise gets picked up world wide - and Darius is shown everywhere it is.
That would be great but will that happen in view of its being said on the net it will be dropped on TV here but what do they know.
What's the point in raising interest when there is absolutely nothing in that line by Darius available for anyone to even download?
I know, I really dont understand what is going on.The other thing I wonder is the record contract. I notice Charfotte church has a new contract, some fishermans choir from cornwall have but we dont hear details of what D actually has and I notice the other acts on the bill at ayr are not signed. I really cant undertand why it has been six years since live twice and now when a good opportunity has arisen its put back again.
I can't help thinking Bernie Nolan would have had at least a title and nominal release date and be picking up pre-orders by now. Even that would be something.

I picked this up a month ago but didnt post it. However now seems pertinant. This was posted on a site for people in the music industry only about a month ago.

, JLS could have released ' how much is that Doggy in the Window' and got to number one. And got the airplay. That is not what i am talking about, the geat British public are fickle.

If they are going to build an international career they need a bleeding love and soon. They run the risk of turning into Darius and not Leona. They also need to act like stars and move on from the X factor smaltz. .

The British public are fickle. They don't wait.

Some of us do  but I understand your concern

They would be very, very lucky to turn into a Darius. I don't think they have as much talent though. Even though so many young girls I know adore them, it's never their voices they are going on about.
We've 'kept the faith' so long we're not going to give up now, but it's hard when nothing concrete seems to be happening, and we worry that his talent is being overlooked just like before, and yes, I feel what you say about Bernie Nolan is probably right. Sue

But he hasn't stopped since he came back and he hasn't been back very long. For him, life is very busy - for us, it's back to waiting. At least we know there is a really good chance it wont be for too long.

I enjoyed that. One was very much like some teenage boys - I like it and nothing else is any good. No one seemed to notice that it showed opera as a medium that people with good voices could, over years of training, become adept at.
I loved listening to Darius on that, it was like listening to him on the radio. I wish they had commented on his performance but perhaps not, the opera one was so patronising but its the same for the theatre, if you havent gone through stage school etc etc. Thanks Baytree..

I don't think many would not appreciate Darius in Musical Theatre. He is just so good. The classical pieces he sings are so natural and seemingly effortless that I think he will have to be accepted in that sphere in time.

Darius came out every week and made every song look easy, which made the contrast with the VTs where he was uptight about the pieces all the greater.

It looked like he'd been given easier songs than the others who were obviously nervous and stressed singing theirs (excluding Alex James who just let loose) and that Darius was being a bit of a divo in rehearsals, rather than that he was expressing genuine concerns.

I suspect that some of his angst derived from his training as a method actor. For me it was most noticeable when Darius was interviewed after he'd been given Toreador. His character was a Spanish matador entertaining a crowd in French and Darius was trying to create an inflection reflecting 3 language influences - Spanish accented French with an Italian operatic tone.

He's got an excellent ear. I'll bet he'd have done it too, with a couple of more days. As it was, I thought he did really well. He was more comprehensible than the girls were later in the competition.
