August 6, 201014 yr Author I just hope Alan and Meatloaf (and preferably LLewellen-Bowen) aren't included this time.
August 10, 201014 yr Author http://www.list.co.uk/article/28036-myleen...ttle-with-alan/ Myleene Klass and Alan Titchmarsh face a fight to keep their jobs on 'Popstar To Operastar'. The two hosts have reportedly been warned that budget cuts mean the ITV1 show can only afford one presenter for the second series next year, with show chiefs planning to make changes to boost ratings. A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Popstar To Operastar may not have been a huge ratings winner but it didn't do badly. "There have been many false reports saying the show has been axed but it hasn't. "It will have a new look and just one presenter as we thought having two was a bit of an overkill. "We're confident that fans will like what we are planning." Insiders now say Myleene is the obvious choice to keep because of her background in classical music, but Alan claims he is the favourite with viewers. According to reports, the show will have £700,000 to spend on appearance fees for the eight celebrity contestants, but have an additional £135,000 in reserve in case they attract a "big name" star. Former 'Pop Idol' contestant Darius Campbell won the first series of the show earlier this year. 'Popstar To Operastar' is expected to return to ITV1 next June on Sunday evenings. August 10, 201014 yr Thanks Meg. Now the perfect solution would be to get rid of them both and have Darius as presenter, sorted. :) Sue
August 10, 201014 yr Not nice for the one who loses out. Probably be better to bring in someone else but please not Meatloaf or Llewellyn.
February 7, 201114 yr Apparently the competitors on Popstar To Operastar 2011 will be allowed to sing songs from musicals.
February 8, 201114 yr So the first series was too difficult for most then......just shows how good they were...and Darius of course
February 8, 201114 yr Author To learn new techniques and sing in a new language in such a short space of time would be really difficult for most people.
February 8, 201114 yr I think that's a big part of it, but also the general public won't be familiar with many more arias than they heard last time, so this might generate more interest. Darius should definately be invited to be a part of it. Judge or even mentor, though not sure he has fully gained his opera credentials to fulfill such a role just yet. I always wondered what LLB was doing on the show. D would be a much better fit :) IUs the show definately happening, and if so, does anyone know when?
February 8, 201114 yr Author I haven't heard anything since it was said that it'd be on Sunday evenings in June
February 8, 201114 yr Surely they will have to change the title of the show then, because it will no longer be correct? Sue
