Thanks Pam. Wasn't it a magical night? The Impossible Dream gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, but yes it does seem such a long time ago. Sue

I'd forgotten just how much I'd enjoyed those songs and the excitement of the night.

 

I was at work and had to keep dashing around looking for a phone signal......don't want to go through that again!!

But it was an exciting 6 weeks.

Certainly gave us something to keep us occupied :)

The tension each Friday night was unbearable though. Although the out come was brilliant, I hope he never does anything like it again!! Sue

We heard him sing for 6weeks - I'd like that again. The tension is far easier to put up with than the disappearing tricks

Well, he's still on holiday

Looks like we're going to have to start looking at things in reverse - here's the holiday, there's the norm.

 

And there, there appears to be some toe in the water performance as well as songwriting going on now. It'san interesting time.

 

Popstar to Operastar is apparently showing in Australia just now. It seems to have been shown in quite a few countries, despite some disappointment in its ratings here.

 

However I think ITV have now appreciated that in its Friday night slot, against the competition it had from semi-finals and finals of reality shows and established ratings winners on other channels, compared to other things they have had since in the same slot, it actually did well for them.

It was a good idea for a programme. And, listening to Darius singing as a baritone, well worthit.

 

It sounds as though most of the effort for his career is US based now.

It will be interesting to see who takes on the challenge and how the format is tweaked.

 

I really think it would be better to keep all candidates in for a few weeks and show a lot more of the vocal coaching.
