March 7, 201015 yr The verses of Say Cheese are divine! For Sure was my fourth favourite of the singles, just above When My Baby. I'm surprised Energy was quite low down with you, I thought it was amazing! I loved the Nylon song and the video! Bulgaria will indeed never beat Water  Unless they send Elitsa and Stoyan again with something even better :o I have Say Cheese on single, but only because it was 1p in Asda  where did 'The Fast Food Song' peak in your chart by the way?
March 7, 201015 yr I'll comment on all of the top 20 from this point; 020. The Modern - Industry [1] (March 2006) - decent, I don't love it though 019. Shiny Toy Guns - You Are The One [1] (April 2007) - see above 018. Amy MacDonald - Mr Rock & Roll [1] (July 2007) - excellent, although it was a flash in the pan in my chart - peaked at #3 and fell quickly 017. Within Temptation - Memories [1] (February 2005) - don't know this one 016. Hoobastank - The Reason [1] (June 2004) - don't like this much, but it is anthemic 015. Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies) [1] (September 2005) - not a fan of this 014. Ruslana - Wild Dances [1] (May 2004) - also a #1 in my chart, and one of the few winners I saw sense to put money on, at 15/1 or something too! 013. Nicole Kidman & Ewan McGregor - Come What May [1] (September 2001) - quite decent, didn't expect to see it here though! 012. Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky [1] (July 2001) - legendary, was in my top 40 of the decade! 011. Steps - It's The Way You Make Me Feel [1] (January 2001) - their best noughties single in my opinion, by quite some stretch
March 7, 201015 yr Author I have Say Cheese on single, but only because it was 1p in Asda  where did 'The Fast Food Song' peak in your chart by the way? That's cheap!! I wish we always had an Asda in Carmarthen, we still don't, because I missed out big time there with cheap singles :( . All 3 FFR songs went to number one for me putting them at the same level as Hera in terms of chart success  I'll comment on all of the top 20 from this point; 020. The Modern - Industry [1] (March 2006) - decent, I don't love it though 019. Shiny Toy Guns - You Are The One [1] (April 2007) - see above 018. Steps - It's The Way You Make Me Feel [1] (January 2001) - their best noughties single in my opinion, by quite some stretch Thanks for comments. 20 - That is the same view as I have until I hear it. I think "No, I won't listen to that - I've heard it loads of times" and then when it comes on randomly it feels as good as new! Very weird! 18 - It clung on in my chart for ages, I think LA had entered, peaked and dropped out by the time this left the chart  17 - Similar sort of thing as Evanescence's My Immortal, but less epic and with a nicer vocal. 16 - I can see why some would find it a little boring. 15 - Arcade Fire are definitely a love/hate group  14 - If I'd have been old enough, I'd have put a bet on this too from an early date. When I first heard it, it was a "That's the winner" moment  . 13 - I know, bit of a shock, but I love it. Ewan McGragor has a fantastic voice! 12 - One of the top 5 dance tunes ever for me! 11 - Agreed!

Breed 77 - The River [1] (April 2004) 009. H.I.M. - The Funeral Of Hearts [1] (January 2004) 008. The Rasmus - In The Shadows [1] (April 2004) 007. Aurora featuring Naimee Coleman - Ordinary World [1] (September 2000) 006. Lasgo - Alone [1] (August 2002) At number 10 is the emotionally charged rock ballad by Breed 77 who originate from Gibraltar. More rock at number 9 from Finnish band H.I.M., or His Infernal Majesty. The Funeral Of Hearts is one of numerous songs that prove just how brilliant 2004 was for music. Another 2004 hit at number 8 by another Finnish act, The Rasmus. Despite the rather amusing video featuring a bizarre maid, I love the simple but brilliant In The Shadows. A dance cover of Duran Duran's Ordinary World appears at number 7. A gorgeous interpretation of the song that I love equally as much as the original. Lasgo make their second appearance at number 6 with the highly underrated Alone. The LMC Radio Edit is totally amazing!! Video featuring 1 minute clips of all 5 songs: QKxBj7jHfSw 5-3: http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_Nightwish-Nemo.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_WithinTemptation-StandMyGround.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_Evanescence-MyImmortal.jpg 005. Nightwish - Nemo [1] (May 2004) 004. Within Temptation - Stand My Ground [1] (November 2004) 003. Evanescence - My Immortal [1] (December 2003) The highest placed song by Nightwish is at number 5. The video is one of the best ever and this song is just so epic. A stunning lead single from the immense album, Once. More metal at number 4, and along with Nemo, another 2004 hit. Stand My Ground is the amazing lead single from Within Temptation's third album. Many people compared it to Bring Me To Life by Evanescence, but Sharon Den Adel's vocals help to propel this song leagues ahead of Bring Me To Life. Speaking of Evanescence, they also make an appearance in the top 10 at number 3 with the sensational ballad, My Immortal. The rocky climax is just breathtaking. Videos: Nightwish - Nemo: SO4LyKd-Hws Within Temptation - Stand My Ground: z5ql5enBQIM Evanescence - My Immortal: B3YrOlv9Djc 002. The Modern - Jane Falls Down [1] (November 2005) http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_TheModern-JaneFallsDown.jpg Just missing out on the top spot is the debut major release from The Modern. A surprise hit on the UK chart following absolutely no promotion from radio and TV, it entered and peaked at number 35. Along with practically all their songs, this is just totally magnificent, but the video was quite scary. And so finally, the best single of the decade... ...is one that was cancelled :o :( 001. The Modern - Sometimes [1] (November 2007) http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_TheModern-Sometimes.jpg Yes, due to be released as a download only at the end of 2007, it was pulled after the group, who were known as Matinee Club at the time split with their then label, Planet Clique. Such a shame as I would have LOVED this to get a proper single release. Alas it wasn't meant to be. Still, it is an absolutely fantastic piece of pop music that reminds me of a cross between The Human League and Erasure. I am a huge fan of theirs and some people who have known me for a while will undoubtedly know that :P . Therefore, it's no surprise at all that they finished in the top 2 places in this countdown. March 7, 201015 yr Author So that completes the top 100 singles, and now here is the top 50 album tracks and b-sides: I was going to make recap videos for this, but I encountered loads of copyright restrictions when uploading the latter videos in the singles section. All songs should be available to preview in various places and mp3's are available upon request :kink: . http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_ShinyToyGuns.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_Nightwish.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_Steps.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_Katzenjammer.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/th_Dragonette.jpg 01. Performance - The Ending (Taken from the album "(We Are) Performance" - June 2007) General comments: Perhaps surprisingly, following their domination in the singles chart, The Modern can only manage a peak of number 8 here. The beautiful We Are Pilots rightfully holds the top spot and this is backed up by two tracks from an exceptional album by Nightwish. Other successes here include multiple entries by Steps, Shiny Toy Guns and Norwegian folk group Katzenjammer. All in all this countdown was even harder to compile than the top 100 singles as there were so many contenders for the top 50. I truly love all 50 of these songs and there's special mention for Cerys Matthews' brilliant "Salutations", which is taken from the album "Don't Look Down", that just missed out at 51. 01. The Swedish singers seemingly endless stream of singles from the album helps to place it here as her singles are all very decent. This is the only album in the countdown not to have been an album of the week. Short-lived dance act Angel City, fronted by Lara McAllen are at 49 with an impressive dance-pop crossover album. Just above them is the bizarre pop-rock debut from Panic! At The Disco. H.I.M. find themselves at number 47 with a sturdy metal offering in the shape of Love Metal. The singles taken from this album were all brilliant. Swedish trio, Nexx are at 46 with their download only European release, Synchronize Lips. So many catchy tracks on here and I really hope it's picked up for release in the UK. The recent album from Italian rockers Lacuna Coil is at 45 and independently released Bedroom Superstars by Sheffield born-London based duo, Scarlet BLONDE. Austrian symphonic metal group with an ever changing line up, Visions Of Atlantis are at 43 and the debut with a lot of very decent album tracks from Alcazar places at 42. Just missing out on the top 40 is a collection of Slovenian turbofolk tunes from Brigita Šuler. Highlights from each album: - The Queen - Deja Vu, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, Come Into The Night - Love Me Right - Sunrise, Do You Know (I Go Crazy), Calling You - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out - The Only Difference Between Suicide And Martyrdom Is Press Coverage, I Write Sins Not Tragedies, Build God Then We'll Talk - Love Metal - The Funeral Of Hearts, The Sacrament, Buried Alive By Love - Synchronize Lips - Synchronize Lips, Doin' To Me, Paralyzed - Shallow Life - I Like It, I Won't Tell You, Spellbound - Bedroom Superstars - Bedroom Superstar, Fuse, There Is No Black & White - Cast Away - Lost, Last Shut Of Your Eyes, Send Me A Light - Casino - Don't Leave Me Alone, Transmetropolis, Crying At The Discotheque - Do Zore - Kamrca, Nekje Na Dnu Srca, Hej Mala Opala

The repackaged version of Lady GaGa's debut is at 39. The newer disc was a pop masterpiece and more than made up for what I thought was originally quite a lacklustre debut. Dutch metal band Within Temptation are at 38 with their fourth studio album and Finnish rockers The Rasmus are at 36 with the impressive Black Roses, which was a return to form from them I thought. Swedish dance trio Da Buzz are at 35 with the very strong Last Goodbye and there's more Swedish-ness at 34 from Alcazar with their recent studio album/Greatest Hits package, Disco Defenders. Both of The Long Blondes albums appear here and both are of the same exceptional quality. Couples I feel flows just slightly better, plus the newer recordings of some singles spoiled the debut a bit. Franz Ferdinand's surprisingly brilliant debut is at 32 and German dance act Cascada is at number 31 with their strong, if a bit samey, debut Everytime We Touch. Highlights from each album: - Eurotopia - To The Lions, Last Day Alive, Tide - The Fame Monster - Bad Romance, Alejandro, Poker Face - The Heart Of Everything - Hand Of Sorrow, What Have You Done Now, Frozen - Someone To Drive You Home - Swallow Tattoo, Weekend Without Make Up, Once & Never Again - Black Roses - The Dangerous Kind, Ten Black Roses, Livin' In A World Without You - Last Goodbye - Last Goodbye, Without Breaking, World For 2 - Disco Defenders - Stay The Night, Inhibitions, Thank You - Couples - Guilt, Century, I Liked The Boys - Franz Ferdinand - The Dark Of The Matinee, Auf Achse, This Fire - Everytime We Touch - Everytime We Touch, A Neverending Dream, Miracle

A second entry for Cascada at 29 with their third and more diverse studio album, Evacuate The Dancefloor. Also getting a second entry is The Rasmus with their biggest LP, Dead Letters. Manchester four piece indie/electro band Performance are at 27 with their Killers-esque debut and the second release from Belgian dance act, Lasgo is one place higher at 26. Madonna's epic non-stop bop album Confessions On A Dance Floor is at 25 and German/Norwegian female fronted metal group Leaves' Eyes at are 24 with the multilingual album, Vinland Saga. The Ultrasonics are at 23 with their perky debut and this is just out-peaked by Comalies, a second entry from Lacuna Coil in the albums countdown. Just missing out on the top 20 is the debut album from Fame Academy winner, Alex Parks. Despite the plethora of cover versions, her own written tracks are superb. Highlights from each album: - Black Luck - Are Your Shoes Too Tight?, Wall Of Shame, Death & Dust - Evacuate The Dancefloor - Why You Had To Leave, Dangerous, Evacuate The Dancefloor - Dead Letters - In The Shadows, Guilty, Funeral Song - (We Are) Performance - Surrender, The Ending, Lost Youth - Far Away - Deep In Your Heart, Only You, Lying - Confessions On A Dance Floor - Sorry, Like It Or Not, Let It Will Be - Vinland Saga - Elegy, Ankomst, Mourning Tree - Ultrasound - It's Over Now, Perfect Girl, Zero Gravity - Comalies - Unspoken, Daylight Dancer, Swamped - Introduction - Cry, Stones & Feathers, Here Comes The Rain Again Edited March 10, 201015 yr by Ghosty233

Covering a wide range of genres, this was one of the groups strongest albums. The debut album from Lasgo is at 19 and is the perfect dance album. Another strong pop offering at 18 from Dragonette. Their debut, Galore featured numerous potentially huge hits, but Mercury Records once again messed up. Sophie Ellis-Bextor's third album is at 17 and like Galore, it was a very strong pop album as was the recent release from Infernal at 16. Both albums contained plenty of potentially massive hits. Girls Aloud make a second appearance at 15 with the fourth studio album, Tangled Up. Swedish singer Danny is at 14 with yet another strong collection of pop songs. The E.M.D. singer broke the general rule of second albums being rubbish by completely eclipsing his debut! More Infernal at 13 and metal act Nightwish are at 12 with their first post-Tarja release, Dark Passion Play. Just missing out on the top 10 is the highly underrated debut from Little Boots. Having gained a lot of attention after winning the Sound of 2009 poll, her record label COMPLETELY messed up by waiting a whole 6 months before releasing a major single. By this time, La Roux had stolen Victoria's thunder and many people deem Little Boots a flop. Such a shame as all the tracks on Hands are amazing. Highlights from each album: - Out Of Control - Untouchable, Love Is The Key, Live In The Country - Some Things - You, Alone, Something - Galore - True Believer, I Get Around, Black Limousine - Trip The Light Fantastic - Catch You, Me & My Imagination, New Flame - Electric Cabaret - Whenever You Need Me, Days Full Of Loving, Redefinition - Tangled Up - Call The Shots, Control Of The Knife, Crocodile Tears - Set Your Body Free - Utopia, All On You, Just Like That - From Paris To Berlin - Fairytale, Hey Hello, Ten Miles - Dark Passion Play - Amaranth, The Poet And The Pendulum, Meadows Of Heaven - Hands - Mathematics, Symmetry, Remedy
March 11, 201015 yr my faves so far; 49. Angel City - Love Me Right (March 2005) loved it at the time, haven't listened to it in years 39. Lady GaGa - The Fame Monster (December 2009) 34. Alcazar - Disco Defenders (April 2009) fantastic pop album, a couple of patchy tracks two thirds of the way through but perfect otherwise 31. Cascada - Everytime We Touch (March 2007) 29. Cascada - Evacuate The Dancefloor (July 2009) 25. Madonna - Confessions On A Dance Floor (November 2005) 20. Girls Aloud - Out Of Control (November 2008) my favourite GA album :D 19. Lasgo - Some Things (September 2002) 17. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Trip The Light Fantastic (May 2007) this was very good, Love Is Here topped my singles chart as an album track! 15. March 11, 201015 yr Author 49 - I hadn't listened to Angel City for years until a few weeks ago. It's quality has gone down since I first heard it, but I adored it at the time! 34 - I really like it now! Took me a while to get into it 17 - It's a really strong album. Deserved a better chart position. I'm very much looking forward to her new material.

Within Temptation - The Silent Force (December 2004) 09. Steps - Buzz (December 2000) 08. KT Tunstall - Eye To The Telescope (January 2005) 07. Arcade Fire - Funeral (April 2005) 06. Amy MacDonald - This Is The Life (August 2007) Kicking off the Top 10 is the third studio album from Dutch metal band, Within Temptation. It is one of the finest examples of an album from a female fronted metal group with numerous surprisingly catchy songs. All three singles were the perfect choices and they are complemented excellently by a lot of very high quality album tracks. At number 9 is one of the more older albums in the list. The third and final studio album from Steps is arguably their best with loads of really superb pop songs. From recognisable covers, to sure fire hits mixed with a blend of wonderfully put together ballads and uptempo numbers, there is no doubt that this is one of the best pop albums of all time. KT Tunstall's debut album will always be highly regarded by myself. She took full advantage of the sheer brilliance her album was by releasing tonnes of songs from it as singles, but some of the tracks that remained album only are amongst her best work to date. Canadian group Arcade Fire are at number 7 with their melancholic collection of, quite frankly epic works of art. The emotion and charm of this album never fails to raise the hairs on the back of my neck. The craftsmanship of this LP is mesmerising. At number 6 is Scottish singer/songwriter Amy MacDonald and her very mature debut, This Is The Life. Made up of highly catchy sing-along acoustic numbers, this album always remains a favourite to put on when you just what something quite easy on the ears and mind to listen to. Highlights from each album: - The Silent Force - Stand My Ground, Memories, Angels - Buzz - Paradise Lost, Never Get Over You, Happy Go Lucky (and the singles!) - Eye To The Telescope - Silent Sea, Through The Dark, Suddenly I See - Funeral - Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels), Rebellion (Lies), In The Backseat - This Is The Life - Mr Rock & Roll, This Is The Life, Poison Prince 5-3: http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/Katzenjammer-LePop.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/Evanescence-Fallen.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/ShinyToyGuns-Once.jpg 05. Katzenjammer - Le Pop (August 2009) 04. Evanescence - Fallen (May 2003) 03. Shiny Toy Guns - We Are Pilots (April 2007) Opening the top 5 is Norwegian female quartet, Katzenjammer and their unique blend of allsorts basically. A very strong album that brings together a mismatch of music and offers the listener something incredibly different to listen to. Fallen by Evanescence ends up in fourth place, slightly hampered by the inferior album version of My Immortal. However, it is an incredibly strong album that could have spawned a lot of singles. The flop of Everybody's Fool was saddening. At number 3 is the evocative debut from American electro band, Shiny Toy Guns. This album never fails to please anybody I play it to. There is so much emotion in the lyrics and when put to the breathtaking music, it creates an audio landmark. Highlights from each album: - Le Pop - Demon Kitty Rag, Hey Ho On The Devil's Back, To The Sea - Fallen - Hello, Tourniquet, Haunted - We Are Pilots - We Are Pilots, You Are The One, Rainy Monday 02: Nightwish - Once (June 2004) http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/Nightwish-Once.jpg Now this is a complete masterpiece which captivated me from the very first note. Once was the fifth major album release from Finnish symphonic metal act, Nightwish and is most definitely one of the best rock albums ever. Maybe not to everybody's taste thanks to Tarja's operatic vocals and the use of a full orchestra, but it was an astounding listen for me. Dramatic doesn't even begin to describe the nature of this dynamic piece of work and it will really take something incredibly special from this genre to top it. Highlights: Dark Chest Of Wonders, Ghost Love Score and Nemo, to name a few. 01: The Modern - The Modern LP (February 2008) http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o166/Ghosthunter233/TheModern-TheModernLP.jpg No Surprise then what the top album of the decade for me is. I waited years for this release and finally in 2008 I got what I was after, well, I got half of what I was after as it's original release was a little bit messy to say the least. The Modern have a huge amount of high calibre pop songs and The Modern LP's first release barely covered half of these. As an American release, a small selection of songs were chosen for the US market, and of the ones that were chosen, numerous tracks were remixed and played about with and to my ears it just sounded chaotic and confused. THANKFULLY in 2009, a full 2 CD package was released in Asia and this contained almost all the original songs, in their Stephen Hague produced form and with added bonus material, including a Japanese vocal version of Tokyo Girls! The two disc set is an audio pop bible and a MUST HAVE for all pop fans. It is priced heavily and only sold on import on eBay, but it is well worth the price. Highlights: Sometimes, Jane Falls Down, Seven Oceans

Last years contest was near perfect and the compilation of that contest is a must have. Destroying a full house for ESC related material is the Floorfillers Club Classics compilation which features all the major hits from the 90s and early 00s. The perfect reminder of my childhood musical memories. And so that completes the countdown. Thanks for reading, hope it was enjoyable :D
