March 21, 201015 yr Official. Ukraine has disqualified it's second choice of entry for Oslo. Apparently, the next song will be confirmed later today.
March 21, 201015 yr  what an absolute farce. Third time lucky as they say, I'm expecting something amazing!
March 21, 201015 yr Author If they choose the second/third placed song it's not amazing i tell you  4th place however  1jPx2e95nHM
March 21, 201015 yr If they choose the second/third placed song it's not amazing i tell you  4th place however  At the moment, they're still going with Alyosha, and are giving her time to find another suitable song. A song may not be submitted to the EBU yet, as in 2006, France entered their singer and said they'd get back to the EBU on the song, because the one they'd picked wasn't suited to the singer. A couple of days later, they submitted a new song.
March 21, 201015 yr LOL. Trust me to start liking the song the day it's banned. Typical. :P Seriously, they should just send this: MN0Lz_QSLgQ <3
March 22, 201015 yr Author I agree this is good, but performance was not good, send 'Europe' Ukraine! This is the most 'Ukranian' song out of the whole selection. And i think it's unfair to leave Alyosha to still be the ESC entrant, Ukraine chose the particular song of the singer, not the singer, plus she obviously should've known the rules before plagiarising the song, that was even released two years ago. Travesty.
March 22, 201015 yr Author NTU granted extended deadline to select song Yesterday, ukrainian broadcaster NTU, announced in a statement that they are investigating the song 'To Be Free' by Alyosha which won the ukrainian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. After detailed analysis of the song 'To be free' which won the ukrainian national selection for Eurovision 2010, NTU have concluded that the song does not meet the requirements of EBU. esctoday.com reported yesterday, that NTU are investigating the issue of plagiarism over the song selected for the Ukraine for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, read here. NTU have now released the results of their investigation. After negotiations with European Broadcasting Union (EBU) executive supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, Svante Stokselius, NTU have proposed to change the song that national final winner Alyosha will sing. NTU along with the jury are currently selecting a song for the singer to sing at the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Oslo, Norway. According to the head of the Ukrainian delegation Viktoria Romanova, who is in Oslo attending the Heads of Delegations meeting of all participating countries, "Ukraine has to submit all documents on the new song in Oslo no later than Friday, March 26th 2010." http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/15429 Hopefully the song will be good.
March 22, 201015 yr Today, March 22nd, marks the deadline for all participating broadcasters of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 to submit their entries to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). However all countries have submitted their respective entries except one, Ukraine. The Ukrainian broadcaster, NTU, informed the EBU that they could not submit a song as of yet. The Ukrainian public broadcaster assured the EBU its commitment to deliver a complete entry for the 2010 running no later than Monday, March 29th. As this is in breach of the rules of the competition, the Reference Group (the governing body of the Eurovision Song Contest) have decided to impose a regulatory fine, and an additional fine for each and every day after the deadline that no entry has been received by the EBU. Svante Stockselius, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the EBU said, "The Reference Group has the regulatory possibility to impose a fine or to disqualify a broadcaster when they are in breach of certain rules. In this case, the Eurovision Song Contest's governing body imposes a fine. This shows our commitment to the rules and has the least impact on the preparations of the Host Broadcaster." At the moment all Heads of Delegations for each country are meeting in Oslo, Norway. Click here for more information.
March 22, 201015 yr Author Greece withdrew a couple of acts completely for breaking the rule about not leaking the song onto internet before the show. I wish they'd just go with the second/third placed song or whatever ffs. Edited March 22, 201015 yr by Ljósið
March 24, 201015 yr Author Apparently the song's been chosen ('Sweet People') but hasn't been published yet. Can't wait to hear this trash. The lyrics: Oh, sweet people What have we done? Tell me what is happening? For all that we've built Tumbles and is gone Oh, sweet people Have you no love for mankind? Must you go on killing Just to pass the time. The message is so true The end is really near All these feelings take me down It steals the things so dear Yes, the message is so real. Don't turn all the earth to stone Because, because, because This is your home Oh, sweet people what about our children? In theaters and video games They watch what we send to ruin Oh, sweet people What senseless game Have we all been playing? No one but you to blame? The message is so true The end is really near All these feelings take me down It steals the things so dear Yes, the message is so real. Don't turn all the earth to stone Because, because, because This is your home This is our home.
March 24, 201015 yr The Songwriter competition stands as proof that even I could write better trash than that in the space of an hour.
March 24, 201015 yr And me :kink: Sweet People is a fucking awful title for a start. And that's from the man who wrote Nice Planet, We'll Take It :heehee:
March 25, 201015 yr When can we hear this? Not that I really care, I'm fed up of hearing Ukrainian entries now!
March 25, 201015 yr When can we hear this? Not that I really care, I'm fed up of hearing Ukrainian entries now! It should be up on the official Eurovision YT channel by tomorrow.
March 25, 201015 yr Just heard the song, let me know if you want an mp3 :kink: I wouldn't rush though, it's terrible :puke2: Dull, plodding, pop rock that goes nowhere.
March 25, 201015 yr What a complete non-song. I hope they fail to qualify - if any other country sent this blandfest it would come bottom three in the semi so I don't see why Ukraine deserve to do any better with it... Seriously, every song they've come up with this year has been atrocious...what happened to the all conquering force of 2004-2009? (2005 aside but at least it had hype around it for being political :P)
